Stop giving me free information!

Oh boy, I’ve blown it once again. I sometimes error on the site of getting free information up speedily so that people have access to it with the intent of going in and filling in the caveats and details later.

As anyone who has ever lived on planet earth knows…"later" often means "never".

I just got this question in from a customer and it’s making me wonder if I’m doing the right thing at this site:

Q:

According to their own video presentation, ACD Direct REQUIRES payment (to be trained), negating their position as a legitimate employer; in addition, one does NOT become an employee, rather, an independent contractor, as this is a "business opportunity".

Being characterized as an employer is a misrepresentation; please do not endorse this company as being anything other than the "business opportunity" that it is.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, since i run this site as mainly a hobby site with enough affiliate income generated for it to support itself I don’t always get to the details I want to. I make most my money selling stuff like luxury pillows and cutlery which is nice because I don’t have to B.S. on this site.

I know LittleWhiteEbook did a great job of detailing full-time employers, contractors, business opportunities. I think their book is only $29.95. Maybe I really need to close down the free info on this site and sell it to get the money for more researchers.

Do you think that might be the way to go?

Or I could always make a lot of money scamming people. Scammers are so stupid most the time. I’m sure I could do it better than them. ;-)

I’M JUST KIDDING!

Thanks for the feedback. At least you hit their video first, I guess.

Another one doomed for the 9-5?

When people unsubscribe from the WorkAtHomeTruth newsletter they sometimes give a reason for unusubscribing.

Today we got this message from Mary:

"I have already been there, done that, lost money on everything you have presented so there seems to be nothing new down this road."

Now, that’s fascinating, because other than the Web 2.0 Wealth System I’ve fully tested the systems on the site myself and know numerous other people who have tested them. I’m talking about the systems like

Surefire Success system.

Campaign Blasts

Adwords Miracle

Google Cash

Wealthy Affiliate

etc.

Well, does this mean the person is doomed to a 9-5? Maybe, maybe not.

The first telling sign is that she says "I’ve lost money on everything you’ve presented."

Well, guess what? I’ve LOST money on a lot of things that NOW make me all kinds of money.

There are just some people who are NOT cut out for business – who are afraid to take risks or who don’t know HOW to take risks.

If you are afraid of losing money, either use one of the self-funding systems we show you and learn HOW to manage risk, or get a job and keep getting a job everytime you’re laid off or fired which will happen over and over and over.

Man, finding a work at home job is HARD…

Q:

Paul,

I have applied and applied for work at home employment on your website to no avail.  I have experience in lots of areas, what is the problem?  Is there just not enough employment for people who want to work at home?  – Judy

A:

Judy,

I see it’s been 10 days since we first talked. This is the problem I have with most people.

Finding a telecommuting job is no easier than finding a regular job which takes considerable time and effort.

I get several people who find telecommuting positions – but for everyone that finds one there are probably dozens more that are still looking.

I have two goals at this site:

  1. Give people REALISTIC expectations about finding  work at home jobs or running home businesses.
  2. Point them to the best free resources and paid resources for doing so.

That’s why we like what Sylvie Fortin writes here:

http://www.workaholics4hire.com/jobseekers.htm

And why we recently did a full review of her book here:

http://www.workathometruth.com/InYourPJs-review.php

Debra, who’s a full-time telecommuter and who recently became our Telecommuting product reviewer did the review.

Does that make sense?

I’m sorry I can’t be one of those sites that promise you that you can make $1000/day doing simple data entry work at home – but I CAN’T – because it’s NOT true.

Hope that helps.

Paul
