Are there government grants to start a business?

Q: Do you know of credible grants sources for starting a business?

A: Here's the correct information about government grants (you'll
see that they talk about the misleading "grants" commercials
here:

http://www.business.gov/guides/finance/financing/loans.html

However, if you are going into certain types of businesses
such as the writing field there are other options such as the
ones presented here:

http://www.fundsforwriters.com/

Other sites like http://www.prosper.com/ are now mainstream
as well. Currently Prosper has the best reputation of those
types of sites.

Hello, my name is Coretta M. Caldwell,I live in Chicago IL. I have been wanting to find something to do that I will enjoy, make money and not have to get out of bed until 9am.
I want to have two places of business. One with a sports bar where people can come and relax, another where people can have fine dining if they want. I know I can do this.
