As an IT person, I'm used to folks screaming at me, for a mistake *they* made on their computers; at this point in my career, I simply refuse to accept disrespect, period. You did what you could, and that was enough. If he refused to accept the fact that he's not the smartest bulb on the tree, then that's his problem, not yours.
