Megalido promises not to steal your money (phew!)…
Whenever an online website promises me that they won't steal my money and that they are not a thief I quickly breathe a huge sigh of relief…
This is one of the promise that Megalido makes and as any competent online business owner knows promises and follow-through are what drive successful businesses – and possibly odd-shaped icons and logos that look sort of like canoes (oh, they're surfboards…now i see the "catch the wave" motto).
Also within the Megalido "promise inventory" is the declaration that they will not do the "HAR". If you don't know what a HAR is Megalido is kind enough to provide a proper definition: it's the "Hit and Run".
OK, let's do a little recap here:
- Won't steal money.
- Not thiefs.
- Won't do the HAR.
So far so good, although I think if I were to join such a program (which I wouldn't) I would definitely call them up and make sure they aren't going to steal my money and that they're not thiefs.
I think just asking them would do the trick there.
A most baffling tagline…
Megalido calls themselves "The Star of Autosurfs".
For some reason if I were running an online business I'm not sure this is the claim to victory I would want to make – although I wouldn't use a weird looking canoe – I mean surfboard – as a logo either…so what the heck do I know (I'm sure I'll be getting a lot of interesting answers to THAT question).
I mean claiming to the "The Star of Autosurfs" is like calling yourselves…um…hmmm…
I think I'll save that one for the comments. Maybe someone can come up with a good analogy there.
One things clear. They should change their tagline to:
"Megalido – We Won't Steal Your Money!"
Update: I've put together a handy list of questions for you to go through in order to help you evaluate autosurf opportunities. I think most of this stuff you can just ask the owners or admins of the program:
- Will you steal my money?
- Are you a thief?
- Do you plan to be known as a "HAR" at a future date?
- Would you consider your program an illegal security?
- How long have you been in business? (The shorter the better).
- Just confirming again that you're not going to steal my money.

Interesting they want to insure everyone they are not a thief, will steal your money, and do a HAR. I was looking at a few major financial websites, and I did not see this assuarnce they would not steal my money, were not thieves, and would not do a HAR. I E-mailed them letting them know they needed to add those stipulations to their Home Page so more people would feel more comfortable in doing business with them. In fact, I think all companies should begin doing this to make people more secure in doing business with them.
But of course the question must be asked, if they do run, they do steal the money, are they thieves? Will they then try to use this defense in court if they are caught?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Hilarious, Lynn.
By the way, if anyone else reading this hasn't checked out Lynn's site at Eagle Research Associates I highly recommend you do to get some extremely insightful information about how various scams work and why some of the scams people claim are "legal" are NOT legal at all.
