Do you want me to do this?

I keep thinking of putting together a list of real home-based data entry companies (for free) for subscribers to work at home truth.

UPDATE: Click here for the list of real home-based data entry companies (for free).

If you’re more interested in home businesses, you can skip this, although you might want to read my "Good or Evil" review of a ten-dollar product marketers have probably been flooding your email boxes with here. I think I give a pretty unique perspective.

You can read the "Good or Evil" review here.

Otherwise, let’s talk about putting together the data entry company list (by the way, I’ve also been playing with Google alerts to see which keywords bring back the most legitimate results for telecommuting positions in general. I’ll let you know when I have enough data on that).

Here’s what holds me back.

  • Data entry jobs are incredibly hard to land because there’s so much competition.
  • A significant amount of data entry is done by overseas workers who are willing to do it for as little as $1.50/hour (not all data entry has moved overseas, but a lot of it has).
  • The people I’ve known who have found data entry positions have found it either through networking or volunteering for a company first.

However, it really wouldn’t take that long for me to put a list together. So I’d like to know two things:

1) Would you like me to compile the list.

2) Would you rather me put it up as a web pages or create a PDF document for you or both?

I’d appreciate it if you’d leave a comment letting me know. At least that way I know I’m not talking to myself. LOL. :-)

I think a listing would be great of legitimate data entries..I myself would try it, hesitant about pop ups, ads, etc….a pdf would be great :)

  2. Margaret says:

    Paul,

I have been working is sales of a building product for the last 6 or so weeks, calling about 200 people a day, monday through friday. So far I have not had one sale. I think that this is largely due to the home building slump. Therefore, I would love a job that would pay me for working. I would hope to make at least $10.00/hour, but at this point, I would like anything.

You can take this comment as a resounding YES. Either format would be great.

  6. Susan says:

It would be great to have a dependable list, like so many other people, I’ve been looking for something reputable and lucritive for over two years now and I am getting disgruntled by what there is.

  7. Missy says:

Yes! A list in any form of companies that hire without up-front fees would be greatly appreciated! Do you know of any work at home medical transcription positions that don’t require you to be certified? Or worked several years with an agency, etc. I’m an RN, with loads of computer and typing experience, (at least 60 wpm), and would love to do some medical transcription work. But I don’t want to have to pay thousands of $$$ for a course and re-learn most of what I already know just for someone to tell me I’m certified!

  8. Russ says:

I would appreciate any info you could provide concerning any legitimate work from home jobs.

  9. Greta says:

I think the list would be a very good idea and a huge help; I would prefer on PDF. Thanks.

  10. Karen says:

It would be nice to find something that was really legit, & honest. I’m not trying to get rich, just looking for some suplemental income ($500-$600/month) I would appreciate anything you post (in any format) that would help us find that. Thank-you in advance.

  11. Cynthia says:

Yes. Either .pdf or web pages are fine. Thanks!

    Hello

I would really appreciate it if you would put a list together of the real work at home data entry jobs that do not cost me money to get started with. I am disabled and have been looking for almost two years for something that I can do at home to make money. I also want to thank you for all your help and info that you are doing for us.

  16. admin says:

Thanks, Janice for letting me know about that.

Typically an attack like that isn’t server-side based, meaning it tends to come from the local computer.

There was a time in the past where there was an exploit to a hole in I.E.’s security that took advantage of that in combination with poorly formed web pages, but I’m certain that hole was closed long ago.

  17. admin says:

    Ken (Colby),

I would imagine you’re right about that.

I recall coming across a list of companies that hired appointment setters somewhere – it might have been in Lynie Arden’s Work at Home Sourcebook which a lot of local libraries have (or can be obtained through interlibrary loan).

Is your specialty building sales specifically or sales in general?

There’s no doubt it will be MUCH easier to find a sales or appointment setting job than a data entry telecommuting position.

I would love for you to find data entry jobs that are not scams.I just joined Keystrokes4Cash and it seems legitimate, but I’m not 100% sure.I hope it’s on your list.

  26. admin says:

Umm. No, companies like keystrokes4cash won’t be in there, if you’re talking about the one at keystrokes4cash.com.

That’s not real data entry work. That’s based on affiliate marketing.
