Telecommuting mania - leave your brain at home
One of the things that baffles us is how many questions we get about products that clearly are likely to be of little help to people in their questions for telecommuting products versus the number of people who try to do even the quickest analysis in search of the truth.
People will consider paying as much as $197.00 for a product that know nothing about before that delivers mountains of "work from home hope" before they will tap into their own brain and use free or reasonably priced resources to achieve their goals of working from home.
The term "telecommuting mania" seems to be a decent term for this phenomenon, since the definition of mania is:"…a severe medical condition characterized by extremely elevated mood, energy, and unusual thought patterns."
Let's take a look at one of the questions that came in recently and see if it qualifies as an example of telecommuting mania.
Q:
Processing from home rebates.Looks good but…………here is the link:
makemyincomeathome.com
A:
OK. Let's see if makemyincomeathome qualifies as telecommuting mania:
The promise: "If You Have 60 Minutes A Day, Here's A Certified, Proven And Guaranteed Way To Make $225 And More Every Day… The Easy Way… From Home!”
OK, we can pretty much stop right there.Apparently the person who asked about this believes he can make $225.00 in 60 minutes processing rebates at home.In facts he believes this about rebate processing jobs despite the fact that companies can easily pay people minimum wage or less than minimum wage (overseas) to do the very same work.
Seems like this definitely qualifies as an "unusual thought pattern" as described in the aforementioned definition of mania.
Hey, and wait a minute….Apparently Angela Penbrook is the #1 work at home consultant in America…but didn't we discover earlier that Angel Stevens from ProcessAtHome was the #1 Work at Home Consultant in America?
Man, is Angel going to be ticked off when she hears Angela's outrageous claims at ProcessAtHome.com!
Seriously though if you have some money to get rid of, I'm sure there's a ton of people who would be happy to take it off your hands.Or you could invest in something that could actually help you find a telecommuting job like InYourPJs or Little White eBook of HomeShoring Jobs…
Naah. You want to make $225.00/hour for doing "simple work at home".
For the rest of use who want to use your brain…

About a month ago I, purchased "How To Process Rebates At Home" from Angel Stevens. She made her program sound legit but I, feel it is not. She promised a sixty day money back gaurante if I, was not happy, I, am not. She gave her e-mail address so, that I, could contact her if I, wanted a refund, wich I, do. But when I, go to her web site I, get " This Page Has Expired". Can anyone HELP!!!
Eloy,
Did you purchase with a credit card? If so it sounds
like you're going to talk to your credit card company
and initiate a chargeback.
Click here to read about your chargeback rights.
I signed up today for rebate processing and now sorry I did. Tried calling the customer service #866-885-8126 only to be on hold for 11 minutes and then disconnected. Never spoke to a person. Came to this website only to find her page has expired. I also want my money back!!! How do I request a refund?
I also fell for the "too good to be true" job. The website offered nothing but an expired sign, and the phone call disconnected. How do I get my money back, and how can these people get caught?
Everybody Remember… If it sounds too good to be true, IT ALWAYS IS!!!!
Jtyler did you read my comment in response to Eloy Reyes Jr.?
By the way, anyone who's thinking of paying for a rebate processing position might want to do this word search puzzle I put up:
Rebate Processor Word Search
I can almost guarantee you'll come out further ahead financially!

This blog is actually telling you NOT to join any site that sells you the opportunity of processing rebates from home.

I suggest you spend your time playing the games we put up here as it should save you a lot of money and heartache.
The first one we put up is here: Rebate Processor Word Search Puzzle.
To whom it may concern :"Work at Home?" website: I paid $197. for this "Angela Penbrook Productions", I rec.'d in my e/m; I guess like Keven Ferell, I was scammed since I did not rec. anything that they said in the e/m, for the $197. they conned me.I gave them 8 days to clarify this matter, for some miraculous intervention, I was able to connect to their phone line, & click, option 2, & tal;ked to the saacctng. dept. I was given that very day my confirmation no that my order was cancelled, they said it will take @ least 24 hrs. to credit it back to me; my confirmation no. is:#632430533.
I did not get the credit back, today is already MArch 18/08, my order was cancelled Mar.11/08. I did not wait for 24 hrs. nor 72 hrs. I waited for 8 days for this clarification.I'M PREPARING NOW COPIES OF THE E/M THEY SENT ME & WILL SENT IT TO FTC, BBB, CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

Yes, I fell for this too. For those who are quick to despise us I would remind you that there are many of us (just about anyone in their 40's or over) who didn't learn about internet research growing up. Like many of my peers, I had no idea how easy it was to look into a company on the internet. I wouldn't know now if one of their own representatives told me not to use Google or Yahoo to get to their site. I wanted to know why, and now I know!
Like others before me, I also believed that the Truth in Advertising Act applied to All forms of advertising, and that someone who promised a refund was held to it by law. I guess that only works if you are prepared to hire an attorney.
For anyone else who is considering trying this I would note that I have made Three refund requests. To the first I recieved vague offers of assistance with the program (which never panned out); an email confirmation that my refund was being processed (it never was); and a confirmation number given over the phone for "resubmitting" the refund request (which has also not been honored). It does seem to me that there is a sufficient paper trail for some legitimate legal/criminal action to be taken against this company! (I saved all the information about contacts with this company from day 1). I care less about my own loss, (although I can ill afford it) than I do about the many other hardworking people who are desperate to find a second source of income to help them pay off their bills. It's disgusting that people too honest and hardworking to "go on the dole" are being preyed upon by the unethical.
I understand that people didn't learn to do internet research, but didn't they learn that you can't make $225/day filling out easy forms at home?
That's what I'm not quite getting. Obviously I don't want to blame the victims, but the whole thing just baffles me.
I have a page here that talks about how to get your money back based on how you paid:
Lets Talk About Rebate Processor Jobs.
Look for the section titled "How to Get Your Money Back".
I may be one of only a dozen or so people who ever actually got their money back from Angela Pembroke. It took about 3 months, and a lot of work, but what I did may help others. I kept track of all of my contact (and attempts to contact) this company, and all the responses (of lack of) from them. For me, this included e-mails (I saved both theirs, and mine), including one refund confirmataion which they never processed; and telephone calls (which included Two refund confirmations which were not processed); I had the date and time and general information of calls as well as emails. When nothing had been done, I sent them an email detailing what had been said and when, and let them know that I had enough documentation to prove my case should it be necessary to take further action (i.e., if I were to take it to small claims court). After that, I got my rebate. There is more than one number to call in on and I will try to get back soon and add the phone numbers I used.
This company is definitely dishonest. I personally would like to see this woman in jail.
Thanks Melanie. Hopefully this information will help other people in the same situation as well.
I think you mean "Angela Penbrook" not "Angela Pembroke".
