News Daily 7 Scam Analysis
NewsDaily7.com has been up to a lot of mischief lately. I’ve previously posted videos showing that they’ve:
- Hijacked the BizyMoms.com domain to use in an Adwords Ad for News Daily 7
- Hijacked the MothersWorkAtHome.com domain to use in an Adwords Ad for News Daily 7
- Run ads for NewsDaily7.com through multiple adwords accounts
- NewsDaily7 sometimes puts their Advertorial disclaimer at the very bottom of the page AFTER the reader has scrolled past EIGHT (8) order links (2 of them are on the images).
12/19/2011: News Daily 7 is currently promoting Home Income Cash Machine.
Note: Unless you’re a geek, you can skip the following and Click here to jump down to the LONG list of sites associated with News Daily 7 you should probably avoid (Unless you’re a real geek…then you might want to read the next section)
I’ve been shocked to see the HUGE NUMBER of other sites to which News Daily 7 com may be connected and some of the strange things going on with many of those sites.
Detailed Analysis Of News Daily 7
Here’s the strangest – and maybe scariest thing – I’ve seen a site associated with News Daily 7 doing:
It appears that either the company behind News Daily 7 or a company closely associated with News Daily 7 now controls the following 2 sites:
- MicroSoftCustomerCare.com
- MicroSoftcustomerCare.net
The following video shows why I believe that to be so:
Although the above video shows what appears to be the domain MicroSoftCustomerCare.com owned and hosted by Microsoft – when I used a different tool to check the ISPs of the nameservers shown in the Whois listing for MicroSoftCustomer.com…
…they didn’t match the actually ISP and location listed for MicroSoftCustomerCare.com which at the time of this post is:
The video below also shows that the company behind the MicrosoftCustomerCare.com & MicrosoftCustomerCare.net domains is using them as tracking domains through Prosper202:
Both Whois history and Archive.org records have been blocked for MicrosoftCustomerCare.com I was able to find an old PowerPoint presentation that references the MicrosoftCustomerCare.com domain (see the video below):
After doing a bit of research for this News Daily 7 post I learned that it is in fact possible to inject false IP information into DNS records through something known as “DNS Cache Poisoning” and that one of the steps to prevent DNS Cache Poisoning is to make sure that DNS servers are not fully open to recursive queries.
I ran microsoftcustomercare.com through a name server report and received the following information which shows warnings about recursive queries being allowed for ns1.msft.net, ns2.msft.net, ns3.msft.net, ns4.msft.net, and ns5.msft.net
The image below shows that the company behind News Daily 7 com appears to be operation out of the same area of the world.
Several sites show that they are registered to a company called “Relevant Global Marketing” (more on this when I update the post)

Great job. That is some list too. I recognise some of the sites like LA Sentinel which was used last year for the “Google Kit” scams.
I also found this in the source code of LA Sentinel:
affiliate.c2mclicks.com/rd/r.php?sid=1274&pub=514462&c1=lad7pop
So we know the person behind all these sites is an affiliate of Convert2media and their affiliate id.
Relevant Global Marketing Ltd comes up a bit too – it is mentioned here: http://stopmalvertising.com/malvertisements/another-work-from-home-scam-advertised-by-yahoo/all-pages The London address in the whoisinfo is a house according to Google Maps and an accountancy practice according to Google search. There is also a linkedin page for Relevant Global Marketing Ltd Israel which says the owner is a Daniel Treisman.
Thanks John,
I have a diagram I did in MindMeister that does a better job at showing how everything is connected – I’m trying to think of the best way to display it – I may just have to put it up for download.
Also, there are two names I came across during the research that I can’t find in my notes.
One was a company called Keyword Marketing, Inc. which seems to be somewhat nefarious but I can’t remember how or if it is actually connected to the sites above.
Then there was a name of another individual in the Whois history records.
I’m a teen and i found out an easy way to know its a scam,u can’t sign up or write your own comments on newsdaily7.com
Great tip for people.
Thanks.
I downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials and my Spyware StopZilla and Norton have me a message that it was a threat to my computer. I ignored it as the message said it was “rogue”. My computer continued to have many problems and then I had a trojan horse attached to my computer. Once I removed the Microsoft Security Essentials the problem ceased.
When I tried to download the pdf, I get to a page that says either it has been removed or was never there.
Thanks for pointing that out, Bea.
I fixed the link in the original post. Here it is again:
http://www.workathometruth.com/research/00001NewsDaily7Connections20100722.pdf
Thanks for this information Paul. I actually discovered this scam by clicking through an ad in the SERPS after recognizing the ad as one being displayed on our website through Adsense (just before reading your message). As always, you’ve done your homework. I blocked the bizymoms.com and mothersworkathome.com domains from displaying ads on our site for now. Damn shame because we both know bizymoms is a legit site, and mothersworkathome appears to be as well. Hope they get these scammers shut down sooner rather than later. Please keep us updated.
Hi Tony,
Nice to see you posting here again.
I had to block them as well and agree that it’s as I would actually WANT people to go to BizyMoms.
Thank you Paul.
I started on the internet Feb 2010 and have been inundated with scam this and scam that.
I’ve had a gut full of this.
I’m glad I get your emails as you are helping me avoid even more scams.I wonder if they prey on new email addresses. Since all these scammers have come through yahoo, I was wondering if yahoo gives out all your details?
Is there a way to police the internet?
On my yahoo email there is a part which asks if there is anything that we want to share. Well I did. And since then the scam crap has stopped. This I wrote for all to see, maybe others can use this also. I wrote to inform all that send the scam emails that I send them all to the cops. I stated that my email address loves cops. Since I have done this the mongrel scammers have stopped, and yes the police do get all my emails.
I even linked facebook so it hopefully will get around that my email address is honest and that includes my web site and I have no problem sending their crap to the police. Thanks for the warning lists of dodgey web sites
Maryann,
There’s no practical way to police the internet fully – or even close to fully. There just aren’t enough resources.
If you’re saying that the scam emails came through the Yahoo email system – no Yahoo doesn’t share your email address with third parties.
Paul I think she is fake.
My computer was recently attacked by a virus that completely took control of my computer. I called a phone number for Microsoft PC Security which connected me to techs in India. They remotely took control of my computer & removed suspicious programs. After four roughly 90-minute sessions, they finally seem to have removed the virus. But after reading some bad things about Microsoft Security Essentials, I’m still worried as this is the program they installed on my computer. Does anybody know whether this virus protection is legit? With so many scams going on in the virus-protection business, it’s hard to tell what’s safe and what’s potentially dangerous! It’s getting so I’m afraid to surf anymore!
David,
If you got it through Microsoft then yes, it is a legit program.
You can see the information for Microsoft Security Essentials here at Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
I started researching ‘work at home’ and other such money making schemes back in 1999 and stopped a few years ago—-should have kept a list, but is was sorrowful enough just knowing that there are so many low-life’s out there who will rob you of your last dollar without a second thought.
However, some of the scammers went to jail—-even a retired judge from Idaho was recently sentenced to six years for running some sort of ‘inventory-backed’ponzi—he and his partner (Bryant E. Behrmann and Larry “Buck” E. Hunter) who operated Global Online—-They got 8 million. And six years in the pokey.
Keep up the good work, Paul. I know how tedious and disappointing it can be—-but, hey, look at all the good you are doing by saving a lot of your readers from scams which only take their money and offer promises.
Thanks, John
I appreciate it.
Thanks again Paul,
I do not bother opening any e-mails that are not relevant any more and it saves me time in having to read them. thanks for your stirling work again.
James
Thanks, James.
help me i want to know of a real money making site. what do i choose
Justin,
I recommend you watch this video to see what it really takes to make money online.
Thanks again Paul for a job well done. I am so glad that I found you on the net. You are sort of like an internet sheriff exposing all of the bad guys.
Tam
Thanks, Tammy.
Hi can someone help me to start working online.
Thanks
Sue
Sue, if you’re talking about Telecommuting work, you could check out HomeJobStop reviewed here:
http://www.workathometruth.com/HomeJobStop-review.php
Personally, I think people are much better off learning to make money on their own nowadays. You might want to watch
the video here:

Just cleared a virus from 2 machines that was redirecting all browsers there. it was sitting in tcpip.sys file. Avira tried to delete the whole file which results in loss of internet capability, Hitman Pro 3.5 detected but didnt do anything about it. To clean it had to use TDSSKiller.exe. Potentially this virus was giving full and unlimited access/control to an outside party. If you have/had it, i would strongly advise changing passwords.
Thanks man for this post. I actually saw the promotion of this business on facebook and I got curious. Only to find out that the website for ra7newsfeed.com/job_report.html was FAKE.
Will be alerting my readers come Friday.
Hi Paul,
I have been looking to find a website to make a living or some money on the internet,i looked at your list of scammers,i found some others over the last months and i warned them to change there ways, mostly are based in europe, using google earth and street view i check them out,you do need to go to companys house to check for vat number.I have been considering downloading virus and send to them, but i have not done yet we need more guys like us.Thanks for above website i might give them a go.
Amazingly this crap is still going on with newsdaily7 – check out this Google content network ad on Gumtree with a display url of wahm.co.uk –
http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac355/scamscreenshots/workfromhomescamadongumtree.jpg
Click on the ad and you actually end up at newsdaily7.co.uk (fake news website) with the usual crap except this time instead of a Google adsense check there is an amazon one! They also claim that the “opportunity” has an A rating with the BBB “Online Success Kit (Rated A+ by the BBB)” – in fact the offer is from XM Brands (see below) who have an F rating.
Click on the link and you go via incentaclick.com (CX Digital Media CPA network) to onlineprofitvault.com which is one of many scammy websites run by XM Brands in Florida.
http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/xm-brands-c188439.html?sort=datea&page=2
Amazing that Google adwords is still allowing this…
John,
How can you tell those are Adsense content ads? I couldn’t tell that from the photo.
Also, the offer I got when I clicked was Exclusive Cash Secrets (I wrote up here).
Oh. OK. There is a UK version and U.S. version of NewsDaily7 – so it took me to the U.S. one.
All the “sponsored link” ads on http://www.gumtree.com/ are from Google – it shows up in the url when you hover, ie: http://www.google.com/aclk?sa= or http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/aclk?sa=
On the other the work from home scam display ads shown here on the Gumtree front page: http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac355/scamscreenshots/scamadsongumtreefrontpage.jpg go via bnmla.com who are Blink New Media /Zedo / engageBDR
9000 sunset blvd.
Ste 525
west hollywood, CA 90069
http://whois.domaintools.com/bnmla.com
Great info.
Thanks for explaining that.
By the way, here’s another potential way to connect websites:
http://garwarner.blogspot.com/2010/09/linking-spam-by-its-attachments.html
It would require setting up a special environment for the analysis, but definitely something I hadn’t thought about. In other words, use the same technique he’s using there, but apply it to websites.
Of course, you’d have to know if the website is simply being exploited or if the owner is intentially delivering malware, etc.
Here is another one spotted today on the Herald (Scottish newspaper) website:
Ad: How to Lose Stomach Fat
Learn how 1 secret Diet tip will melt away all the ugly stomach fat
recipe.lowfatlifestyle.com/
http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac355/scamscreenshots/scamadsenseAcaiColonCleanseAdwithfakedestinationurl.jpg
But rather than going to lowfatlifestyle.com/ clicking on the ad takes you to fake news website: dietanswer.net
A reverse ip shows these sites also on the same server:
Consumer-warning.info
Consumer-warning.net
Consumerinfoguide.net
7 more…
Consumer warning – what an ironic name! There should be a consumer warning attached to all these fake news websites!
Right around the time 1′ 25″ in the Fake News Phenomenon I have a little caption that says, “Wow, there sure is a lot of fake help for consumers”. There are tons of those “consumer warning” sites out there.
Ha! Ha! Have you seen this?
http://newsdaily7.com.hardballseo.info/newsdaily7.com
(Comes up on the first page of Google results when you search for newsdaily7)
LOL.
I’m sure NewsDaily7.com is gonna jump all over that offer!
I just sign up for the newsdaily7 promo, how can i make sure they wont charge me more? i was stupid enoughm to fall for it ;(
HELP!!!
You need to work with your credit card company or bank to make sure that doesn’t happen.
You’re credit card company will typically have a number on the back of your statement for filing disputes.
great job on this info.
Hi
Today I came across those seven, newly registered Domains:
workathomeclubonline.com
workathomemomblogonline.com
workathomemomcash.com
workathomemomdollars.com
workathomemominfo.com
workathomemomnews.com
workathomemomsuccess.com
Great find, Sara
Thanks for posting those.
Pleasure
I think you can add lots more to the list, I came across lots of 7daily-crap domains. (so far it seems like over 50, but probably lots more..) If you can contact me per email I can send you a list.
Yep. I actually have thousands of fake news sites listed in the “not recommended” section, but I can use all the help I can get. They are just out of control.
Yep. I’ll send you an email, too.
Thanks.
Hi Paul,
Is there a cheaper way to find same ownership domains?
According to domain tools, the person who owns the domain below also owns 36 other domains but they want to charge me a Report Price of $139.98 just to find out what they are!
http://whois.domaintools.com/swipeauctions-winners.com
Thank you.
John,
One thing I do that turns up a lot of them is just do searches on various parts of the records via google/yahoo/bing – which you probably already thought of.
But there are a couple sections on the competitive intelligence page here that list quite a few tools.
Look at the sections:
Tools developed specifically to determine potential ownership between websites
and
“Swiss Army Knife” type tools designed for network exploration.
good job
News 7 daily Will you stop bombarding me with these ads. I am sick to death of this popping up on top of what I am already doing, with blaring voices telling how I can work at home. If I want to do that, I will do an online search. Leave me the fuck alone. You are just making me so angry. I want to find you and blow you up. Every time a site like yours crashes in on me, I have to restart my computer which wastes tons of time considering you’re not the only one doinng this to me. I have pop blockers on, I’m supposed to be protected, and yet here you are. Stolp this unethical method of getting your foot in the door. Nobody likes a party crasher, and you’re the worst.
Hi Paul, Ive been going through all this, cos I want to try to be doing some online work at home for a little income, I got confused now !
So is this link u sent here ok to join with ??
http://store.workathometruth.com/top-recommended.php
Hi Sandra,
Yes. That is what I recommend for people who would like to start a home business.
Ok, thanks Paul
So, what should I do if I have already sent money to this scam?
You need to file a dispute with your credit card company or bank. Credit card dispute procedures are typically on the back of your credit card statement.
You can get more information about working with your bank at http://www.helpwithmybank.gov
The video on your “recommended” link is not working. How do I know YOU are not a scammed?
Am,
Are you on dial up or a slower connection? If so you will have to wait about 10 seconds. Other than that it’s still working fine.
http://news7kjih.com/?article=7142163
is this the same thing as the NewsDaily7?
Hi, someone mails me about one of those sites : newsdaily7.com
My question is probably gonna be stupid but, I’d like to know if those kind of sites are real, or if it’s just scams ? I guess not, there are scams, there’re pieces of shit but I ask to be completly sure!
I went on newsdaily7 and almost sent the 20$ asked by Paypal ! And then I saw this site, red all your discussions and ask you!
Expected for an answer thanks
They are NOT real. The products they recommend are either very bad or just outright fraud. Also, some of them make you think you are paying only a small amount, then secretly charge your card hundreds of dollars. After that you can expect relentless calls from sales people even AFTER you tell them to stop calling them. They will convince you that to make things work you need to buy thousands of dollars of additional products, coaching, and other “services” all of which are worthless.
Okay, thanks a lot for your answer Paul ! And, as I said, if I went on their site and almost paid for it (but DIDN’T), is something wrong gonna happen to me ? Troubles with my bank, or many of commercials etc.. ?
There should be more authorities control on the web!
And again, thanks to you Paul
Nice work
How do you undo a scam if you have stupidly fallen victim?
First of all, I wouldn’t call yourself stupid. Scammers spend a lot of time working out how to run scams. The average person does NOT spend a lot of time working out how to avoid them.
Would you call yourself stupid if you lost a tennis match to Venus Williams? No, because she’s studied and practiced at the game much more than you. It’s the same with scammers. They are working on their “game” constantly.
As to how you undo one. What exactly do you mean? You might want to take a look at this post which goes into how to file complaints and possibly recover money:
http://www.workathometruth.com/blog/2010/12/30/how-to-file-consumer-complaints/
Still advertising this scam:

Ads are run on z5X.net (aka DSNR Media Group, Israel)
http://ad.z5x.net/clk?
Ads seen on twitpic and go to:
newsdaily7.com
Thanks, John – especially for the Media Group info.
Thanks Paul, for this whole discourse. I have learnt so much.I believe that your suggestions have not only educated me about scams, but has also led me to valuable information about the Microsoft security facilities.
Thanks again.
You’re welcome, Al.
i want to work at home plz tak e me
Also on daily7 all the comments are posted on same day, just varying times, with everyday regular names. Look for the little thing’s that stick out, if there’s even one, be suspicious.
newsdaily7.com appears to be down although their ads are all over adbrite.com
However newsdaily7.net is a copy and is still up and running. newsdaily7.net has whois info hidden with domain privacy. But their link for Home Income Profit System goes via trackoptimize.com
Which does have some whois info:
Jeremy Ricks
3717 Buchanan St
San Francisco, CA 94123
USA
2226 Silbert St
San Francisco, CA 94123
USA
http://whois.domaintools.com/trackoptimize.com
Address appears to belong to Jar Media? (415) 567-4217
(searching the first address on Google)
A search for “Jeremy Ricks” (with quotes) also brings up Jar Media:
http://www.linkedin.com/pub/jeremy-ricks/7/521/2b9
http://www.crunchbase.com/company/jar-media
It’s still up for me, John.
It would be so weird if the most notorious fake news site of all time shut down. I mean, it would be like the New York Times closing.
Yep, so it is. Not only that but they are STILL advertising on Yahoo (first saw their ads on there months ago). I guess Yahoo is so desperate for money they will let you advertise anything you like on there – even outright scams.
Screenshot from as search done today: (11 Feb 2011):

Nice.
I actually got a call from NewsDaily7′s ad serving platform, although I can’t recall who it was at this point – asking me about what they’re up to. That was a while back, so either the one you pointed out above is a new one, or the old one decided News Daily 7 was just fine and dandy.
Thanks for this..
It’s a total scam to find shipping mules. The scam is after US citizens, and I wonder why it’s still there and why I can advertisements on major websites…
The owners are russians, which is obvious
The link at the end (michael brown) is the same bullshit as newsdaily 7… a guy telling you how to make money, but of course, charging you for the tip.
Same bullshit everywere.
Pablo,
It sounds like you are looking for free information. If so, then check out the resources on this page:

I would definitely use your library to the full extent possible. If your local library doesn’t have what you need, you should be able to obtain books and other material through their interlibrary loan program.
Michael isn’t charging you for a “tip”. He’s providing FULL SUPPORT for a ONE-TIME fee of $47 for LIFETIME access to the course, full forum support.
It sounds like you don’t have a good benchmark for comparing the value of that. MOST places would charge you MONTHLY for forum access like that.
Maybe you’ve never taken guitar lessons, piano lessons, drum lessons, etc. where you are charged for training? It sounds like you’re in a country where people give away their expertise for free maybe?
I try to show people how to bootstrap their business as much as possible for as LOW a cost as possible. You can do things for free as explained in that other post, but it will just take you longer and you’ll have to figure out more on your own when you get stuck (as opposed to having full forum access and support in a course such as Niche Blitzkrieg).
Just wondering new to this work at deal, I was just wondering theres really a real legit work from home companies? Do You Know Of Any?
Neshia I would check this page:

Here’s a website from a reliable organisation that lists website with real work at home jobs. Article about this website has been written by CNN

Dear Paul,
You’ve done a wonderful job in providing an in depth analysis of the SCAM MAFIA, which has probably duped millions of innocent job seekers.
Thank you and may God Bless You !!
Thanks, Sylvester.
Newsdaily7.com fake news website is also advertising on Facebook:
http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/4804/newsdailydotcomscamadon.jpg
The ad url says jobsonlinetoolkit.com but when you click on it, it goes to newsdaily7.com and is promoting the Automated Home Profits scam:

Amazing.
Thanks for the warning, Paul!
I also got an ad by NewsDaily 7 popping up from my Photobucket main album page just yesterday. Suspicious, I googled ‘NewsDaily 7 scam’ and found this page. So I took a screenshot and informed Photobucket, who are now investigating.
Thanks Teresa,
Glad to hear you’re doing that, too.
Interesting comment on here which hints at something more sinister than your standard fake news site work from home scam:
“Potentially this virus was giving full and unlimited access/control to an outside party. If you have/had it, i would strongly advise changing passwords.”

Other similar threads and complaints elsewhere. Also, if you type newsdaily7 into Google followed by a space, Google suggest suggests:
newsdaily7 scam
newsdaily7 virus
newsdaily7 popup and
newsdaily7 remove
Thanks, John.
Well it seemed fairly sinister that they were hijacking Microsofts name servers. So this latest information isn’t surprising.
This has to be one of the strangest scams from the sheer pervasiveness of it.
It actually seems that the bizop scams are MORE pervasive than they were back in 2009. Or maybe we’re just getting better at finding them.
The first text ad (Sponsored Links) on this About.com page also goes to newsdaily7 (although it says project4hire.com that’s another false display url, it doesn’t go there, it goes to trackemclicks.info and then redirects on to newsdaily7). The text ads are from google adwords: http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/aclk? so that means that newsdaily7 is still advertising on adwords using false display urls!

The ad which goes to newsdaily7 reads:
$40-87/Hr Work From Home
Can You Type? Earn $40-87/Hr

project4hire.com/Work-From-Home
The image ads are from zedo.com
The middle image ad also goes to newsdaily7 while the other two also go to fake news websites, one for an acai pill scam and one for a teeth whitening scam.

Not sure how any of these ads comply with the ethics/advertising policy of About.com (Owned by the New York Times):

No, I hadn’t! Haven’t checked my rss reader in quite some time.
Thanks for the tip.
