There are only two kinds of people in the world, the ignorant and the bad brains!
Bob's Corner…The Bottom Line:
Bottom Line:
There are only two kinds of people in the world, the ignorant and the bad brains!
No matter what the Anthropologists tell us, there are only 2 kinds of people in the world: the ignorant and the bad brains. Discovering this knowledge has saved me countless hours of time, frustration and worry. It has proved to be my mental salvation when I learned to recognize the difference between the ignorant and the bad brains.
We are all born into this world ignorant. Gradually, with the help of parents, family, teachers and friends, we learn how to walk, talk, share, learn, grow and love. After 25 or so, we arrive at the stage where we can call ourselves mature, learned, educated, responsible, loving and caring human beings. Some of us anyway!
The bad brains, on the other hand learn exactly the same things. But, somehow, something just doesn’t seem to come out right. Something in the milk ain’t white as my friend used to say. Both types start out on a level playing field but each one turns out dramatically different.
I had a lot of trouble with this one. In my career, I used to help everyone. Because I thought that was the right thing to do. That was conditioned in me as a small child. So, it was only natural that this attitude would carry over into my adult life.
But, helping everyone often led to frustration, worry, sleep deprivation and anger. So, in the interest of self preservation and sanity, I began to wonder what was causing these problems. One night, after many hours of analyzing this challenge, I had an “aha” experience. I suddenly realized that it was my attitude that was the culprit here. That’s right. I couldn’t blame anyone for this one. I took full responsibility.
As is my custom, I tried to think of the lowest common denominator of human nature I could think of to explain my way out of this enigma. I thought about genes, hereditary, grampa and grandma and even Atilla the Hun’s hordes raping and pillaging across most of Euope and Asia as an explanation of why some people were fundamentally and genetically different. But, with all due respect to Atilla and his method of genetic pollination, this resulted in dead end thinking. I realized I was trying to complicate a relatively simple concept
So, I looked at babies which is about as fundamental as you can get, and that’s when it hit me! The world was made up of only two kinds of people, the ignorant and the bad brains. How I missed this one I don’t know. Maybe I had a temporary relapse of bad brainism. Not sure. However, I recovered quickly with this new insight.
Armed with my new knowledge, I changed my entire philosophy of life. I learned to quickly distinguish between the ignorant and the bad brains and that saved my sanity.
Let me explain. In my career, I used to teach sales training. I wrote an elaborate, easy to read and understand sales training manual loaded with strategies, tips, insights and tactics for how to sell effectively and efficiently, ethically and with integrity.
However, in the course of my sales classes, some got it and some didn’t. Some were able to apply it in their sales career and others simply couldn’t seem to get it. At first, I thought it must be me. I wasn’t teaching it right. I was using the wrong vocabulary. Not enough role playing. Not enough real world examples and applications. But, I quickly discovered by asking my salespeople for feedback that none of this was the case.
That’s when I discovered that somehow some bad brains had secretly infiltrated my class. Wow, wasn’t me at all. But, what to do? I began to see a pattern among this group that helped me to cope. I was soon able to identify some common characteristics of the bad brains. Mostly, they didn’t listen well, didn’t do the assignments, didn’t study much, had the attitude they knew all this “stuff,” were often arrogant, generally suspicious of new ideas and didn’t trust the authority, experience or knowledge someone was trying to impart to them. They didn’t need any help. They were determined to “wing it” through life with the least responsibility they needed to exert. And, here’s the irony. They said they wanted to be successful. But, with ruthless logic, I was instantly able to see that their words and actions didn’t coincide. Tragic, yes. So, is there a moral here? Yes, if you want to get some well deserved sleep, don’t waste your precious time trying to help the unteachable, uncoachable and unchangeable!
And the other moral here is Beware and Be wary. The “bad brains” have infiltrated the internet and if you’re not very careful, you may end up buying something they offer or recommend. Remember this, they don’t know what they don’t know! But, now you DO.
Better to work with the living than try to resurrect the dead! Better to buy from a trusted source than try to get a refund from a corpse!
Peace,
Robert
Ps Everyone reading this article knows at least one “bad brain.” Whatever you do, please don’t give them this article. They’ll think you’re one of them!
Always be patient, compassionate and understanding…but imagine they have the plague, avoid them at all costs and get some sleep.

THIS….IS…. BRILLIANT. I can't tell you how many times I've had the same experience. They fail, won't listen, already believe they are experts, and yet want training.
In my line of work I've actually found there are certain people who will say this exact sentence: "I really should be up there, teaching this with you." NEVER let someone who says that come to one of your courses! Bad brains!
