Finding Products:
How to Make Big Bucks by Promoting Products
|
"Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest."

In yesterday's lesson we went over how to find good quality products to promote.
There are two main goals to promoting products:
1. Help your subscribers and
2. Make Money.
If you keep those priorities then you will see success. Your readers will be able to tell if you are out there just to
make a quick buck and then disappear. They want to work with somebody who cares about them, and not just money.
In this lesson I want to go over one single principle that will help you to make more money with affiliate marketing. It is:
Big Ticket Items = Big Bucks
You are probably used to seeing promotions for products that range in price from $20 to $100. It makes sense that these items
sell easier.
However, if you leave out the promotion of big ticket items then you are definitely leaving money on the table.
Let me give you an example.
Back in June of 2006 I decided I wanted to promote a $1,500 product to a select list of mine. This product originally started
out at $1,000 but then went up to $1,500 after having made a lot of sales.
I had purchased this product and it had enhanced my business so much that I wanted to give others the opportunity to
experience what I had experience.
In the end I set up a small teleseminar (30 people showed) up and talked about the benefits of this product.
Within two days after that teleseminar I had made 7 sales.
Does that sound like a lot? Well, for each sale I made $700. If you do the math you will discover that I made $4900 from
that one teleseminar to 30 select people!
Now there is a little more to why I did so well, and I will go over that in this lesson. My point is simply that you do
not have to stick with $100 e-books in order to do well with Affiliate Marketing.
In fact, a couple of months later the author of that $1,500 course decided to release the e-book portion of the larger
course for $97. I promoted that as well and made $3,200 within 4 days!
What is surprising is that I promoted it to a list of 5,000 people, not just 30.
Can you see the difference? Why didn't I make more money if it is easier to sell the $97 e-book than the $1,500 home-study
course?
It's simply because high quality big-ticket items sell extremely well!
Tips for selling big ticket items
1. Always have a bonus page.
You've seen bonus pages before, but you might not have really thought much of them. A bonus page is where you offer
your own personal bonuses when somebody signs up through your affiliate link.
This can help to add even more value to an already valuable package.
One word of caution: If your bonuses don't match the product that you are promoting, your sales rate can actually
go down rather than up!
2. Send multiple emails.
If you only send one email you might see marginal or no results. Big ticket items sometimes take a bit more analyzing
by your subscribers before they decide to purchase.
It is easy to be impulsive with a $97 product, but a $1,000 product takes a bit more conviction.
I suggest sending at least four emails. Here are four types of emails that I would send:
| Email #1: | Tell a story of why you like the product |
| Email #2: | Tell all about the bonuses that you have |
| Email #3: | Answer objections and common questions |
| Email #4: | Answer more objections and common questions |
Your subscribers will want to ask you many questions about these larger priced items, so be ready to respond to the
most common ones through email.
3. Host a teleseminar.
You might also consider hosting a teleseminar to those that express interest. In this teleseminar you should do two things:
First, you want to teach your subscribers some of the principles you learned. Give them a good taste of what they
will receive.
Second, you want to pitch the product. Don't worry about sounding like a salesman - you've already told them you
are going to recommend the product, so they aren't going to get offended when you do!
