Unsolicited Free Trial Threat!
Awesome.
I just got this unsolicited free trial "threat"…
Even though the product looks like it might be useful, I'm not going to reveal what it is here…I still need to really check it out.
I just love how this company approached me to help them spread the word about their product by threatening me with an unlimited free trial!
Hi there,
I hope I'm not bugging you, but I thought you might be interested in my new [product name removed] which I think would work great on your site.
I'd like to give you a [free product] today so you can use it with your own [removed], but not as a so-called "free trial" — actually free for you to use on your site, with absolutely no strings attached. Seriously!!
[website link removed]
The [product removed] works great on any web page, profile, blog or eBay auction, takes only a few minutes to setup (if that), and helps you build instant trust and credibility for your product, service or the topic at hand.
If you're looking for "the catch," don't bother, you won't find one. I'm just trying to spread the word about my new service and I'm able to give away the free player to selected sites because most people that try it are so impressed with the positive affect on their sales & conversions, that they come back for a custom-designed player or my pro audio services (how I get paid) — so it works out for everyone and there's no obligation at all, even if you decide to never come back.
I hope you'll check out my site (before I discontinue the free players)… Let me know if you have any questions about [product removed] and I look forward to working with you soon.
Cheers and here's to your success,
-[name removed]
My comments: OK. It looks like it could be a useful product. But it's a somewhat confusing and not-so-benign message:
"Try my free product NOW or ELSE! Oh and you'll love it so much you'll want to PAY me so I was just kidding about the "able to give selected sites" part…
and
"Really, I did kind of mean to bug you."
