Hello and thanks for the information you have provided. I am a little unclear on a concept though and thought that maybe you could help me.
In his step by step process near the bottom he says in day 2 step 2 to write your first 3 articles.
I need to know if I understand this correctly, is he saying I need to write 3 articles each based on a different keyword using the method he suggests, and then submit all 3 to the same source?
I think I got confused because all three articles will basically say the same thing. The place we submit them wont have a problem with this?
Thank you.
Hi.
You need to write 3 articles based on 3 different keywords.
The 3 keywords are from the 30 keywords you find in Day 1, step 1.
You then pick ONE of those articles and rewrite it and submit it to:
- ArticleSender
- ArticlesBase
- Idea Marketers
- GoArticles
Similarly on Day 3 - the 7 articles you write for EzineArticles are 7 articles based on 7 different keywords - again from the research of 30 long-tail keywords you did on Day 1.
Hi,
Im also a bit confused with the 7 day plan as well.
So from the 30 long tail keywords you found, you pick one keyword for each article and write each article differently according to the niche?
Day 2 it says to send 3 to ezinearticle and then rewrite one and send it to the other article directories so for the last one you can choose to use which keyword you want then?
Oh yea one more question,
from day 4 and on,
it says write 7 more but do we use the same 30 long tail keywords we found again or do we find new ones because we already used them for the first 10 articles for day 2 and 3?
Hi Patrick,
Let me know if this helps:
Day 1:
Find the 30 long-tail keywords:
keyword-1
keyword-2
keyword-3
keyword-4
keyword-5
keyword-6
keyword-7
keyword-8
.
.
.
keyword-30
Day 2:
Write articles for EzineArticles
Write a separate article for three of the keywords
you found on day 1:
keyword-1 - article 1
keyword-2 - article 2
keyword-3 - article 3
Rewrite ONE of the articles you
just wrote for EzineArticles and
submit that article to the article
directories mentioned in
Day 2, part 3
Day 3:
Write articles for EzineArticles
Write one article for 7 of the
keywords you found on day 1
keyword-4 - article 4
keyword-5 - article 5
keyword-6 - article 6
keyword-7 - article 7
keyword-8 - article 8
keyword-9 - article 9
keyword-10 - article 10
Rewrite ONE of the previous articles and
submit it to the article directories mentioned
in Day 3, part 2
You keep going on like this until you have used up the original 30 keywords you found on day 1. At that point you can find another set of 30 keywords for the first niche you targeted and repeat the process OR you can find a new niche and repeat the process.
Of course if the first niche isn't doing well for some reason, you're probably best off going to a new niche.
Personally I'd recommend you keep going to new niches and then monitor the traffic/sales for which one is really taking off and then focus more articles on those.
thx that helps alot
Great. Let me know if you get stuck anywhere else.

Hi,
Im still confused about how to find long tail keywords exactly? He recommends using google keyword or keyword tracker but I dont know how to use them to get long tail keywords?
Hi Patrick,
Wow. I'm really glad you asked this question Patrick. I try to look at the products I recommend from the standpoint of someone who has NO online marketing experience yet, and on this one I apparently filled in some details based on my experience without even realizing it.
I can fill in the gaps here, though:
He was bit too brief in section 3.1 How to find the Right Keywords to Rank Top 10 in Google.
Note: I'd recommend you stick with the Google Keyword Tool. I used WordTracker for years, but nowadays I don't really think it's necessary.
Note: In online marketing keyword and keyword phrase mean the same thing.
So here we go:
Finding Long-tail Keywords - Step by Step
The product I selected was this one:
SaveMyMarriageToday
Which met his product selection criteria.
Now on to the steps for finding long-tail keywords as discussed in section 3.1
STEP 1: Find some root keyword phrases.
A root keyword is a short keyword phrase that other keyword phrases include.
i.e. save marriage is a root keyword
keywords built off of it would include:
how to save marriage
save a marriage
save my marriage
save your marriage
how to save a marriage
how to save your marriage
can save marriage
help save marriage
how to save my marriage
help save my marriage
how to save your marriage alone
how do you save a marriage
how to save a broken marriage
I found those and many others by plugging the root keyword into the Google Keyword tool at:
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
Keep the default match type of "broad" for this step
Note: he briefly talked about this in Part 2, but he didn't go into enough detail.
I try to come up with 4 or 5 root keywords to start with.
Probably the easiest way to find good root keywords is to first think of one or more off the top of your head and then plug that keyword into the Google Keyword Tool and check the "Use synonyms" checkbox.
When you get the results scroll down until you see the section called:
"Additional keywords to consider" and then sort that list by relevance.
That will give you additional root keywords to consider.
You want the root keywords to have a monthly search volume (previous month search volume) of at least 5000. Above 10,000 is ideal (that's discussed in part 2).
So in this case I plugged 'save marriage' into the Google Keyword tool and got the following root keywords from the
"Additional keywords to consider" section:
marriage advice - monthly search volume 33,100
marriage help - monthly search volume 27,100
marriage problems - monthly search volume 27,100
marital problems - monthly search volume 9,900
stop divorce - monthly search volume 12,100
marriage communication - monthly search volume 12,100
There's a technical reason why some of those search volume numbers are coming out the same that has to do with how Google's broad match works - but it doesn't matter for this part.
You just want to find the root keywords with search volume of over 5000.
STEP 2: Generate long-tail keywords from one of the root keywords
Plug the first root keyword back into the Google Keyword Tool. In this case I'll plug 'save marriage' into the keyword tool.
Use Exact Match.
Uncheck the synonyms checkbox as you don't need it for this.
You will get a list of keywords that include the root keyword.
Click the "Approx Search Volume: Month" tab until the list is sorted from highest search volume to lowest search volume.
You are looking for a search volume of at least 300 searches per month.
Usually if you find a longer keyword phrase that meets the search volume requirement you'll have more success in the next step.
For example, here are the keywords that came back for 'save marriage' when I plugged 'save marriage' into the Google Keyword Tool using Exact Match:
Keywords - Approx Search Volume: October
[save my marriage] - 3600
[how to save a marriage] - 2900
[save your marriage] - 2400
[how to save your marriage] - 1900
[save marriage] - 1900
[how to save my marriage] - 1000
[save my marriage today] - 880
[how to save your marriage alone] - 720
[how to save marriage] - 590
[save a marriage] - 480
[ways to save a marriage] - 390
[help save marriage] - 320
[how to save a broken marriage] - 320
[save this marriage] - 320
[prayer to save a marriage] - 260
[steps to save a marriage] - 260
[stop your divorce save your marriage] - 260
[book marriage save] - 210
[help save my marriage] - 210
[separation save marriage] - 210
[save marriage from divorce] - 170
[alone marriage save] - 140
[save my marriage advice] - 140
[save a failing marriage] - 110
[save marriages] - 110
[to save my marriage] - 110
[help save your marriage] - 91
[to save marriage] - 58
[failing marriage save] - 46
[how to save the marriage] - 22
[save marriage affair] - 22
[help save a marriage] - 12
STEP 3: - Take the long-tail keywords with at least 300 searches per month.
Note: In this step I'd suggest you order your final list from longest keyword phrase to shortest keyword phrase.
So mine looks like this:
how to save a broken marriage - 320
how to save your marriage alone - 720
how to save my marriage - 1000
how to save a marriage - 2900
how to save your marriage - 1900
ways to save a marriage - 390
save my marriage today - 880
how to save marriage - 590
save your marriage - 2400
help save marriage - 320
save this marriage - 320
So I've started this list with two keyword phrases that have six words in them:
how to save a broken marriage - 320
how to save your marriage alone - 720
And ended it with keyword phrases that have 3 words in them:
help save marriage - 320
save this marriage - 320
The reason I ordered the list this way because usually (not always) longer keyword phrases have less competition.
Now check for competition
Now, you check EACH of the above keywords for competition using the allintitle: technique discussed in the book.
Tools like MicroNicheFinder.com automate most of this process, but I recommend you do it by hand for a while as I think you'll understand what's going on better if you do decide to invest in a more automated tool.
There are more sophisticated tools that check many more factors than just allintitle:
but for this system it's really all you need as you're leveraging the ranking power of
the article directories.
====================================================
Let me know if that helped and thanks for asking that question.
Thx for the indepth answers.
One thing that's been bugging me is the article submsission.
Unique Article wizard is more expensive at 60 bucks per month and i saw in their forum that they're currently having technical problems with their submission service. Article Post Robot is what Davion suggested b/c its only a time payment of like $147 i think. He said he uses both but suggest I start with APR then once i can afford UAW, go for it. So what are your opinions?
Patrick,
UAW does fit well with the way David does the initial research for the articles. It has to do with the fact that "spins" of UAW are based more on 'combinations' than on pure keyword/phrase replacement.
If that doesn't make any sense, don't worry. I can't really say anymore without violating their non-disclosure agreement. I'll just say it is a good fit for David's method.
I haven't used UAW in a long time because when they first came out there was some evidence that they were possibly breaking some article directories T.O.S., but I'm sure that's all been sorted out by now.
I've not used ArticlePostRobot personally, but I know it's generally considered very good.
I've been beta testing a couple of new article submitters that are a bit less expensive, but I'll need to check with the owners to see if they'll be released soon enough for you to even consider.
However, having said that, probably the smartest move for you WOULD be to start with ArticlePostRobot, because there are a lot of users, so if you do run into any issues, not only do you have their customer support, but also other users of the product for help.
If you're not a member of the WarriorForum you might want to join as there's quite a lot of ArticlePostRobot users there.
Paul
Hi,
Do you know how to post the links in your resource box for ezine articles but I want to mask it. For ex. Find out how you can make money online "here." The "here" should allow them to click and direct them to my website.
Hi Patrick,
You can create a link as shown in the first example under
the section called The Anchor Tag and the Href Attribute here
Hi,
I was wondering if instant article wizard would be a good investment? Has anyone purchase it before? Seems like there alot of tools out there that can help speed up article marketing but they all costs quite a bit of money if you add them all up.
Patrick,
I used it for a while, but didn't feel I really needed it. I did like the tool and even made some suggestions for the PRO version that were implemented.
I think it really depends on each person. There are a lot of people who swear by it.
I just happen to be a really fast researcher and writer anyhow.
Hey Paul,
Thx for the help. Im also currently using wordpress.com, do you know any effective way to get top organic listing? I know it involves good content with the keywords and backlinking but is there tool out there that speeds up this process?
Patrick, I know some people use linking platforms like LinkSerp, 3WayLinks and such. You can see a review/comparison of those two by Michael Brown here:
LinkSerp
Also, I saw that Jon Leger just put out this:
One Way Links
These could be of interest to you:
Getting High Authority Backlinks.
BackLink Builder is a service where Angela Edwards provides you with sites that allow you to link from them - usually high authority sites.
There are also places that allow you to link from them such as the four blogs available at http://www.blurbosphere.com - I had some trouble with being able to post there recently but it could just be that I missed the password change.
I have a bunch of places like that I should be organizing anyhow. So I'll get them together for you.
