My-Internet-Payday discussion

This is a discussion of My-Internet-Payday which appears to be the same product as Joel Comm’s MyGooglePayday discussed here already.

Also, there is a new UNRELATED product called Internet Payday discussed here:

2/05/2010 update: I thought it would be important to point out how quickly InfoMedia fixed issues people complained about here. Also, it is important to realize that a totally DIFFERENT company – having nothing to do with Joel Comm’s company started a different offer they ALSO called “My Internet Payday”.

Also, InfoMedia quickly got their BBB rating back to an A+ rating after it had dropped down to a B- rating. You can see that here:

BBB report on InfoMedia.

6/1/2009 update: My-Internet-Payday has a message stating “My  Internet Payday is Not Accepting New Members at this Time. Please check back in the future for openings.”

I also noticed that a lot of the fake blog owners pulled My-Internet-Payday from their promotions well before My-Internet-Payday posted that message. That could be because they knew the offer was going to expire, it could be because InfoMedia specifically disallowed that form of promotion, or it could be for some totally different reason.

5/25/2009 update: This whole discussion of My-Internet-Payday seems to have turned into a discussion of how to cancel the course. If that’s what you’re looking for, there is plenty of information throughout the discussion on that and the direct link to their support desk that covers that is here:

http://support.infomediainc.com/index.php

Also note that when I say “improvements” it does NOT mean that’s how I would like to see the order process in an ideal situation and it’s my opinion based on past versions of the order process I’ve seen. But what you and I think individually doesn’t mean anything as I try to explain in my 5/19/2009 post which I got a lot of flack for. Along with my 5/24/2009 reply to Annelie. Keep in mind that is a layperson’s interpretation of only a partial piece of the FTCs material on clear and conspicuous disclosure – the experts in those matters are the Attorneys for the company’s in question and the FTC attorneys.

The difficult part of that as Not Kevin (in my opinion one of the more substantive contributors to this aspect of the discussion) has pointed out is that there seem to sometimes be multiple forms of the order process going on simultaneously – I don’t know if that’s a temporary situation or not.

Hopefully eventually this discussion will get back on track at some point and allow people to give their feedback about the actual product, although I certainly do understand that what’s been going on has value as well.

5/14/2009 update: Hackersafe logo issue has been fixed.

5/12/2009 important update: Enough has gone on here that I feel it’s important to point out that My-Internet-Payday never made it into the recommended products list at WorkAtHomeTruth or the top 10 recommended home businesses list.  I had planned to move into a full review of the product, but because of the feedback I’ve received about customer service for the product here I’ve decided to put that on hold.

4/27/2009 update: Even MORE improvements to the order process! The current disclosure on My-Internet-Payday site is now placed directly at the point of the order form which is good news. For some reason the HackerSafe logo snuck back on the page, but that was just probably an oversight that will be fixed soon.

4/17/2009 update: The My-Internet-Payday sales process has gone through a major overhaul and has implemented the following changes:

  • The Hackersafe logo issues has been fixed.
  • The text next to the asterisk now states: “This is a $1 Trial. After trial expires additional monthly fees apply see terms and conditions.” (Note, you can find the terms and conditions at the bottom of the second page – the page on which you enter your payment details).

3/24/2009 update: BBB logo issue has been fixed

Again, it’s a $1.00 trial offer which automatically converts into a $78.64/monthly fee at the end of the trial period in order to retain access to the membership. The cancelation procedures are spelled out in the Terms and Conditions found by clicking the Terms and Conditions link which tells you to:

CAREFULLY READ AND AGREE TO THE TERMS BELOW BEFORE ORDERING:”

And then goes into the details on how the trial offer works.

Joel Comm has made significant contributions to the field of Adsense Education which is easy to see from the vast number of legitimate testimonials he has for his product The Adsense Code here. Those are REAL people giving REAL testimonials. And people like Alice Seba who is giving her testimonial there don’t just hand out testimonials willy-nilly.

I still have some qualms which I feel obligated to point out since I am constantly telling the visitors to WorkAtHomeTruth to look for these kind of issues on sites, so I’d be remiss not to mention them.

I still am wondering why the HackerSafe logo is being used as I discussed in the write-up of the sales page for MyGooglePayday here.

3/24/2009 UPDATE: The issue with the BBB logo discussed in the following paragraphs been fixed and has been made clickable now.

3/24/2009 Start of original BBB information follows…(The following discussion of the BBB logo is no longer relevant but left in place for historical purposes).

I also don’t understand why  My-Internet-Payday.com doesn’t have a live link from their BBB logo to their BBB confirmation page since the BBB Seal Program’s outline in Wyoming and Northern Colorado tells consumers:

“You know a company is authorized to display either seal if it links to a BBB confirmation page. Always click on a BBB seal to confirm the company’s good standing with BBB.”

Click here to read the full terms of the Wyoming and Northern Colorado seal program.

That being said, Joel’s company InfoMedia center which he was kind enough to provide a link to in the previous discussion does currently have an A+ rating which you can verify by clicking here.

Certainly from a sales copy flow having a clickable logo would give up the control. On the other hand, if a site isn’t using the logo as it’s designed to be used I would think it could possibly have a NEGATIVE effect on credibility…although ironically the BBB themselves has NO Terms of use on their site as I’m writing this…click here for the Wyoming and Northing Colorado “Terms of Use”…NOT! (Note, they may have them up by the time you read this).

3/24/2009 End of the original BBB discussion (no longer relevant but left in place for historical purposes).

The bottom line is that based on my experience with some of Joel Comm’s previous information, it’s probably very good educational material, but I have NOT specifically reviewed the My-Internet-Payday course – which apparently is also known as MyGooglePayday.

As mentioned in the discussion of MyGooglePayday, you may want to pick up a copy of The Adsense Code BOOK first – although certain a 7-day trial should be sufficient time for you to decide if the My-Internet-Payday product is right for you.

You can grab a copy of the Adsense Code from Amazon on-the-cheap here.

Note: I should point out that Joel Comm has stated back on 2/27/2009 in the MyGooglePayday comments section here in that “We recently learned that Hackersafe is no longer active and are switching to McAfee as soon as we can get it running.” So I would assume we’ll see that switchover pretty soon, although I still don’t 100% understand that statement, because I thought that the “switchover” was done automatically for Hackersafe users, but it’s possible I’m wrong about that.

Click here to read about the change from Hackersafe to McAfee secure.

Related information:

Here are some the sites (NOTE: These people’s Adsense Revenue sites may be DIFFERENT) of the people giving the testimonials so you can confirm these are REAL people with established, professional sites:

Of course there are many more testimonials, but those are some of the better known authors and sites.

As always, any and all feedback is welcome.

    hi folks,
I too got some problem with them. This program sounds like an additional burden with my existing credit crisis. I saw that mary’s money making ad and even i thought of making money online and I used that links to follow and they showed that there is an offer for you specially in next 10 minutes and when i used the credit card, they took only only 1 or 2 dollars and they started sending me a lot of mails , but after 4 days i received some mails from some other companies that you are registered for this program that program and you will be charged some 1)78 dollars – company 1
    2)34 dollars- company 2
    3)78 dollars- comapny 3
but at time my bank got only 6 dollars and i cancelled my account from them and only one compant chareged my bank account and they paid me back after a complaint to them.
    Until there everything is good
BUT MY PROBLEM IS WITH MY-INTERNET-PAY-DAY.COM
THESE GUYS SEND ME A LOT OF MAILS DAILY ABOUT MAKING MONEY, BUT THEY NEVER INFORMED ME ABOUT THE CHARGES THEY WERE KEEPING ON MY BANK ACCOUNT AND WHEN I SAW MY ACCOUNT THEY CHARGED ME 78 DOLLARS ON MY BANK ACCOUNT AND WHEN I ASKED MY BANK , THEY TOLD ME YOUR ACCOUNT IS IN NEGATIVE BALANCE AND THEY CAN’T KEEP A HOLD ON MY TRANSACTION.
SO I MAILED THE COMAPNY ABOUT THE PROBLEM I GOT AND ALSO THE CANCELLATION NUMBER, I GOT AFTER CANCELLING THE ACCOUNT ONLINE.
BUT THEY NEVER REPLIED ME REGARDING THE ACTUAL ISSUE ,
THEY JUST SEND ME SOME reply to my MAIL :

  2. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO GET BACK THE $78.64 GOOGLE CHARGED TO MY CREDIT CARD?
    IF SO, HOW?
SHOULD I WAIT TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT WITH THEM UNTIL THIS MATTER IS SETTLED?
OR CAN I CANCEL IT NOW TO PREVENT ADDITIONAL CHARGES?

  3. @Paul,
“The current link for canceling directly with the company is:
    http://www.my-internet-payday.com/index.php?module=cancel

That is not the direct link to cancel, that only takes you to part 1 of the cancellation. Part 1 is some crap that tries to justify that they have done no wrong,
stall tactic to try and stop people from canceling.
Part 2 is an unnecessary form that is not even part of the cancellation process, It even states (Patronizingly)

“If you do not want to succeed online and truly feel that you are not ready to make the committment to success… then click here”

lol What a load of patronizing crap.

For those that want the direct link to cancel, then go here http://www.my-internet-payday.com/index.php?module=cancel&s=3

But as many have stated, it’s probably easier to go directly to your bank to cancel.

    Cheers
    James

  4. @CGS

It was not Google who charged your credit card. Google have nothing to do with this.

    Google says: http://www.google.com/support/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=9110

“We’re always sorry to hear when a site misrepresents its products or treats individuals unethically. As you may know, Google is a reflection of the web. Although we aggregate and organize content published on the web, we don’t control the content itself, and it’s our policy not to police content. Rather, by including as much information as possible in our results, we hope that you’ll be able to easily find warnings about rogue sites.

However, we’ve heard from our users about a few specific schemes that you should watch out for. Here are some scams we know about as well as some tips to avoid getting ripped off:

    * Make-money-fast sites: Sites offering ‘fast cash with Google’ or a ‘Google success kit’ that promise a quick buck if you join their schemes or pay for their ‘online kits’ have nothing to do with Google. Users tell us that their services involve a lot of hidden charges. Remember that, in general, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
    * Google lottery: Users have told us about a common email scam in which they’re told they’ve won a ‘Google lottery’ or other award. Sorry — there’s no Google lottery.
    * Look out for disclaimers on sites that appear to be, but aren’t, affiliated with Google or other recognizable brands: These disclaimers usually appear at the bottom of the page using variations of the language ‘GOOGLE is a registered trademark of Google, Inc. We are not a partner, affiliate, or licensee of Google Inc., nor is our company in any other way formally associated with Google Inc.’

Report sites that use the Google trademark inappropriately.”

    They go on to say:

    “Additional steps you can take

Regardless of where this site appeared, you can take action by alerting the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which handles complaints about deceptive or unfair business practices. To file a complaint, visit https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

    call 1-877-FTC-HELP, or write to:

    Federal Trade Commission
    CRC-240
    Washington, D.C. 20580

You may also consider filing a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). http://www.ic3.gov/

I am sure all this has already been stated in this thread already somewhere.
    Anyhow.
If you tell your bank that the charges are unauthorized, then they should refund your money.

    Cheers
    James

  5. James,

It’s all been posted before except that answer directly from Google which I hadn’t seen before.

  7. Hi,

I recently subscribe from my internet payday and successfully cancel it by calling the company and i’ve called them before my 7 day trial expire. I’ve enter my name, lastname, etc but the cc no is not mine but it is my brother’s credit card.

Will they be able to withdraw money from my brother’s account?

    Thanks..

    Angelo

P.S: Please someone who knows, reply immediately..

  9. @Angelo Will they be able to withdraw money from my brother’s account?

If they have the credit card details, then yes the will be able to.

An honest company would not charge anyone after they had canceled. By some of the replies I have seen in this thread, they may still charge the CC after you have canceled.
You might be one of the lucky ones… or maybe not.

    Cheers
    James

  10. James,

Can they do that? I’ve enter my name, lastname, address, etc, but the credit card is in my brothers ownership. When they are withdrawing, does the bank ask what name, lastname, etc is the cc owner.

  11. Unfortunately, I cannot answer that for you as I am not a bank (Wish I was ;))

If they were able to take the initial signup fee from the CC then I would expect that they are able to take more.
If you got any sort of confirmation from the site that your account was canceled and they still do charge the CC, then simply issue a charge back.
A helpful link was posted in this thread http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdSense/thread?tid=4fd740985a63f510&hl=en to a video about this http://www.chrismalta.com/scamtip1.asp

    Hope that helps.

I did not hear anything about a monthly charge in any of the comments that talk about trying this for $1. Now I see that I am having a monthly charge and I am not able to cancel. I do not know where I am receiving information that I am paying for. I get a lot of e-mails on the internet and do not know where I am receiving anything from you. I am contacting my credit card company to report this and refuse to pay.

  17. Hi,
Thought I may just share this.

I too could not reach the phone number, ticket request went unanswered. I could not access the unsubscribe page.

I discovered they were listed members of the BBB, so on the BBB site I filed a complaint. Within a day I got a response from them, saying that they would cancel my membership and refund me the 2 payments of $78 they had taken from me so far.

Checked my statement and the refund is there.

  18. Thanks, Paulh

Joel Comm had posted that link on the other discussion when the product used to be called MyGooglePayday. Here’s what he said:

“I’m not sure why my team didn’t link to the BBB site, but we are BBB accredited with an A+ rating!

    http://www.bbb.org/wyoming-and-northern-colorado/business-reviews/internet-selling-services/info-media-inc-in-loveland-co-46013275

Some time has passed since then and I now see that they have B- rating with the BBB.

  19. Jayne Baer says:

I signed up for Joel’s “My-Internet-Payday” and was quite happy with it. I did come across a couple of links that didn’t work, but I had a hard time keeping up with all the other information anyway, so it wasn’t that big of a deal to me. Bad links can happen to anyone, or it could have been just a problem I was having with my computer that day, who knows?

I do not like to see people bad-mouthing other people and destroying their reputation, so I’m putting in my 2 cents worth in SUPPORT of Joel. He certainly gave me my money’s worth, and yes, I paid the $78 or whatever it was until I got to the end of the course. He did not cheat me or misrepresent anything at all. I thought it was good value for my money.

  20. Jayne,

I think one thing to keep in mind when you’re reading these comments is that in my opinion and likely some others Joel and his company improved the sales letter over time making the monthly charges more obvious.

So most of the complaints you’re seeing are based on an early version of the sales letter.

Also keep in mind that there were rarely complaints about the materials themselves.

I did not order this product. I filled out the form but when I read the terms, I did not hit submit! I have been billed several times already and do not appreciate it. I didnt think it was a scam but obviously it is! Feel free to contact me or my lawyer. 706/577-7274

  23. Beverly Teel says:

    You have been reported!!!!!

  24. THIS IS A SCAM!! The $1 free trail is not true. What happened to me was I log into the web link I received and it requested of my credit card number to start the process. Then I had to enter an user ID and pin # to login the website. After all that and looked into this program, I’ve decided not to proceed and program. Then I received a phone call from them which they later denied that they had call me. The lady identified herself from Internet Payday and asked me why I did not continue providing the information on the website so that they can mail me the kit on how to start my internet payday. I told them I am not interested and decided not to proceed. A month later, I saw 2 transaction in 1 week period debiting my account for total of $157.28. Then when I call them, the lady on the phone was mean and had a bad attitude and insisted that I had enrolled and they do not call customers. Why will I pay for a service that I have not even use?

  25. Jimmy,
you seem like you know a lot, can you please send me an email where i can cancel this bloody scam. i have also reported this website to Interpol as i do not reside in US.

    please assist me here………

It will open a new screen then you have to click for next page then read down just before questionaire and click the words in orange “click here” hope this helps someone else. This worked for me and I got a confirmation from them saying I was unsubscribed from them.

  27. Pam,

My Internet Payday doesn’t use a PIN# System and they don’t physically mail customers anything. If someone said they would mail you a “Kit” then you are confusing them with another offer. It seems like you were charged the $78.64 twice, which is their price, but the other info doesn’t make sense.

  28. Dan,

There is a different site with the domain
MyInternetPayday.net which is sending people onto a domain called GoogleProfitHouse.com – although that monthly charge is different than the one mentioned above.

  29. Hello:
MY-Internet-payday.com is a scam. They charged close to $200.00 or 4 months on my card plus 1.00.
Here is what happened. Once you fill out the form and get to the area where you can read the terms and conditions,
surprize! They want another monthly fee of plus they don’t disclose this in the beginning. Here is the clincher.
You don’t have to push “SUBMIT” it takes your information
and you did not push submit and did not order the product.
I called the next day when this happened ot me and I was told the order did not go through. When I got my credit card it was charged for three months May, June,July and 1.00 for a trila of 7 days and I called to make sure the order did not go through. This is a scam and please help to expose thewse bastards to the public. Let’s put them out of business.
    Thanks

Also where is the edit button for this post?

  31. I agree. I have tried several times and waited 1.5 hours on hold. They NEVER COME TO THE PHONE.
Folks, as an attorney I speak from experience.
Go to the policies and procedures or legal on the web site.
Get the address and call the attorney general of that state. They will take a compliant and they WILL check it out. You may be referred to a department in that state that is different but you will get action. They need to CLOSE these people down for good. They can fine them
and if caught the second time they will get bigger fines.
    Try it! It works!

  32. Hello:
They sent me a Google Profits CD. I did not order it. On the front is has “Google Profits” and this number which does not work
    866-995-9812
This was sent fron Riverton UT.
I tried to return it. Post offices won’t return it.
They did a number on me and charged my card for several hundred dollars.
WE NEED TO REPORT THESE PERSONS TO RIPOFFREPORT.COM
MAY HAVE A “S” ON REPORTS.
THE MORE REPORTS THE BETTER AND THIS W2ILL HELP OTHERS TO
BE ON THE ALERT FOR SCAMS BEFORE GETTING SCAMMED.

  33. Roz,

    I think that’s from a defunct site called My-Internet-Payday.net instead of My-Internet-Payday.com.

I believe it’s connected to or IS GoogleProfitsInsider.com which is discussed at RipoffReport here:

    http://www.ripoffreport.com/Google-Profits-Google-Profits-Insider/On-Line-Business/Google-Proftis-Google-Profits-9DBE4.htm

It’s not the company listed on this page.

  34. You are giving them a seal of approval…for what?
They have reipped off people and they will continue to do so.
If you have a business and place a phone number on your site, it should:
    1.) work
2.) someone should answer and be polite adn business
3.) It is obvious these numbers being tauted do not work.
    Get a grip…this is a scam.

  35. Roz, I’m not giving anyone a seal of approval.

I was trying to help you by giving you the correct information as you are on a page about a totally different company.

I’m not saying that I approve of either one.

You might want to take a look at this HUGE list of similar scams I’ve warned people about:

    /blog/2009/09/03/white-knight-seo-rides-in-on-a-broken-horses/

There are MANY of them that SOUND the same.

I am trying to HELP you by making sure you are contacting the right company.

However, apparently you don’t want help.

    Good luck.

  36. When I looked into this, it took all of 15 minutes to know that it wasn’t for me.

I then clicked on the appropriate links on their site to unsubscribe, answered all of the questions and thought I was done with it. I even got the email confirming that my account was cancelled (which I unfortunately deleted).

The following weekend, I got a reminder from them that the next “lesson” was ready for me. I went through the unsubscribe from that email and tried to log back into their website, only to be told that I don’t have an account.

That was 4 months ago and I’ve been charged $78 every month since, for an account that I cancelled, and unsubscribed to.

I found another link for their cancellation page through google search and got a new cancellation confirmation number. The next payment is due in 5 days so we’ll see if they cancelled my subscription this time or not. If not, I’m going to cancel my credit card so they can’t charge me anymore.

Just for the record, you can sign up for Googles’ adsense for free through google. You do NOT need to pay anyone $78 per month for this priviledge. Yahoo has a similar option, also free.

  37. Intrernet payday is a scam. Regardless of the pay $1.00 for the “disk” you can NEVER get through to them on the phone. That is not a business that is however a scam.

  39. Hey tek

You haven’t lied at all. And i would also like to say that with so many people posting ads to make money at home. Even if google payday was legit there still would be no guarantees. The problem people would run into is supply or web advertisers (us online workers) would outpace demand (clickers as). I’m sure the online public would eventually get advertisement fatigue, just as television viewers sometimes get commercial fatigue. What brought me to this discussion sight is the fact that a supposed $2.59 home work kit fee turned into a .99 cent fee which would balloon to a $59 dollar fee if you don’t cancel after a 7 day trial period. Also you are automatically signed up to a fast grant program after 14 days. I did not apply for at home work to be offered a grant. What all of these gimmicks/scams have in common is that you pay money to see if you can make money. Like the saying goes if it sounds to good to be true then it is to good to be true. What’s truly maddening is when nationally recognized companies like Google get in on the Money Seduction business.

  41. a couple of my buddies bought into this and said it was stupid, and no one made any cash…theres no short cut to success…you gotta work smart and leverage as much as possible

    @Paul…
it seems so many here don’t “READ” enuff before commenting … or it would be obvious just about every method of cancelling has been given over n over. Also.. they would recognize.. u have BEEN impartial n objective in yer “aid” to resolve..or help all in any issue they had.. while keeping an open mind till facts come to a head.. to determine yer personal opinions. i PERSONALLY feel u have been of great help..and yer site is informative. Thanks Paul

P.S. My personal opinion is…. Joel is a slick marketer, and smart guy.. who crossed the line of scruples for the almighty buck.. his integrity is more than tarnished.. what a shame such a brilliant mind can stoop to such low levels to make even MORE than he has with so many other REAL honest ventures he is capable of.. and has done.
