BradsMoney – Where's that Government Check?

Update: The list of sites has grown to long to keep track of and people found this write-up confusing. Also this page is commentary and observations about affiliate websites. It does not offer opinions, observations, or commentary about the offers being promoted through the sites as often affiliates run websites that company's they are promoting don't even know about.

Here are the main points:

  1. There are many sites using the same names with different photos.
  2. There are many sites with different names showing the SAME check.
  3. There are many sites with the same photo with different names.
  4. The routing number on the check that many of the sites share is invalid.

Here is where to check routing numbers for checks:

http://www.routingnumbers.org/

Note, I initially stated that the checking account shown on BradsMoney.com was supposed to be Brad's checking account when I should have stated that it's supposed to be Google's checking account – you'll see in the comments where someone corrected me on that.

So far I've only tracked the same photos being used with various names and stories manually. At the time I attempted to use the new image search engine http://www.tineye.com to track that I didn't have much success although it's been successful with other photos.

Paul,

This is the best site for work at home seekers. Your advice is top notch and second to none. The best part with brad's money people miss is the name blanked out :) Which to me would be the MAIN thing to include. Thanks for the info! You are a saint.

I've seen this ad out there as well. I work for a bank and am very familiar with the MICR (the numbers on the bottom of the checks). You are correct, this routing number 1) does not exist and 2) the number listed as the routing number is also the same number as the check number in the upper right hand corner. When checks are encoded the check number is NOT the same as the routing number nor is the check number encoded where the routing number should be. This check has to be fake. Also note if this was a REAL check, he is not displaying his personal checking account number but rather the account number for Google! Something I believe they would be quite displeased with. I guess this just follows the old saying, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is!

They are advertising all over Myspace now…officially, I assume since they are appearing in the advertising spaces along with legitimate companies and organization. I was suspicious because of the "Make $5,000 a month" comments. It is also saying, "As seen on Oprah, CNN, FOX News, NBC, and CBS."

I quickly found this site and contacted myspace to report it because I'm sure they will find many victims if they aren't stopped quickly.

Thanks so much for all the great information. I always look forward to reading the information you provide. I have been trying to start something on line that is truly legit with a shoe string budget but most of the information out there does not give you all the information as to how much money start-up money it will take to making money. So I have also been looking at different grant offers on the net to get the money to get going but finding a legit web site is the challenge.Brad's Money is one that I had looked at I'm so glad your review set me straight!

I now have a great favor to ask. What have you heard of Cheriff Medawar. He is a self-proclaimed commercial real estate mogul who wants to teach people how to make a fortunate. And claims he is doing the training for the love of it. Wants to see general people succeed but still he charges $5000.00 for a 3-days training real estate video and leads.

This is good informatiom, but what is the point of their sites if they aren't made for creating money, but sending you off to some other site to put money in someone elses hands. Unless they actually run those sites to.

Note from Paul at WorkAtHomeTruth: Edited the first part out. Sorry Jeff (nothing Jeff did wrong, folks).

Here's the best part of Jeff's post:

First I would like to say thank you … Thank you Paul!!
What you are doing is a great service to many. I hope you will receive 10 fold.

I do want to share with all of you who have posted here and who are following after me, I know of a woman who is a grant writing specialist and teaches/coaches people with grant writing needs. I am NOT an affiliate and I wont make a single penny if you do buy any thing from her. If your interested about learning more go to http://www.grantmerich.com/ I believe her to be real and honest. I bought one of her books and she list her name and phone number there on her site. I even called her to ask a question (about my book being shipped) and got her on the first try. I should be writing my own blog !! LOL so anyway Her name is Jillian Coleman Wheeler check her out if you like.

Now… to help out Paul and Vinny …
About real estate… first, Paul, John T Reed is a B.S. artist straight from the B.S. School… His b.s. list of rei guru's is simply made up because he knows there site is better. I was in a long website discussion about him and what he does.. google his name too!! I wouldnt recommend him. Now Im just giving my advise so please dont get offended. I would recommend (Vinny you need this info) and (so does everyone else wanting to do RE Investing) get involved in discussions about rei on website forums there are many of them, ask questions and read read read. Get a mentor if you can afford one and learn everything you can about rei before you go try it. I took 2 yrs learning before I did my first deal. I specialize in 1 area and will master it before moving on to another. I will end my microblog here and leave a list of real estate investing forums websites for people to get educated with.

you can follow me on twitter if you like.

The John T. Reed site is pretty thorough. His main gripe with these gurus, especially that idiot Rich Dad Poor Dad guy, is that all of them have actually made more money selling books than the actual businesses they promote.

Also, I feel bad for the people in the photos on those scam sites. I'm pretty certain they were just stolen from people's personal sites. How'd you like a photo of your family vacation at Disney posted on one of these scam sites?

Hi, Paul,

Jeff Smith turned me on to your blog – great work!
Jeff mentioned my website on grants in an earlier comment.

Hi, Paul. Please add this to your list "lindasbailoutblog.com". Those websits look all the same. They charge $1 to $5 for shipping and then every month charge $50! And they keep it in pending after you place the order until the 7th (sometimes 14th) day trial is up and, obviously, they have their money before you can cancel on the 7th or 14th day.

Hi friends, I need your help.
Have you ever heard about MyWorldPlus? Last week I received an email from myworldplus.com. It said that one of their associate positioned me as a pre-enrollee, so once I upgrade to be a member I can get commission from the other pre-enrollees below me when they upgrade to be a member. I checked their website, it looks like an MLM business, selling a discout membership card that members can use to eat, shopping, travel at discount price, and they have some detailed information about the products, the pay plan and the system which make it look like a legit website. The cost for joining is $50 one-time set up fee plus $20 monthly membership fee. I did some research online, and found somebody says the discount card does not work. I have no idea if it's a scam or not. Anybody has ever heard about this? Do you have any suggestions? Should I take a chance?

Dont do it… Check out other options, if you dont know where to look then start searching facebook and twitter and find legit people who can offer work from home opportunities.

Paul (and all other scam killers) ….thanks so much for all the information provided on your honest up-and-up site. I'm 74 (but very, very hip) and am looking to make some additional money as Social Security is not too social and sure as hell ain't secure! (Note: I'll not use paragraphs.) I was close to "biting" on a couple of the schemes you outlined, but because of your (and others') notes, declined to do so. Methinks that "investing" in one of the "makeatonofmoneybssite.suckers" is about the same as one of the various Nigerian (and other countries) 419 scams. Only wanted you to know I appreciate your input. Older people get scammed, in my opinion, a lot more and easier than younger people. Take care ….thanks, again.

2:32 pm #

Rick: Sorry about that …happened to me, too. Call the 800 number(s) that appear on your credit card or bank statement belonging to the company who charged you. Simply ask for a refund ….I usually tell them that I didn't see the "small print" where they tell you they're going to charge you up the ying-yang for their "product". That usually works. Of course, if they do no comply (they probably will), call your bank/credit card company and lodge a "merchant complaint". The bank/credit card company will issue a "temporary credit" until they investigate. Typically, the temp credt will flop to permanent in a week or so. Don't think you'll have a problem getting your money back ….it'll just take time and effort on your part. Good luck. Bob

Bob King
7:34 pm #

For "UNEARTHLY MOTHER" …..I can't make any sense out of your vitriolic message. You calling me a "Christian opportunist"? What the hell is that?

If you are, you sure don't know me! For starters, I'm not a Christian, or Buddhist, or Muslim, or Hare Krishna, or any other form of organized religion.

I may be an opportunist, however. I had the "opportunity" to defend this country from Communist agressors during the Korean conflict. I took advantage of that opportunity in order for peeps like you to rant without any fear of reprisal. That was the "good ol' country boy" in me …opportunistic as I am. If it weren't for me and thousands of men and women like me, you'd be speaking friggin' Korean or Russian.

And, too, I don't fully understand the term "whackoff" ….what the hell is a "whackoff"?

So, "unearthly mother", you'd better have half a Moon Pie and and RC Cola, calm down and raise your kids.

If you'd like, you may respond to this message in this forum or directly to my e-mail address: majskyking@gmail.com

Other than that, y'all have a nice day.

Why doesnt someone put these people who post about making money by simply posting links on Google in jail. They are obviously scamming people. Funny thing is, you'll see an area of the site saying comments: and then you go to make one but there is no way to do so.. the site is set up to reload the first page and/or they'll have this bogus piece typed up saying 'removed due to spamming'

I would love to contact these scam artist and tell them that they are being reported to authorites for falisification of a business. I think Google should be after them, as well.

People like that need to be stopped. I wish I could find these people's email addresses and report them to fraud watch international.

how annoying!!!

I have a link that is for a $4 online web business and it really does work.. I know it's peanuts for most to even consider, but after joining it about a week ago, I have had 4 people sign up.. so I know it works. I know it's not thousands of dollars being earned but it is something…and in this economy, every little bit helps. At least I know it's not a scam.
