Review of TeleRepsathome - a legitimate membership site for work at home customer service, telemarketing work at home, tech support jobs at home, & other work from home jobs

By Mr. Work @ Home, Publisher of WorkAtHomeTruth.com

I

'll get straight to the point about TeleRepsathome. If you're looking for a job where you can work from home on the phone, TeleRepsathome can be a valuable site for you. Even within my first two months of membership there, I saw numerous people get hired for work at home positions - both work at home phone jobs and other types of work at home positions.

... In fact, I've been a bit surprised that more work at home experts aren't recommending the site. On the other hand, I have to admit that at the time I'm writing this review the site looks a bit amateurish. But ironically, that may actually be why members of the site are getting interviews and jobs...

You see, just because a site looks clean and slick on the outside doesn't mean it's providing valuable information on the inside. In fact often when a site looks unbelievably slick, the owners are spending more time promoting the site than finding quality home job leads. And I have to agree with what one TeleRepsathome member said about Tara Brewer, the founder of TeleReps@home...

"Hey Tara! You are utterly amazing. I have been in the workathome community for years now. And I have subscribed to numerous work at home sites. To the tune of hundreds of dollars. Your web site is the best hands down. How in the heck are you finding so many qualilty leads when other wah sites can't. I don't know how you do it but keep it up."

Note: You can find many more testimonials from people who have landed interviews and Jobs through TeleReps@home after you click on the "Home Based Job Seekers Enter" button on the main page of the site. After you do that look on the page for a button called "Read Testimonials" and click it.

Warning! Don't let this confuse you...

One thing I was confused by at first was a statement on the Telerepsathome site that says, "There are over 50,000 people looking for home based jobs. As a Private Member you 'only' compete against 400."

However, once I had been a member of the site for a couple months I had a better idea of what they meant by this. You see, they often are able to announce potential job leads to their membership ahead of the general public because of their membership in Association Of Teleservices International. But let me explain why...

As I'm sure many of you know, many, many job positions are filled by people who are shrewd at networking with other people and other companies. In the case of TeleReps@home, they do much of this networking for you.

I should also mention that I've seen several instances in which members were in an influential position in a company to help other members get hired. One thing I try to get across to people is that the most successful telecommuters know the value of networking.

I've also seen job leads posted where companies were looking to hire TeleRepsathome members exclusively.

If you're looking for genuine work from home jobs, here's why you might consider TeleRepsathome

TeleReps@home Thumbs Up

During my brief time in the membership, I've seen several members gett interviews and/or get hired.
This of course goes in the Thumbs Up section and I'm definitely seeing that happen here. Some people have even found their first work at home position through this site.

"I love it when I visit the TeleRepsathome members forum and see members helping each other and cheering each other on when someone posts that they landed an interview or got hired for a work at home position.

Posts fresh, quality job leads on a regular basis.
Some less-than-reputable sites actually post old stale leads and claim they're fresh. While old leads can still be useful for finding potential companies that hire telecommuters on a regular basis, obviously, having fresh, quality job leads is a critical piece of any job search strategy.

Sometimes gets telecommuting job leads before the general public.
I've discussed this previously in the review when talking about TeleRepsathome's membership in Association Of Teleservices International.

Generally only lists companies that have been in business for at least a year. This is good, because it gives enough time to learn how good a company is to work for and to hear about any potential problems with working for the company.

Has an active and helpful members forum.
If you have a question about a company, about interviewing or just about anything else about working from home, chances are good that you'll find an answer in the forum.

Has a directory of companies that hire people for work at home phone work on a regular basis.
At the time of this writing (12/31/2006), TeleRepsathome had a directory of 79 companies that hire people for home phone work on a regular basis.

TeleRepsathome also has a bonus list of companies that hire telecommuters on a regular basis divided into 8 work at home job categories:

Transcribing/Data Entry 23 companies listed
Translators 14 companies listed
Writers/Editors 18 companies listed
Notary/Signing Agent 14 companies listed
Teachers/Tutors 15 companies listed
Researchers Court/OnlineCreative Art and Design 6 companies listed
Secret Shop Companies 28 companies listed
Medical Transcription/Coders 24 companies listed

TeleRepsathome keeps an archive of previously posted job leads. As I mentioned before, you can sometimes find companies that hire telecommuters on a regular basis in the old job leads. Probably the best use of the old job leads is to find companies that your extremely well matched for that hire for work at home positions on a regular basis.

TeleReps@home Thumbs Down

Sometimes only a handful of fresh leads are posted in an update.
I've seen an update with as few as 6 new leads. However at the time of this writing (12/31/2006) the new leads seem to be somewhere between 15 to 20 each time. However, it's important to note that many companies that offer work at home phone positions often have many projects where they need a lot of people. many people at the same time for special projects.

The Canadian Job Leads Section hardly ever gets updated.
If you're from Canada, TeleRepsathome may or may not be for you. It will give you some information about which companies hire telecommuters in Canada, but the job leads for Canada weren't being updated very often as of 12/31/2006.

So, if you do join, make sure you keep your receipt and mark your calendar 59 days out to make the 60 day refund timeframe.

One of the "Surprise" WAH gifts you get once you join the site, you should ignore.
One of the surprise gifts at the time this was written involves making money with the Google Adsense program. Probably most of you won't be interested in this anyhow, but even if you are, the book given away at the time I wrote this should be ignored.

It has some techniques in it that will get your websites banned by the search engines unless you really, really, really, really know what you're doing. And even then, it's risky. I'm sure Tara (the founder of TeleRepsathome) doesn't realize this, so I thought I should point it out to you here.

If you join TeleRepsathome and you have any questions about that, send me your question through the feedback form.

Bottom line about TeleReps@home

Should you invest up to $29.95 for a TeleReps@home membership?

If you're primarily interested in finding telephone work from home, then I think joining TeleRepsathome would be smart decision."

For one thing, I've seen several examples where companies specifically requested TeleRepsathome members for the work they had available.

But, maybe more important is that by joining TeleReps@home, you often hear about job opportunities before they make it out to the general public at large.

However, if you are looking for other types of work at home positions, I can really only give TeleRepsathome a "maybe".

While I have seen members get non-phone work, TeleReps@home is clearly strongest when it comes to finding telecommuting positions in the are of customer service, telemarketing, & tech suppport.
