Ad Surf Daily Blog Accepted by BlogCatalog!
I recently checked BlogCatalog and noticed the WorkAtHomeTruth blog was declined. I'm assuming it's because it's not a standalone blog. That's the only possible explanation.
6/25/2008 UPDATE: BlogCatalog just accepted the WorkAtHomeTruth blog today.
7/20/2008 update: New ASD Parody Song. Please don't take this song too seriously. Here's the deal…while I'm eminently qualified to comment on advertising value I will make no pretense to have any significant knowledge or understanding of comp plans such as ASD's…so this is a Parody song folks and is for entertainment purposes only. Yes, I am on the side of those who suggest you don't get involved in ASD, but I'm also willing to entertain the idea that I could be wrong.
With that in mind…here's the song:
Especially when I saw that they hilariously had accepted an Ad Surf Daily Blog. Ad Surf Daily is the stunningly bizarre program that people are buying into even though their advertising system costs about 1,000 to 4,000 times more than mainstream standards.
For example ASD Cash Generator – a.k.a. ASDCashGenerator promises you will get competitively priced views of your website…in fact…for just $1.00 you will get – and this is the really funny part – you will get ONE view of your website.
Wait. How is that competitive pricing when I can go to Adwords and get 1000 views of my website for as little as 25 cents?
Well, I guess that's what MyBlogCatalog considers a quality site. LOL.
It gets even funnier, though.
I'm not 100% sure if the following is true, but according to a friend of mine ASD Cash Generator recently put out this announcement:
" >
> Months ahead of schedule Google and ASD Offer Universe are now teaming up to
> show Google ads on the site. Google, after seeing all of the major
> advertisers already being shown on www.asdofferuniverse.com agreed to enter
> into a relationship with ASD. This is a huge development because ASD is PAID
> every time someone just CLICKS on one of the Google ads on the top of each
> category page. You, as an ASD member can now simply click on the Google ads
> without even having to buy a thing or fill out a lead and ASD is paid. The
> payment for each click can be as high as $5.00 a click."
Ummm. Isn't that called putting up Adsense on a website, something just about anybody can do for free?
Oh, and isn't encouraging clicking on adsense ads against Google Adsense terms of service? Hmm. Google apparently seems to think so here:
6/25/2008 12:10 PM Central Time Update:
It gets even better! Ad Surf Daily has sent out instructions teaching people how to click on Google Adsense Ads on their site. LOL. Whoa, doggy.
This is my favorite part of what they apparently sent out (again this is according to my friend):
"10) Click on at least 10 ads a day each day. This means that you steps 3 through 7 described above ten times. If all ASD members do this each day the money will come pouring in and augment the rebates and bonuses that ASD is paying out."
But I'm just one guy. Let me know what YOU think about all this.

I too heard of this its the craziest thing I have ever heard of not only are they telling their users to click on Google Ads in a mass email (big no no with Google) but they are claiming that Google approached them. All I can say is WOW!!!
Great post.
10:51 pm
You obviously have not talked to anybody about how this really works. Hundreds of people are being paid hundreds of dollars every day because they are surfing the web, they are paid from "profit sharing" and sharing their own businesses with others who are surfing a rotator, thousands of these, myself included, are getting business for the posted website that is being viewed on the rotator – look a little deeper, and when you understand exactly what is happening here perhaps you will change your "look"
Your advertising becomes FREE with rebates and you can earn 25% on your purchase!
In order to earn a rebate, an advertiser must have an active ad package. The minimum ad purchase is only $10.00. The purpose of the rebate program is to reward purchasers for viewing and visiting the web sites of other advertisers. This creates an internal network beneficial to all advertisers and their businesses.
When a web site owner purchases ad packages, he/she is qualified to be paid rebates for viewing other web sites. The rebates are paid from ad purchase sales of the Cash Generator, the sale of banner ads on the Cash Generator, sale of ebooks and any other products that ASD decides to market.
Rebate Distribution
Ad purchases and funds from other sales will be totaled at midnight each night and 50% of the gross sales will be rebated to ad purchasers.
Every night at midnight the number of eligible ad packages will be totaled and divided into the total ad package sales and other income sources to determine the amount of the rebate for each ad package. That amount will be multiplied by the number of ad packages in each advertiser's account and the total will be credited to his/her cash balance account. Rebates will show up in your account after midnight CST.
To maintain the stability of the program the daily rebate will be capped at 8%. Any excess will go into a reserve account to be used when rebates are extremely low. Five percent of ad sales, banner sales and ebook sales on the Cash Generator will be placed in the reserve account to be used for the same purpose.
Eleven percent of ad sales, banner sales and ebook sales will be used for advertising, hosting, site maintenance, administrative costs, customer support and profit.
* Five percent will be used for contests and raffles.
* Five percent will be placed in a reserve account to be paid as rebates when needed.
* Fifteen percent will be used for referral commissions.
* Fourteen percent will be paid to various boards, trainers and designers.
Ad Packages and Credits
Each ad package is $1.00 and is made up of 1 credit. You get 1 showing of your web site for each credit. The minimum ad purchase is $10.00. The minimum cash out is $10.00.
You receive 1 credit (1 showing of your web site) for each site you view. You must view 24 web sites each day for 15 seconds each to receive your daily rebate. Viewing 24 sites daily will provide you with enough credits to keep your web site showing everyday.
You can view a maximum of 72 web sites per day. This will enable you to keep 3 web sites showing on a daily basis. You can show one web site, view web sites and earn credits even as a free member.
Your advertising becomes FREE with rebates and you can earn 25% on your purchase!
I currently have over 4000 credits, thats $4000 dollars worth of advertising, i have built up an ad package to almost $400 with a $70 investment – I have people calling to ask about my business, as opposed to being in competition with millions of others on google, my entire front page is viewed for 15 seconds as opposed to a few words of a google link that i hope will catch your attention among a list of millions of others, this is an AMAZING opportunity, getting paid, making money, and getting calls my – upline is pulling down over $250 per day! dig a little deeper before you laugh at this, and do some research on the founder Andy Bowdoin

I agreed with you,but I'm new to the internet and I don't understand everything. After reading some comments I think that more research needs to be done to see what it's about.

First of all, I am not affiliated with the above Nunya. I've been posting online since 1996 as either Nunya or Nunya82.
Secondly, this is just the latest twist on a version of marketing that MLM companies promote. If you don't believe me look at this quote from his last paragraph: "my – upline is pulling down over $250 per day!"
What's going to happen is the people who started it and/or got in early will make money. Most people will not, however, especially if it gets slammed by Google for violataing their policies.
Go to the following website for another person's view:

Two more quick comments.
First, in researching this I was amazed at how many people claimed they did their "due diligence" in checking out the company's claims. Due Diligence, or research, is the buzz words ALL MLM promoters use to get people to check out an opportunity. If you hear "due diligence" being spouted out its a sure sign that an MLM promoter is in there somewhere.
Second, go to the following website and scroll down to the latest entries near the bottom and read what people are saying about Ponzi scams.

I hope this helps people.

And for those who may not look for it, warning from the SEC about autosurf programs:
http://www.sec.gov/investor/pubs/autosurf.htm
6:49 am
Nunya82:
Thanks for your insightful posts and reference links. Yes, you are right THAT is what is REAL due diligence, eh?
Let's take a very, VERY simple look at how these plans work and keep one important question in mind: "Where does the money come from and why does it come in"? (I guess that's two questions. LOL)
Okay, let's start at the beginning (good place to start, eh).
Joe Advertiser purchases $100 worth of "ad packs". (Forget for a minute that he's buying 100 hits to his site that are available elsewhere for $.001 to $.05).
This $100 is INSTANTLY allocated out as part of the daily "revenue share".
So, now, the company, ASD, "owes" him $125 (his principal back plus 25%). It could take a few weeks, a few months or a few years to pay this amount back depending on the inflows.
The company, in the most recent 20 day reporting period has reported an average of $2MM inflow per DAY, monies used to purchase this "advertising".
That means that ASD has to bring in $2.5MM to cover one day of future revenue share. $2.5MM is 25% more than the original $2MM.
That may seem difficult, but, here' the scary part: For each $100 in purchases the company needs to bring in $250!!
Why?
Because only 50% of purchases are allocated to the revenue share pools. The rest is bonuses, admin, overhead, profit, etc.
So, 50% of $250 new purchase is $125 which is the amount needed to cover the 25% bonus and original purchase.
So, the $2MM Daily purchases average noted above actually requires $5MM Daily to cover the promised returns.
That's CRAZY!!
And, the numbers just get bigger and bigger in order to keep the system rolling!!
Think about the absurdity of that. . . . . .
Yahoo did $1.8 BILLION in the first quarter of this year (http://www.itshrunk.com/4912d1 – Click on "Income Statement").
That's $20MM a Day.
Are you telling me that ASD has any reason to be generating 25% of Yahoo's revenue with this flimsy model with no discernable assets?
Folks, this is nutz!
Don't be the fool that's parted from their money!

As long as you contribute to the conversation here, you are welcome to do a "sig file" type link after your post. i.e. three lines of text + one line to link to your site.

Thanks for this information. I'm very new to this type of thing and really appreciate having the experts explain everything!
I work from my home in Syracuse, NY as a Psychic Medium
and a Certified Hypnotherapist. I have a website and a blog, and will be featured on a local TV show for the 2nd time next week. I'm trying to find more ways to advertise and market myself, and learning about this, and knowing it's potential hazards, is very helpful.
Thanks again,
Debbie

Hi Debbie:
I clicked on your link just for grins to see what you've got going on and it didn't take me to a site.
It looks like you are using Aweber to track your hits which is GREAT, but, I think you need to make sure you put your destination URL in the Aweber system so it knows where to take us when we click the tracking link. .
You might want to check it out at your aweber account.

I'm not a part of Ad Surf Daily but I have been looking at it. One thing that gets me is that some of you sit here and act like there is something wrong with MLM. Yes there are some MLM companies that are no good, just like there are some companies in "corporate America" that are no good. MLM is just another way of marketing products. Some day you people may step out of the middle ages and into the future. I remember when I first started a commercial embroidery business in my home. I didn't dare mention that I worked from my home because there were some weird people out there that thought it was awful that I worked from my home. I had a couple, when they heard that my business was in my home say, "Oh I don't like that," and they wouldn't do business with me. Now who doesn't have a home office. Many do most or all of their work from home.

Hi everyone, first time on this site. Something about As Surf Daily, that has not been brought up yet is this. It was asked how can they continue to pay out there 125% bonuses? What about the Large Corporate Advertisers? Like Honda, Ebay, Satarbucks, etc? They pay millions into the coffers of ASD daily and they do not get a return on their money. ASD has just gotten 400 new paying Corporate Advertisers. So, it will continue, as long as the member numbers grow and advertisers see this as a way for consumers to be forced to look at their ads. As the members increase, so will the amount of money they will be able to ask of paying companies.

Pete's pointed out to me that Rod Cook has picked up ASD here:

Hi Cate:
Do you have any firm evidence that ANY of those advertisers have actually entered into a contractual arrangement to purchase advertising?
I've heard that rumor for weeks and have never seen one scintilla of real evidence other than heresay.
Just like Glasnost in the '80's "Trust but Verify". I've seen no verification.

ASD is the BEST program I've ever been involved with period. Believe me, I've tried many. I don't waste my time with skeptics. There's no need to. I'll be out of a J.O.B. soon. Thanks.

I joined ASD in April and it's turned out to be the best opportunity that I've ever worked (if you can call it work)!
My husband and I now have a choice as to whether or not we want to work our insurance business.
I would recommend that anyone looking at ASD should go ahead and join for free, purchase whatever amount of ads that you are comfortable with and then see for yourself if it works for you.
There are always a lot of naysayers out there who care more about appearing smart, but can hurt your success if you listen to them. Find out for yourself and form your own opinion.
Wishing you the best!

I am not in ASD. Your comment is ignorant. There are legitimate MLM companies that generate lots of income for lots of people. I'm one of them, and have been for 14 years. Whethe r or not ASD is a scam or not is no reflection on any other MLM. ASD is not MLM. Please keep your uninformed comments to yourself as others will read this and perhaps mistake your opinion as truth. You've been posting for 12 years, haven't you been paying attention to the business world?
1:34 am
I am curious about ASD. Ihave been in many network marketing groups and from what I have read and researched ASD seems as real as it gets. With most network marketing groups thier success is on signing up members for a fee and some make you buy products. Can this be for real? I have ran numerous spreadsheets and calculations on the match and 25% bonus and if you do the right split on your cashout this can establish a great residual income. Now like most programs this is if it is too good to be true it is but I am having a hard time not finding this a working program. I know from having a website at one time and being contacted by vendors to advertise their store and if they recevied purchases from individuals linking from my site I received a commission or a in store credit when I would buy from there. Is this the same type of system? If so then I believe this is the real deal. Any thoughts?
10:53 pm
Yes, COHO & Brad are correct in that there are legitimate MLM companies out there that sell product. Some are even publicly traded like Avon & NuSkin. Some products are great, others not so much. Some compensation programs are great, others not so much. A small percentage of MLMs do pitch products that don't work, are scammy, and purely designed to make the orignators rich.
Case in point: Awareness Life. They pitch some really great products, but a couple of years ago they changed their compensation scheme because they got greedy, and a lot of the MLMers left the company to go elsewhere.
ASD is not an MLM. It is a pyramid scheme that is totally reliant on growth for survival. Those of you who made money, please pay very close attention to what I'm about to say:
You're money did not originate from an external revenue stream. It came from other people like you who joined after you did. Ask yourself, how can the company stay solvent if you get a payout greater than your input, if there is no external stream of revenue?
11:11 pm
Bye bye ASD.

I think blogcatalog suck…im serious about it..They tolerate poeple to encourage each one to click each other’s ad which is a violation to other advertising companies like google adsense..They release information about CTR to the public whic his a violation to google thats why some advertisers are backing off from people who are a member of blogcatalog due to this reason and these people lose money. Also the traffic credit for the blogs submitted by members are creditted to blogcatalog not to the users. I dont see any benefit at all..They disable your account without any notice and will reply in one sentence with a note in the end “HAVE A NICE DAY”.. After disabling your account, they keep your information and continue to receive updates from blogcatalog. My account was disabled too and sent them email why and I got a one sentence reply from Daniel and in the end he said have a nice day..What a fu__kin asshole! Very polite.
