Google-Work-Home? No Thanks!

Hmm. Apparently the site Google-Work-Home didn’t get the memo about all the Google Money Tree complaints. Of course Google Money Tree was one of the companies that was targeted in a recent Federal Trade Commission Crackdown. And that’s the kind of site that Google-Work-Home seems to be promoting.

The Google-Work-Home site claims that “this job is perfect for Homemakers, actors, students, retired workers, or anyone else that wants to earn cash working from home.”

Did someone forget to tell you that making money by advertising on Google is NOT a job? It’s a business, silly Google-Work-Home.com!

Now, I have no problem with people learning how to make money using Google to make money. Obviously, that’s a smart thing to do and there ARE many LEGITIMATE products, including many on our Top 10 Recommended Home Businesses list that can teach you how to do that.

But you have to ask yourself how good some of those “trial offer” companies’ training can be if they have to resort to such desperate measures to sell you their products.

I also find it very strange that the Google-Work-Home site says “You will not need special training” but then you immediately offer me “step-by-step instructions”.

Ummm. If I don’t need special training then why do I need your “step-by-step instructions”? Shouldn’t I just be able to fall out of a tree and make money…say an “Internet Money Tree”? ;-)

In case you don’t know what the reference to “Internet Money Tree” is all about, it has to do with one of the names that the Google Money Tree site was going under – the one that the FTC recently filed an injunction against.

Unfortunately, there seems to be new Google Work from Home scams coming up daily even after the FTC crackdown on the “work from home with Google” scam sites.

If you fall for these scams, you are too stupid to have any sort of home business.

You get in life what you earn and work hard for. There is no such thing as free or easy money.

    Enough said?

  12. laquita young says:

I was reading your post and I know a legitimate way to make money from home. I don’t know if you have ever heard of a site called ChaCha.com but you pretty much just answer questions for their users from home. I have been doing it for about a year now. They may not be hiring now but if you are interested you should check their website occasionally. You WILL NOT get rich but you can make a good amount of money. It all depends on how much you work. It’s a really good way to earn extra income. I use it to pay a bill or for holiday money. If you are interested I only ask that you use my email as a reference. I can earn a little more if people use me as a reference (only about 1 cent more but it’s better than nothing). Anybody who wants to know more info just send me a note and I will respond as quickly as possible.

  13. laquita young says:

I forgot to mention that it is absolutely free. You don’t have to order any products. All you do is sign up, read their instruction manual on how it works (at home for free) and you then take a test to see if you qualify to work for them (very simple test). If you pass the test you will receive an email to start working. You don’t have any set hours and you can work as much or as little as you want. I promise this is not a scam and if you want to talk to me personally I will be happy to give my number and talk personally to anybody who requests it. I try to inform people of this site whenever possible because everybody’s trying to earn some extra money now-a-days.

  14. laquita young says:

I just did the live agent conversation as well and the girl Natalie would not tell me the monthly fee or anything. She just kept trying to sell me the product. Don’t do this.

  15. curtis says:

Hello my name is curtis i orderd the same thing for my wife so she would make some money, Im disabled and have had my
SSA income taken away in 2007 we to are out of money with
kids if you can get the names and home phone numbers of the people you see that told you about this i will look into it
deeper and see if it is a scam . my phone is 909 880-1931

  16. Sandie says:

I was stunk in ordering trial products after reading testimony from people who claim it works and the cost is only for S& H of usually below $2. My visa was later charged anywhere $50 to $76.00 from companies whom I did not make purchases. I called the phone numbers of these companies provided on my visa statement to find out what the charges were for and was told they are for the on-going monthly supply of the trial products. I’ve agreed to purchase on-going supply. My visa was also charged with $6.82, $7.14, $3.24 by companies which I’ve not made purchases from. More call were made to find out they are affiliated companies of the trial products and that are in the agreement of the trail products. The companies were reluctant to make refund, after much company they agreed to refund 50% of the charges.

Needless to say I did not read the whole agreement of the trial products when placing order. In my opinion, it is unethical and sneaky for companies to be include other products in the agreement when they know most people would not read the lengthy agreement.

My visa company was very helpful in having the full amount refunded to my account. Found out they’ve received many reverse charge requests due to the unethical business practice. Their resources is strained from processing reverse charges requests.

Lesson learned. Now I would research products on forum like this one before buying and only purchase online from reputable businesses. That is when I came across this forum.

I want to applaud consumers like the ones in this forum in posting which help others from being scammed of their hard earned money.

  17. d.a. says:

hey guys I too almost fell for this scam because it said google sneeky a–holes but what did catch my attencion and made me further look into this ( how i found this site) is that it said only pay $2.95 which i thought not much to lose but then i thought google has enough money to send these packets FREE which then made me think any thing thats reall won’t cost you money so MAJOR TIP GUYS YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO PAY MONEY TO GET SOMETHING LIKE THIS

  18. Alida says:

Thank you all so much!!! I actually fell for this scam when I ran across the Mary Steadman story and it said she was from Knoxville, TN. I was thinking of trying it but wanted to do a little homwework before I made up my mind. After finding this site, I obviously decided against it. Unfortunately, I DIDN’T find it until AFTER I filled in my phone number. They started calling me yesterday trying to sale me the kit. It’s been 2 days and now these morons are calling me every 20-30 min starting at 7am (In the state of TN it’s illegal to call before 8am) and not stopping until 9pm. I’ve told them to put me on their Do Not Call list, I’ve DEMANDED them to stop calling me, I’ve even threatened to report them to the FCC every time they call me so that they end up fined so many times they’ll have to file bankruptcy! Ofcourse, the person on the other end barely speaks English. She just keeps repeating that I asked for info and trying to sale me the kit. I understand that it’s their job and that they have a script that tells them what to say when someone says NO. They’re probably only being paid commission at that, but when you’re told to put someone on the DO NOT CALL list, you are supposed to say ok and hang up! I’m starting to wonder if it wouldn’t have been easier just to let them scam me rather than deal with the constant phone calls. LOL. For those of you that ended up giving their numbers, make sure you tell them to put you on their do not call list. Then turn them into the FCC at esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm Maybe if everyone keeps turning them in, they’ll end up out of business!

  19. clyde spillers says:

I fell for this scam a few months ago.I sent $1.86 for the cd.Two weeks later my Visa debit card from Wal Mart was hit for $72 plus change which I knew nothing about.I called a number in Utah and requested a refund. They told me when I got my cd to send it back. After 21 days i got the cd and sent it back.I called them again and they said they were changing their computers and it would be about two weeks and they would send a refund. After two weeks I called them again and they told me that it was past 30 days and I could not get a refund.I filed a dispute with Wal Mart and they told me that there was nothing they could do.So I got screwed for $73 and I’m madder than hell but what can you do?I’m on unemployment and have very limited funds.Somebody needs to get those damn people. It was Google Money Tree.It seems to me that Google would go after them unless of course they are in on it too which I would’nt doubt.Anyway thanks for listening to me.Peace Clyde.

    Here’s my experience with them…

First, I tried signing up and I was never really able to finalized the sale. So, feeling like I had been scammed, I researched (Yes, should have done that in the beginning). That’s when I found this website, and immediately tried to cancel the transaction that may or may not have gone through. I called, and no rep was available, so I decided to go back to the website, reapply with a false identity where I was automatically prompted and this is what I got…

The link “http://americanewsdaily.com/?t202id=42469&t202kw=barbhj” confused me.

Thank you to everyone who has posted comments on this scam. I’m glad I found this site before I fell into a really bad situation.

  25. Dan says:

Look like people all over the world are scammed by this scam. To avoid being charge further the first thing you need to do is call your credit card company and change your credit card number. If you use your bank account, call them to change the account number. Regarding refund your bank or credit companies are better to handle this for you. Most likely they will reimburse you.

OMG!!! I came upon this blog almost within minutes of taking Google up on the e-mail they sent me to work at home…I know most of them are scams, but who would have thought Google?? I been goin back and forth with this all week since my disability check is barely enough to live on. I’m so thankful to all of you for taking the time to post…and I’m so sorry for the ones who already signed up for it. That $73.00 charge they say nothing about…would have killed me financially. Thank you guys so much!!!!! Guess I’ll go and delete that e-mail!!

  27. Paul says:

Yea it’s a scam alright, the number is from India! The thing that toubles me the most is why is GOOGLE Inc. letting these scamming basterds use their company name to scam people?!?! I found this site from typing in work home scams in GOOGLE. So I’m pretty sure the folks at GOOGLE know that they are out there. If i was working for the real google inc’s I’d try to sue these basterds for every penny.

  28. GoldenBOMBsHell says:

I can’t believe this, I signed up for this system for approximately 4 hours. I called customer service twice, the first guy answered the phone asking me if i wanted to cancel. That wasn’t even my reason for calling. I wanted to know why I haven’t received any information on this product that I just gave money for. The second guy answered the phone asking me what payment on my card am I referring to. STILL NOT MY REASON FOR CALLING. Finally I asked what other charges will be made to my account, and he said for 2 days 1.00, every month 89.00. UNREAL. I am so glad I called back because I wasn’t going bother with the reading until Monday after class. It just goes to show if you want to make money get a job….. THAT’S IT.

  29. Weedsingh says:

I also just got into this crap 30 minutes ago, I should have known better seeing as I am an IT professional and always tell others to do research before buying into anything online. I got excited and thought its google should be fine, as soon as I got confirmation, I thought too myself man should have researched this and then bang saw this site. Called credit card company asked about the charge 1.95 had been placed so i told him what i did and asked to have the card canceled. Cant be smoking weed and then going online with my credit card anymore, I wonder if I should call them also to cancel? FUKIN SHIT!!!!!!!!

  30. Phillydude says:

Just got a pop up about this -
it seemed like a real Google ad so I went as far as giving
my name, phone number an E-Mail -
then when they asked for my credit card info I backed out -
I knew it was a scam when the ‘please don’t go’ box came up.
What a sick cruel hoax to pull on people,
especially with so many out of work -
I would hope that Google would prosecute -
and the credit card companies should refund anybody who is charged.

  31. numbskullyfemaleNOT says:

For anyone in the UK – the trick is also that they get your name and address postcode details and can then, take out credit cards, loan agreements uetc, in your name and the whole gammit ALL in your name. If though, you have PRIVACY GUARD, (Lloyds Bank do one) which for small fee monthly protects you, you will be ok. They ask for your address too. So.. Cancel your card IMMEDIATELY (as I just did) and if you haven’t already, get a Privacy Guard facility set up with your bank – the hassle of having someone use your personal details to get money is just too horrifying to contemplate.

  32. Rick says:

WOW! I look for the “work from home” jobs sometimes, but I always read the scam site first, seems this “google work at home” is a scam in all sense of the word, a whole year of scamming and it hasn’t been stopped yet? damn!

  34. Boogyshooz says:

Christ! I just filled in all my details on their application form and then thought, hang on I’d better just check that this isn’t a phishing job or some such. Thank god I did, and thank you guys for setting up this site. Yes, their cheesy, flashing graphics and ‘You have just won £50,000. Just call this number’ style don’t do a lot for their credibility. Why doesn’t Google block these the minute they appear. It’s making them look like a real bunch of arseholes.
