How to Get Back Overdraft Fees From Your Bank

There’s been a lot of talk recently about the Federal Reserve cracking down on overdraft fees and banning ATM, Debit Overdraft Fees without customer explicitly opting into the overdraft fee programs.

As I was reading up on this, I ran into an interesting video on how to get back overdraft fees from your bank. It’s hard to imagine this NOT working in most circumstances as it’s a matter of simple economics for the Banks:

Note, this post isn’t about the pros and consĀ of overdraft protection. This is about the fact that many things in life are negotiable if you are willing to try.

Feel free to share your experiences (good or bad) with overdraft fees and/or overdraft protection, including any helpful tips you might have for people on how to recover overdraft fees.

Interesting ways to earn extra money

Not too long ago Woman’s Day magazine ran an article called 10 Most Unusual Ways to Make Money which included such methods as selling your hair at TheHairTrader.com (which I’d say qualifies as an unusual money maker).

I’ve seen people attempt lists of unusual ways to make money and I’ve attempted such a list myself in the past – and honestly even my list was pretty boring and not really all that adventuresome or unique. So today I started on a new quest to find creative ways to make extra money by randomizing my searching a bit more than I have in the past.

Bingo!

While the first part of my new list still remains a tad dull I discovered new ways to randomize my searching and started to get more interesting results.

You can see the results of my new search techniques at this Squidoo lens on ways to make extra money. You’ll notice that the ideas at the top of the lens are in general much less interesting than ones towards the bottom.

Cash4Gold Story on Inside Edition

I just watched a Cash4Gold story on Inside Edition. Well, it wasn’t just about Cash4Gold – it was about selling gold in general and the results were pretty interesting.

I know nothing about selling gold, but I’ve seen Cash4Gold run through some of the affiliate networks like HydraNetwork quite a bit so I was interested in the results of the story.

Inside Edition had their own Gold expert examine some Gold that they would then go out and try to sell to various local gold buyers and also Cash4Gold.

Based on their results, Inside Edition suggested this:

  1. Never take the first offer given to you for your gold. Every time they declined an offer, the gold buyer came back with a higher one. Sometimes they declined multiple times and got multiple higher offers.
  2. Deal with a locally trusted gold buyer when you can.

Right after I posted this I found a write-up of the story at the Inside Edition website.

You can read Inside Edition’s story about selling gold and how Cash4Gold fared in their story here.
