Telecommuting mania – leave your brain at home

One of the things that baffles us is how many questions we get about products that clearly are likely to be of little help to people in their questions for telecommuting products versus the number of people who try to do even the quickest analysis in search of the truth.

People will consider paying as much as $197.00 for a product that know nothing about before that delivers mountains of "work from home hope" before they will tap into their own brain and use free or reasonably priced resources to achieve their goals of working from home.

The term "telecommuting mania" seems to be a decent term for this phenomenon, since the definition of mania is:"…a severe medical condition characterized by extremely elevated mood, energy, and unusual thought patterns."

Let’s take a look at one of the questions that came in recently and see if it qualifies as an example of telecommuting mania.

Q:

Processing from home rebates.Looks good but…………here is the link:

makemyincomeathome.com

A:

OK. Let’s see if makemyincomeathome qualifies as telecommuting mania:

The promise: "If You Have 60 Minutes A Day, Here’s A Certified, Proven And Guaranteed Way To Make $225 And More Every Day… The Easy Way… From Home!”

OK, we can pretty much stop right there.Apparently the person who asked about this believes he can make $225.00 in 60 minutes processing rebates at home.In facts he believes this about rebate processing jobs despite the fact that companies can easily pay people minimum wage or less than minimum wage (overseas) to do the very same work.

Seems like this definitely qualifies as an "unusual thought pattern" as described in the aforementioned definition of mania.

Hey, and wait a minute….Apparently Angela Penbrook is the #1 work at home consultant in America…but didn’t we discover earlier that Angel Stevens from ProcessAtHome was the #1 Work at Home Consultant in America?

Man, is Angel going to be ticked off when she hears Angela’s outrageous claims at ProcessAtHome.com! ;-)

Seriously though if you have some money to get rid of, I’m sure there’s a ton of people who would be happy to take it off your hands.Or you could invest in something that could actually help you find a telecommuting job like InYourPJs or Little White eBook of HomeShoring Jobs

Naah. You want to make $225.00/hour for doing "simple work at home".

For the rest of use who want to use your brain…

Surefire Success System’s Price to Rise

Update: As of 1/19/2009 the SureFire Success System is no longer recommended and has been completely removed from our top 10 recommended home business list.

‘d prefer not to post the details about exactly why I’m no longer recommending Surefire Success because I think Luke is a good guy and I worry that if I posted the specific reasons I pulled the recommendation it could be misconstrued. So, I’ll just say that it didn’t seem that we saw eye-to-eye in our opinions about how businesses should be run – and I’m NOT saying that I’m right or that he’s right. I just am not comfortable sending people to Surefire Success anymore.

This is good news for all of you in Luke Parker’s SureFire Success system – our top recommendation for those of you considering starting a home business or who already have one. And also good news for anyone who will be joining soon – and for those of you outside of the U.S.Luke Parker has been planning to raise the price for several months now, and it’s finally going to happen.

However, if you’re already in the Surefire Success system or get into it before the price increase, you won’t have to pay the new price which he’s quoted to me as being $97.00.Currently you can get lifetime access to Surefire Success for a one-time cost of $47.00.

Luke just told me that it looks like to order at the $47.00 price will likely be March 6th, 2008.

Here are the two top questions he got about the price increase along with his answers:

Question #1:

“Will it cost anything to upgrade/access Version 2.0?”

Luke’s Answer:

OF COURSE NOT! Who do you guys think I am? Bill Gates?

I never would have charged a simple up-front fee for

an ongoing membership site in the first place If I were

just after your money. Next Question-

Question #2:

“What is the main emphasis of this new product?”

Luke’s Answer:

More flexibility, more money, & from more sources. Also,

Much, much, much better tools and training for the most

difficult parts you’ve faced in the past.

The other good news is that I’ve agreed to help out over in the private members forum there which is a great and supportive community for those of you who don’t like to feel that you’re alone.

Also if you hit any parts of the Surefire Success system your confused about, you can post the question in the forum and you’ll typically get a response the same day or within 24 hours from me, Luke, or one of the more experienced members.

One of my goals for the forum is to run “Challenges” for any of you who’d like a little extra motivation to take action and start earning online.

The first challenge will be to help people take advantage of what Luke calls the “Money Trees” which are places that will pay you up front for content.

Here’s a quick rundown of the basic elements of the Surefire Success system and why we’ve put it #1 for both newbies and experienced home business owners:

1) You earn immediate cash using what Luke calls “Money Trees”.

Money Trees are sites that will often pay you up front for things such as articles, videos, recipes, book reviews, product reviews, movie reviews, etc.

Many of you have probably noticed that the demand for unique content online is growing rapidly right now. More and more sites will now either pay you up front for your content or pay you a percentage of their advertising revenue.

But what you may not realize is that you don’t have to be a phenomenal writer to profit from this phenomenon. The Surefire Success system shows you some of the easier ways to tap into these types of cash generators.

2) Sometimes you can earn both an upfront fee and residual income based on the number of times your page is viewed or based on clickthroughs on ads on the site that your article or video is on.

Not every MoneyTree pays recurring like this and some of them ONLY pay recurring and not up front for the articles, videos, reviews, recipes, etc.

3) You create a link back to either a website you currently own or build or if you don’t want to create a website you can link back to sites that allow you to easily put up pages like http://www.squidoo.com or http://www.hubpages.com which both make creating pages extremely easy.

If you want to create websites there are some nice free ways to do this now – especially a site called http://www.weebly.com

New MoneyTrees, residual income generators, and free traffic techniques are continually added to the SureFire Success system even though there’s only a one time fee (most sites like this would charge a monthly fee).

It’s been great getting to know some of you better over there and hope to meet and help more of you.

Paul

p.s., I really believe this is the system for you to use to take advantages of the major changes going on online today.

Some of you know that my background is in pay per click marketing and that I’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of my own money on advertising.

Here’s what’s amazing about what’s possible today…not only can you pay ZERO to advertise with all the techniques in Luke’s system, but in many cases you actually get paid to advertise.

Is homeassembly.biz legit?

Q:

Hello Paul,
Your web site seems to be really sincere.  Can you please tell me if the National Assemblers Association is legit? www.homeassembly.biz I’ve been burnt a lot and am desperate for
honest at home work.

Sincerely, Barbara

A:

Hi, Barbara

I was able to use my paid version of http://www.domaintools.com
to track down the original registrant of this domain as someone
using the name "Shaun McCandles".

Doing a search on his name I found the following at this
forum where the owner is reputable and generally gives
good advice:

http://friendsinbusiness.com/board1/archive4/index.cgi?read=114857

So I think you can draw you’re own conclusions from that.

You can start with the following free resources:

http://www.flexjobs.com
http://www.workathometruth.com/work-from-home-companies.php
http://www.workathometruth.com/work-at-home-phone-jobs.php

And make sure you still follow the rules here:
http://www.workathometruth.com/Rules.php

You may also want to consider writing articles for
Associated content – there’s a video towards the
bottom of this page:

http://hubpages.com/hub/Make_Money_Writing_for_the_Web

The only product I would suggest you buy – if your not
risking putting dinner on the table, etc, is the one reviewed
here:

http://www.workathometruth.com/InYourPJs-review.php

It does a great job of showing you how to really search
and find work correctly online. I try to do as much as
I can on this site, but the book does go into far
more detail.

I would also recommend you talk to the people in the Telecommuting
Moms forum at Wahm here:
