@Gary Welch:
I signed up in July 09. They put up an ugly/worthless website. They have no idea how to use Trellix. Due to all the negatives (must be when I called them flakes) they took the site down.
I still have not revieved anything. They no longer answer email or the phone.
Scam - yes it is.
All I want is to sell netbooks.
McCaulfield is to chickens**t to answer! If he even exists.

@TJ

I am not sure what you are specifically referring to on Paul's website.

Perhaps you could be more specific.

Paul's recommendations tend to be more of the, try this, work hard and you might make some money type. They aren't the quick riches pitches.

You should probably take a closer look.

Thanks for your feedback.

Are you referring to CertifiedCashClub? I think maybe the Cathy woman you are thinking of is "Cathy Banks".

Mandy,

You may want to read the following two FTC pages:
http://www.ftc.gov/os/caselist/0723138/index.shtm

http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/07/shortchange.shtm

On that second link you'll find this information:
"In the law enforcement actions announced today, the Commission charged:

John Beck/Mentoring of America, two principals, and three purported “inventors” marketed three get-rich-quick schemes, duping hundreds of thousands of consumers into paying approximately $300 million. The defendants marketed “John Beck’s Free & Clear Real Estate System,” “John Alexander’s Real Estate Riches in 14 Days,” and “Jeff Paul’s Shortcuts to Internet Millions.” The defendants allegedly made false and unsubstantiated claims about potential earnings for users of these systems. They used frequently aired infomercials to sell the systems for $39.95 and then contacted the purchasers via telemarketing to offer “personal coaching services,” which cost several thousand dollars and purportedly would enhance their ability to earn money quickly and easily using the systems. In addition, all purchasers were signed up for continuity programs that cost an additional $39.95 per month, but which were not adequately disclosed to consumers. Some consumers also continued receiving unwanted sales calls after they told the defendants’ telemarketers to stop calling. This case was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California."

I'm not sure what botnets you're talking about. All sites run are optimized for organic search.

If I really wanted to "profiteer" as you call it I wouldn't be running a site like this as it's a huge waste of time compared to other ways to generate income. As you learn more about online marketing I think that will become more clear to you.

I don't understand why you think setting up niche sites is what I'm complaining about on the site. It's not at all. I'm complaining mostly about hidden negative option plans, deceptive billing practices or the use of fake testimonials such as I covered in these write-ups:

DataMoneyOnline

Internet Scam Review

I think some people lump this site into other fake scam-exposing sites without realizing how much technical analysis goes into the research here. You can see just one of hundreds of exposes done here:

SelfProfitsMadeEasy.com which is fascinating given the history of the companies involved.

There's interesting commentary from Michael Webster, an attorney who specializes in Business Opportunity and Franchise Law and is a regular reader of the blog and has made a lot of great comments that have been helpful for people who want to understand the business opportunity marketplace.

If I really wanted to "profiteer" as you call it I wouldn't be running a site like this as it's a huge waste of time compared to other ways to generate income. As you learn more about online marketing I think that will become more clear to you.

For example, there's a discussion here:
http://www.workathometruth.com/blog/2008/11/19/google-money-tree-complaints/

In which I spent ridiculous amount of time online and ON THE PHONE with people helping them get refunds WITHOUT charging them at all.

That discussion was usined by the National Consumers League here:
http://savvyconsumer.wordpress.com/2009/01/13/bitter-fruit-for-consumers-from-the-google-money-tree/

I also helped the FTC DIRECTLY with this case:
http://www.ftc.gov/os/caselist/0923103/index.shtm By agreeing to testify in it. They prepared an affidavit of my statement that was used as part of them filing the injunction.

I also get a lot of help with this site from Lynndel Edgington who runs http://www.eagleresearchassociates.org and has an assigned federal agent for his organization. He's been instrumental in helping me help people avoid people commit criminal acts by unwittingly participating in fraudulent schemes. Also, he's helped me to understand the proper authorities to report various types of scams to as that can differ by the type of scam being perpetrated.

Good luck finding a site you consider legitimate. I'm gonna keep doing what I do.

You could always set up your own site attacking sites like mine if you don't like it. I wouldn't have a problem with that. I believe the truth tends to come out and actually that kind of site can be helpful. Or just keep posting your comments on this site. I almost never censor unless you post something completely illegal or obcene. There are hundreds of discussions you could post to on the site.

Thanks for the feedback.

Do you report users of your "recommended" plans too? I analyzed your top recommended plan and it literally instructs users to do what your site is supposedly protesting by soliciting niche content to boost Adsense revenue; much like you yourself are doing on this very domain.

Also the Adsense values in most of the supposed case studies are most likely from botnets, or your niche domains, as I have insight into Adsense revenue from major software publishers who use notable SEO optimization firms, and from what I've seen, your, and your supposed BBB hit list domains all have punch lines and content that are fraudulent by a significant margin.

You're profiteering just as they are, and I'd imagine in court your lawyers would be eager to keep any actual data putting your activities into context for the people to see out of the hands of prosecutors and investigating attorneys by dodging subpoena after subpoena as your competitors would.
