I think it is great someone who can help point out the bad places that dont work. I would love to find a job at home that was legitimate, that doesn't ask for money but takes your resume and goes through it like any othere application for a job in an office without this charge going on. If people are interested in really hiring you then there should be no charge to get involved with thier company.
thanks
I sell pet cremation urs from my website and I am looking to get involved with a company to work from home.

Norma,
I apologize. I missed your comment.
First of all, always be sure to follow the
Rules here.
The following pages on this site either has those types of places or will point you to OTHER sites that do:
Landing telecommuting work (home jobs) is tougher now just as landing regular jobs is, but we do have a page that includes
lists of OTHER sites that provide reliable job leads or lists of companies that hire on a regular basis here:
http://www.workathometruth.com/work-from-home-companies.php
& a list of companies that hire workers for home phone jobs
on a regular basis here:
http://www.workathometruth.com/work-at-home-phone-jobs.php
Unfortunately I know that several people who got jobs with some
of the companies from those lists were laid off recently. But they
are legitimate lists.
I'd also recommend you check http://www.ratracerebellion.com
and http://www.katieshugs.com
Also, if you're not a member of the http://www.wahm.com
forums, I'd highly recommend that as well. They have
a telecommuting section there where people are incredibly
supportive and share leads with each other and help
each other avoid scams.
Another great free forum is http://www.vanetworking.com
which is dedicated to helping people enter the
Virtual Assistant field and networking current
VAs.
You should be able to read the PDF with the
Adobe reader available for free here:

Look to the right for the button that says:

Thank you for the recognition, Paul!
I have been working from home for a decade now but I still remember how hard it was to make my way. There are no quick, easy answers; no one-size-fits-all; no magic beans to finding a legitimate telecommuting job. It's really as much of a personal journey as it is a job hunt.
You're right, it's even harder to find work in this economy when so many people are being laid off and losing their jobs. And, folks who never thought of working from home are now looking at it as a viable career option in a world where retiring with a gold watch is nearly unheard of anymore.
But perhaps this economy is also prompting more companies to look at instituting telecommuting programs as a way to reduce business expenses as well. So maybe there's a silver lining for telecommuters and wannabe's.

What a nice surprise to see you drop by, Lisa.
I think you're right. I've been helping many of my friends who were laid off work on starting their own business and I've been trying to work with an I.T. recruiter who got some good publicity for his I.T. HomeShoring initiative about 4 years ago, but then it died out.
I've put up a resume submission form for that here:
Information Technology HomeShoring.
