There's not much new with Internet-News-Daily.com (a.k.a. "Online Jobs Journal") but, it's interesting to continue to see the increase in flogging after the July FTC crackdown on negative option scams that used affiliate flogs as a primary presales technique. The type of flog (fake blog) being used in these cases used fake stories with fake screenshots of checks and fake testimonials.

As we've seen before the amount of traffic sites like Internet-News-Daily.com continue to get is alarmingly high:

Internet-News-Daily.com tells the familiar Mary Steadman story which claims that she makes $7,000/month submitting small texts and ads on Google….ah, whatever happened to the good ol' days of just posting "links"?

You may want to take a look at Michael Brown's write up about the to "Make Money Posting Links on Google Scam" if you aren't sure what I'm talking about in that last remark.

Internet-News-Daily's recommendation of Google Profits

"Kevin M." and family - a.k.a. iStockPhoto 00006556811

If you click through on the Internet-News-Daily Google Biz Kit link you"ll be taken to a page on site called SecureFormNet.com which promotes a program called Google Profits which bizarrely claims to be a trademarked name. I guess their next move will be to claim trademark rights for the Google logo they're using on their site.

Google Profits presents a testimonial from "Kevin M." who claims to "make more money at home watching TV" than (he) was at (his) previous job working 9-5".

As usual Google Profits is using a stock photo for this testimonial. What's a bit strange though is that they don't have the usual weird disclaimer saying that they are using alternate pictures to protect the privacy of the person giving the testimonial.

And of course there are the usual ABC, MSN, CNN, and USAToday logos with no explanation at all as to why they are there.

But probably the funniest thing on the page is the "HURRY, Only 57 Kits Left!" considering that the whole sentence is part of a larger image.

The Google Profits order page contains all too familiar elements:

"Aaron H." performing his duties as a stock photo at IStockPhoto

Of course there is requisite stock photo used for the testimonial on Google Profits' order page, which I just bought from iStockPhoto.

Apparently Google Profits must get tons of refund requests really fast, because the order page states that there are "Only 37 Kits Left!" (again the phrase is part of the image), but when I went back to the original page 3 seconds later there were 57 Kits Left again.

Assuming a 12-hour sales day, that would be 20 refunds per minute x 720 minutes = 14,400 refunds per day!

Anyhow…finishing up the order page we find the terms in tiny white print at the bottom of the page AFTER the large graphic "FREE TRIAL!" arrow which points to the large red "Rush My Kit!" image, which state:

"I have read and agree to the Privacy Policy/Terms and Conditions. By submitting this form, I am ordering the Google Profit™ CD trial for $1.97 shipping and handling, after the 30 day trial I will be charged $99 for the program. I also agree to the 14 day trial to Google Profit Resource membership for 47.50 per month there after should i choose do not cancel. Charges will appear on credit/debit statements as "GoogCD866-995-9812". For questions, call 1-866-995-9812 M-F, 6am-7pm, PST."

For "some" reason the hyperlink for "Privacy Policy" is in the traditional blue hyperlink convention whereas the Terms and Conditions hyperlink is not. Hmmm. I wonder why they did that?

Hyperlink coloring at the bottom of the Google Profits Order Page. Click for full image.

Even more interesting is the fact that in the actual terms and conditions there is the potential for ANOTHER monthly charge NOT mentioned at the bottom of the page. The last part of "Fees and Pricing" under the Terms and Conditions states:

"You have also been enrolled into a seven (7) day trial to the eBay Money Resource Center. Should you choose not to cancel your eBay Money Resource Center, you will be billed seven dollars and seventy one cents ($7.71) each month for the eBay Money Resource Center. If you wish to cancel your eBay Money Resource Center subscription, please call 1-800-215-1752 to cancel."

How much money is the affiliate running Internet-News-Daily making?

Obviously, I don't know his exact numbers, but my best guess is that a presell like Internet-News-Daily.com would convert this type of "biz kit" offer at between 5% to 10%, but even if you assume a 10% clickthrough rate on the fake news site to the Google Profits site which it promotes then you get the following astonishing number:

(800,000 unique visitors) x (10% clickthrough on Internet-News-Daily) x (5% conversion rate) = 4,000 conversions per month from just one affiliate.

To get a sense of how much companies are paying for leads on these types of offers I took a look at a couple of the affiliate network comparison engines – OfferVault.com and oDigger.com and it appears the payout averages around $30.00 per lead.

If that affiliate is earning $30.00 per conversion, then he or she is bringing in $120,000.00 per month before expenses.

Considering that the affiliate is likely running multiple offers in different markets where flogs are pervasive – i.e. health, diet, anti-aging, teeth-whitening, etc. - it's not unreasonable to conclude that one affiliate could be bringing in nearly a half million dollars per month (before expenses), if not more.

It seems a safe bet that given these types of numbers, flogs promoting questionable negative option offers will be around for a VERY long time.

I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about ProfitsAtHomeNow.com right now, but it did come up as a top referrer for the site TheDailyTribuneOnline.com so I thought ProfitsAtHomeNow should be discussed a bit.

The first thing that jumps out are the pictures used on ProfitsAtHomeNow which are the same pictures that have been used over the past year on various flogs (fake blogs). Note, ProfitsAtHomeNow.com isn't technically a flog, but it IS using the pictures found all over the internet on many of the fake blogs.

Bizarrely, ProfitsAtHome.com puts the following disclaimer:

"To protect their privacy the above images do not reflect the person who submitted the testimonial."

While that MAY be true about ProfitsAtHome.com's testimonials, in general anytime you see that disclaimer these days it should raise a HUGE RED FLAG.

What's happened in many cases is that websites have been being busted either – either formally or informally – for using fake testimonials. And now many of them are scrambling to cover their behinds by putting up disclaimers stating basically "Yeh, our testimonials are fake, but we're OK, because we're telling you they're fake".

By the way, the disclaimers are usually longer than the one on ProfitsAtHome.com and go something like this:

"*INCOME CLAIM WARNING: Testimonials do not result typical result. Photographs or images are depiction of individuals and payment methods. These income examples are representative of some of the most successful participants in the program. Some individuals purchasing the program may make little or NO MONEY AT ALL. These claims are not a guarantee of your income, nor are they typical of average participants. Individual results will vary greatly and in accordance to your input, determination, hard work, and ability to follow directions. No person or company can guarantee profits or freedom from loss."

Here's an EASIER DISCLAIMER for all the FLOGS and sites that feel the need to "protect the privacy" of the people in the testimonials:

UNIVERSAL WEBSITE DISCLAIMER/WARNING: Everything you read on this site is probably just a bunch of nonsense.

That should cover it, eh?

The IRONY of "Protecting the Privacy" of testimonial givers

Here's the biggest irony of flogs "protecting the privacy" of testimonial givers: MANY of the testimonials used on Flogs were proven to be STOLEN which is the MAIN REASON I can think of using an alternate photo (say a stock photo) to protect someone's privacy – although I don't even know if it's legal to do so.

Products that ProfitsAtHomeNow.com promotes:

ProfitsAtHomeNow.com promotes the following two products:

Runner up (i.e. #2) is a product called AuctionProfitCenter.com which promises to let you "Harness the Power of eBay with the FREE auction success kit".

George and Samantha happy being iStockPhoto 000006112751

Apparently AuctionProfitCenter.com didn't get the memo about the Testimonial Stock Photo images disclaimers as they just boldy threw up a testimonial allegedly from "George and Samantha" and using iStockPhoto's stock photo 000006112751 – a.k.a. "Happy Couple at the Beach".

Of course after enough people start pointing out that it's a stock photo AuctionProfitCenter.com will likely "remember" to add some or all of the following disclaimer:

"*INCOME CLAIM WARNING: Testimonials do not result typical result. Photographs or images are depiction of individuals and payment methods. These income examples are representative of some of the most successful participants in the program. Some individuals purchasing the program may make little or NO MONEY AT ALL. These claims are not a guarantee of your income, nor are they typical of average participants. Individual results will vary greatly and in accordance to your input, determination, hard work, and ability to follow directions. No person or company can guarantee profits or freedom from loss."

They might EVEN decide to NOT precheck the box that says "I agree to the terms and conditions".

Maybe they'll even explain exactly what they mean by "As seen on Yahoo!, YouTube, Google, CNN, MSN, and Forbes".

The #1 product ProfitsAtHomeNow.com promotes is…

Ah, never mind. It's probably just a bunch of nonsense anyhow.

Note: A few other sites similar to ProfitsAtHomeNow.com are:

BigProfitsAtHomeNow.com

MyHomeInternetBiz.com

LazyGuideToWealth.com

I've mentioned before that the fewer sites that are hosted on the same IP – the more likely that the sites are owned by the same company or person.

So the issue here is that the site RipOff-Review.org has the following listed as it's Top 3 recommended Work At Home Programs:

MyProfitSite.com

TradingFromHome.com

Survey-Broker.com

Additionally, the following three sites share the same Google Analytics account (Google Analytics shows website owners how people found their site, and how they explored it:

RipOff-Review.org

TradingFromHome.com

Survey-Broker.com

Each Google Analytics account uses a unique identifier. The above sites share the Google Analytics code "UA-4052966". Normally each site would also append a different number, but in this case the person who operates the above 3 sites is using the same suffix for the Google Analytics code (UA-4052966-2) as you can see in the images below:

MyProfitSite.com and VerifiedSafePay.com

When I clicked to order MyProfitSite I was taking to an order page on a site called VerifiedSafePay.com.

The first thing I noticed was the non-clickable Authorize.net verified merchant seal. Now according to Authorize.net, to configure their Verified Merchant Seal a merchant does the following:

"Log into the Merchant Interface to configure the Web site domain(s) on which you would like to display the Verified Merchant Seal. Then copy and paste the generated seal HTML to the desired area(s) of your Web site(s). When a customer clicks on your Verified Merchant Seal, a site verification window appears showing that you are an active Authorize.Net merchant."

Besides the fact that the Authorize.net seal on VerifiedSafePay.com is not clickable, it's a bit strange that the VerifiedSafePay.com site would be hosting the Authorize.net Verified Merchant logo – which they are as you can see by the two images below:

VerifiedSafePay.com hosting Authorize.net image?

VerifiedSafePay.com hosting Authorize.net image

But before I go too far afield, let's see what VerifiedSafePay.com has to say for itself:

"Verified Safe Pay Hub is an online payment site for select merchants that meet our good business practice standards. We make things easier for everyone by focusing on providing the best solutions, which is what we do best. "

Hmmm. Not sure if I want to deal with merchants that meet YOUR good business practice standards.

Out of curiosity I bought a nameserver report from DomainTools.com to see what other domains were hosted on the same nameserver as VerifiedSafePays.com nameserver – i-tech-media.com:

Amongst the other sites sharing the same name server with VerifiedSafePay.com are our old buddies:

MyProfitSite.com

TradingFromHome.com

Survey-Broker.com

Also, Best10HomeBusiness.org offers the follow as it's top 3 "Certified" programs (whatever "certified" means):

www. Trading From Home.com

www. Home Cash Course.com

www. Survey Broker.com

Another site that uses i-tech-media.com as it's nameserver is HomeJobDailyNews.com which tells us the story of Connie Peterson and immediately relays the following quotation from her website: "I get paid about $25 for every link I post on the Internet and I get paid every week… I make around $7200 a month right now".

Hmm. Where have I heard that before?

Connie Peterson's story is a bit confusing, though, because later on Connie says that she and her husband "Kevin" "happened upon a system called " MyProfitSite" that taught them how to make money posting information online."

Wow. Posting "information". That sounds a LOT more complicated than posting "links" like she was first talking about.

I'm out. LOL.

Luckily there's a woman at LindasTips.com who might have a good way to make money and even includes a close-up of a really blurry Google check. I was going to post a comment on her blog, but "Sadly" "Post comments have been disabled from malicious spam".

I'm devastated.

Scam-Hotline.org "Certified" ClickBank report

Thankfully, I can take a look at one of the other sites using the i-tech-media.com name server and even hosted on our favorite I.P. – 67.212.182.186. Some guy named "William Tompkins" apparently has a "Certified Click Bank Report".

I wonder what that means? Who certified it? Mickey Mouse?

Ugh. After I clicked to view the "Certified ClickBank Report" I just get a page at Scam-Hotline.org recommending the same three programs AGAIN…

Wait, why am I surprised about that. OK, I'm not.

Alrighty then…moving on down the ol' i-tech-media.com name server list we have TheWorkAtHomeReview.org from "Mr. X – The Whistleblower" – and looks like based on Mr. X's recommendations he should be blowing the whistle on himself!

Let's see we have the following recommendations from TheWorkAtHomeReview.org:

Last on the I-Tech-Media.com name server list is YourWorkAtHomeTop10.com which presents us with the following choices:

He's Tim Holl – a.k.a. iStockPhoto 000000559716. You may remember him from his testimonial on Sebastian Foss' program RapidRiches.com in which he said:

"Thank you for giving me the opportunity to earn some extra money online although I don't live in North America. I'm not making thousands just yet, but the extra money has really helped in paying off some of my bills. It's also great to see that you have many companies just for Australians. – Tim Holl, Australia"

Oh, wait. That's the same testimonial he's giving on Michelle Stevens' HomeProfitCode.com – well, one thing about Stock Photo testimonials…they certainly are consistent.

I bet "Savane" was thrilled to be able to "Watch a torrent of internet cash pour in by the $1,000s every week". Her kids seem pleased with the "torrents of internet cash", too.

iStockPhoto 000002830061 – a.k.a. "Laura Johnson" is "Happy and Confident" after finding that HomeProfitCode.com course – at least that's how her stock photo describes her at iStockPhoto.

She does look happy. I guess she's confident. She's definitely confident enough to give the same testimonial she gave on the RapidRiches.com site:

"Thanks for responding so quickly! It is rare that you find good customer support on the net these days, but you guys answered my question within only 30 minutes of my email. By the way, keep up the good work on the website. – Laura Johnson, UK"

I wonder if they contacted her at her iStockPhoto email?

Hi, we're using an invalid TRUSTe trust mark! Look at us!

Now, come on. If you're gonna use an invalid TRUSTe trust mark, do you really want to shove the invalid TRUSTe trust mark right in the middle of your sales copy?

Yeh, probably. I mean if you're going to use stock photos for testimonials, why wouldn't you throw an invalid trust mark in just for good measure? Really, you'd be crazy not to.

Please don't call me cynical!

iStockPhoto 000005673793 - a.k.a. "Michelle Stevens"

Now, call me cynical – but I'm starting to think that Michelle Stevens isn't even a real person. I mean, yeh, she's real, but in a "stock-photo" kind of way.

Maybe that's what Home Profit Code means when it says "As featured in Weekend Entrepreneur" – maybe her stock photo was featured there. I bet that's what the meant. I mean they wouldn't lie about a thing like that would they? Would they?

Hey, that reminds me of the ol' "Right? Right?" at the beginning of the post.

Apparently using a smiley face absolves you of all accountability since HomeProfitCode. Michelle sure uses those smiley faces a lot on the HomeCashCode.com sales letter!

Let me give it a whirl:

"I ran into your car and nobody's going to pay for it!"

"No, I'm NOT going to pay you back the $50 you lent me!"

"Guess what officer? I wasn't going 5 miles over the speed limit. I was going 10 miles over the speed limit!"

I don't know. It's not really working for me. Maybe if I used a stock photo next to them it would feel better.

Smiling woman in the forest. iStock Photo 000003246920

Just one last thing about one of the Home Profit Code course's claims:

"All sorts of people… pastors, retired veterans, work-at-home moms, frustrated corporate executives, bus drivers, and many others… have all discovered this secret method of making real money from home! "

I just want to point out that just because Home Profit Code didn't specify "forest dwellers" does NOT mean that you're out of luck if you live in the forest.

I just know I'm going to get a lot of questions about that, so I thought it better to err on the side of caution.

Note: I am NOT saying this is a Sebastian Foss website!

I want to be clear about this – I'm not saying that this is a Sebastian Foss website. I checked the SpamHause ROSKO database and HomeProfitCode is NOT listed as an active domain owned by Sebastian Foss. The list of active domains SpamHaus has for Sebastian Foss does NOT include HomeProfitCode.com as you can see here:

I was surprised to see SwapClix being promoted recenty as SwapClix 2.0. SwapClix originally came out back in 2004/2005 and was one of the first products about PPC arbitrage - a system whereby you would buy cheap clicks on one PPC search engine and send them to a site where you'd get PAID for people who clicked on your ads from a network (usually Google Adsense) that typically paid more.

Stav at his job - being stock photo 6315357 at IStockPhoto

I was surprised to see SwapClix being promoted recenty as SwapClix 2.0. SwapClix originally came out back in 2004/2005 and was one of the first products about PPC arbitrage - a system whereby you would buy cheap clicks on one PPC search engine and send them to a site where you'd get PAID for people who clicked on your ads from a network (usually Google Adsense) that typically paid more.

This was a DIFFERENT type of arbitrage than what is usually taught today in courses like The Arbitrage Conspiracy or any of the other countless CPA courses – CPANinjas, MaverickMoneyMakers, etc. that surfaced after The Arbitrage Conspiracy course. In fact, technically sending pay per click traffic to a CPA offer isn't really arbitrage at all – as arbitrage typically means that you are buying some THING (i.e. a "click") for one price and selling that same sort of THING (i.e. a "click") at a different price and pocketing the difference.

Does Travis Sago endorse SwapClix 2.0?

One of the first things that caught my eye was Travis Sago's endorsement of SwapClix. Was this an endorsement for the ORIGINAL SwapClix product or for the new SwapClix 2.0?

I took a look at the review page where Travis Sago has almost the EXACT same wording as the testimonial for SwapClix 2.0 (only one word is different). Then I used a javascript command on Travis Sago's review page to see when Travis Sago's review was last updated:

Does Travis Sago endorse SwapClix 2.0?

To determine the date that the page was updated I went to the page in question and typed the following javascript into the address bar of my browser:

javascript:alert(document.lastModified)

Of course for this to work you need to have javascript enabled in your browser.

So my GUESS based on this is that the testimonial from Travis Sago is for the ORIGINAL version of SwapClix.

Stav at his job – being stock photo 6315357 at IStockPhoto

If you've seen the SwapClix 2.0 sales page, you probably recognized the stock photo used at the beginning of this QuickShot review of SwapClix 2.0. The presumed author of SwapClix "Patrick Creek" says that the photo is of his friend Staveros, who "cleans boats for a living", puts the SwapClix system into place for 2 hours and makes a profit of $42.54. IStockPhoto tells us that it's stock photo 6315357 (click here to verify).

Businessman leaning on something. iStockPhoto 3386248

Now, of course:

It's POSSIBLE that "Patrick Creek" has a Greek friend named Staveros who also HAPPENS to have his picture on a stock photo site…

…AND it's POSSIBLE that Travis Sago LOVES SwapClix 2.0 even though the his testimonial appears to be fore the original SwapClix product…

AND it's POSSIBLE that the image shown at the beginning of the SwapClix 2.0 salespage isn't supposed to be "Patrick Creek", but merely some guy who likes to hange out on sales pages (after all, we've just seen how much fun they can be haven't we?").

So should I review the actual SwapClix 2.0 product now?

Usually after looking at a sales page like this I would be hesitant to move along further and actually look at the product in question. After all, it seems highly unlikely that a product with this type of sales page would end up replacing one of the products on the WorkAtHomeTruth Top 10 Recommended Home Businesses list.

Right now, i'm going to take a "wait and see" approach as there is someone in the WarriorForum named Tom giving pretty detailed feedback regarding what SwapClix 2.0 is all about.

After reading the first PDF from SwapClix 2.0 Tom said: "I just finished reading the first PDF and it was mostly a sales pitch for the value of CPA, then a generic history of CPA and their networks, a generic tutorial on getting accepted and a few other "generic" things. So far not impressed…"

Click here to read more about what Tom has to say about SwapClix 2.0

Just an aside – I noticed that the person fielding the questions about SwapClix 2.0 in the WarriorForum's username is CWDSteve and using a "CWD" logo. That leads me to suspect that the owner and creator of SwapClix 2.0 may still be Costas Dedes – a.k.a. Constantine W. Dedes.

Upon seeing True-Money.com and some of the comments about True-Money.com I began to realize that there are two types of people looking to build a business online.

The ones who keep throwing away their money in programs like True-Money.com that can never possibly work based on pure math. And those who actually realize that they will have to do some real WORK to build a business.

The dead giveaway that a program like True-Money.com is destined for failure is the statement "No Recruiting Required". Programs like these have NEVER been sustainable and they NEVER will be. And even if they WERE somehow mathematically sustainble, it would take a huge amount of media buying knowledge to make it all happen – but again, I see no way that a program like True-Money.com can be self-sustaining.

And why are the SAME people giving testimonials several times on the testimonials page?

And how about those 445.34 worth of products with resale rights? NOPE!

Some of those products have been floating around the internet since the early 2000s and have been given away free all over the place. If I were to stretch my imagination a bit, I MIGHT consider the whole package to be worth maybe 20 bucks.

If you keep getting suckered into programs like True-Money.com only to be disappointed – here's a tip…

STOP looking for "easy ways to make millions of dollars!"

MakeMoneyStudio prouldy proclaims that you can "Learn how over 5,831 people worldwide make $200 – $2,000 every day through MakeMoneyStudio".

But let's just pause there and ask a hypothetical question: how many of those 5,831 using the MakeMoneyStudio site are stock photo images?

I know of at least four people on the MakeMoneyStudio.com site that are…

…such as:

I hope I get a better part next time!

"Jim Karsons" who hangs out at the famous stock photo site stock.xchng here under the pseudonym "Image ID 872844".

You may remember him from his supporting role as testimonial-giver Adrian McGruder in Brent Austin's Automated Wealth system.

And who wouldn't use good ol' Jim? After all his face just shouts out "life is good!"

Then there's the "Friendly Latino Man" (at least that's what iStockPhoto calls him) which I just couldn't resist licensing for this post. On the MakeMoneyStudio site he goes by the name of "Rob Weybert" which seems strange to me as I never would have thought of "Weybert" as beeing a

"Hi I'm friendly".

latino name, but perhaps the folks in MakeMoneyStudio's offices in West Bengal, India – where the offices for MakeMoneyStudio's owners are located know better.

I will admit the guy looks friendly, though.

And "Jenny Myels" with her winning smile that won HER a slot as "Smile-4" at our old friend SXC.hu again. Now, I don't know if she's as friendly as Rob Weybert (a.k.a IStockPhoto 4178552), but I'll say one thing for SXC.hu listing "Jenny Myels", her smile sure is infections…dont' you agree? Either that or she just played a practical joke on someone:

Smiler or prankster?

2x0=0! Q.E.D.

Personally, I find Carrie Joyce's (pictured left) story the most believable when she says "I made 2 times my monthly salary in 5 days". After all she is a stock photo on a FREE stock photo site.

No wonder she doesn't look too happy in her picture!

Now, I have to admit that all of this makes me a "tad" skeptical about some of the other testimonials listed at MakeMoneyStudio. An honestly some of the testimonials I don't even understand…

…like when "Frank Stevens" says, "I made $1,649.32 cents yesterday. That’s how much 46” TV costs – in one day"

That must be a heck of a T.V. if it costs $602,001.80 – maybe it doubles as his living quarters or something.

Get free access to MakeMoneyStudio – kind of.

MakeMoneyStudio is pretty ambivalent about their business model. At first it seems to be a paid site as they have a section explaining that "they charge a fee so that they don't ruin the reputation of MakeMoneyStudio, to avoid "just curious" visitors, and because "we need some compensation".

However, once you try to sign up for fee you are told you must either take a trial offer or pay $97.00 for an official license to gain access to MakeMoneyStudio.com

I didn't have time to sort through all the trial offers to see if any were actually free – I think the eMusic one is, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I'll give them a B- for using TrialPay in this way. I like TrialPay, but I found the whole MakeMoneyStudio sales process to be a bit confusing. Also, using TrialPay kind of flies in the face of their claim that, "we're giving out full membership to MakeMoneyStudio because we can".

Succeeding is easy?

So do you have what it takes to succeed with MakeMoneyStudio…wait, why am I even asking that?

Quick shot review of eAuctionAtHome

What is a quick shot review? Quick shot reviews of sales letters like EAuctionAtHome are designed to teach you how to analyze sales letters more critically.

Observation #1: eAuctionAtHome's Michael Greene is an actor for that goes by the name of "Tim" on the site LiveFaceOnWeb. Click here to see photos of Tim.

Note: eAuctionAtHome does have a superscripted numeral "1" by Michael Greene's name, so maybe they explain that Michael Greene is being depicted by an actor somewhere, but I couldn't find what the superscripted numeral 1 referred to.

Observation #2:

I put in some ridiculous information in the eAuction form that asked me to "See if you qualify to check out the free starter kit", including saying that I was born in 2010 and here's what the eAuctionAtHome website spit back to me:

"If you genuinely are Widowed… 9 years old… and… your goal is to start getting paid up to $150,000 + working from home with Online Auctions, then you may be a perfect candidate to receive an Online Auctions Success System Kit to check out for FREE in your home. However, there are a very limited number of kits available in your area. so we’d like to ask you a few more short questions…"

Well, I guess that's "technically" true. I MAY be a "perfect candidate".

To be fair the website does make it clear that "you must be 18 years old" to use the site.

Observation #3:

If you run into any sort of legal dispute with the company that owns eAuctionAtHome the Terms of the Website state that you agree that "legal action arising out of this Agreement shall be litigated and enforced under the laws of Cyprus. In addition, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Cyprus, and that any legal action pursued by you shall be within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cyprus."

Observation #4: The Hacker Safe security seal on eAcutionAtHome.com is invalid

The eAuctionAtHome.com website is using the HackerSafe security seal. There are two important things to understand about the HackerSafe security seal and security seals in general:

McAfee Secure bought out Hacker Safe towards the end of 2007 for 51 Million Dollars and AUTOMATICALLY switched sites using the Hacker Safe seal to the McAfee Secure Seal.

The security seal on EAuctionAtHome.com is NOT clickable to a listing to verify their participation in a security seal program. The way YOU as a consumer can validate the legitimacy of a security seal is by clicking on it and it should take you to the company listing in directory of the company issuing the security seal.

Observation #4: You are automatically enrolled into three separate programs – each with different monthly charges.

While I don't have a problem with negative option marketing (such as Netflix where you are automatically charged monthly after a trial period), I believe that consumers should be given a CHOICE as to which monthly programs they want to be enrolled in.

The way this offer is structured, if the customer takes the offer, he or she is agreeing to:

A 3-day trial to the Online Auctions Success Club, after which there is a $39.95/month charge

"A FREE fourteen-day trial and twenty one-day trial to the Identity Theft Protection Center and to Craigslist Income Secrets for just $9.95 and $11.95 a month thereafter (shows as "IDProtect" and "Craigs Course") should you choose not to cancel."

So the three of those combined is a total of $61.85/month

I will give eAuctionAtHome.com credit for putting the terms of the trial right next to the order page and stuctured in such a way that my GUESS would be that most people would read through the full terms – of course I have no PROOF of that, but it seems better than a lot of similar offers I've seen.

Observation #5: "Michael Greene's" domain OnlineAuctionsSuccessSystem.com has never been registered.

The domain OnlineAuctionsSuccessSystem.com is referenced under Michael Greene's name at the end of the first page of the eAuctionAtHome.com sales letter – however, according to whois information that domain has never been registered – nor have the variants OnlineAuctionSuccessSystem.com, Online-AuctionsSuccessSystem.com, or Online-AuctionSuccessSystem.com

If anyone has experience with the eAuctionAtHome system feel free to leave your comments here.

Quick shot review of ModernMomsMakingMoney.com

What is a quick shot review? Quick shot reviews of review sites like ModernMomsMakingMoney.com are designed to teach you how to analyze the review sites more critically.

Observation #1:

ModernMomsMakingMoney states that it has been "seen and trusted on" MSN, AOLChat, YouTube, FaceBook, and MySpace.

But what does that mean? First of all what does "as seen on" mean in this case?

Did someone set up a free blog on MSN LiveSpaces? Anyone could do that and claim to be "seen on MSN". And why are they using the AOLChat Icon instead of the AOL icon.

Again with YouTube anyone can upload a video to YouTube, so beeing "seen" on YouTube doesn't necessarily add to a products credibility.

The above observations apply to FaceBook and MySpace, too.

And all of those sites all companies to BUY advertising on them and thereby be "seen" on the sites. I still don't understand how they were "seen on" AOLChat, unless someone typed a message to someone.

Observation #2: Brazillian-American Jordana Brewster's picture is used for a testimonial on ModernMomsMakingMoney

One thing that grabbed my eye on the ModernMomsMakingMoney.com sales page was the photo of Brazillian-American actress Jordana Brewster being used for the testimonial of "Jennifer":

Does Jordana Brewster really need extra cash?

In case you're not familiar with Jordana Brewster, you can see a video of her here:

Maybe part of the ModernMomsMakingMoney plan is to become a celebrated television and movie actress?

Observation #3:

The sites listed on the sales page like SoftwareJudge and H3.com are really sites where it is possible – although not necessarily easy – to make money, BUT ModernMomsMakingMoney is charging $49.95/month after a 7 day trial which seems incredibly overpriced for the type of information they are providing.

Quick shot review of the ScamFreeOnline.com review site

What is a quick shot review? Quick shot reviews of review sites like ScamFreeOnline.com are designed to teach you how to analyze the review sites more critically.

Observation 1: What types of programs is the site recommending?

If you know that certain types of programs are almost impossible to make money with and you see a site recommending them then you can pretty much conclude that they don't have YOUR best interest in mind.

For example, ScamFreeOnline.com recommends a program called ClassifiedSurveys and anyone who's been even 1/2 way around the block knows that surveys are a terrible way to try to make money. Plus, these days you don't have to pay for survey information as there are plenty of free places around where you can get that information.

Seeing ClassifiedSurveys on their list might have been less of an issue if they hadn't made it their NUMBER THREE recommendation.

Observation 2: Specific knowledge of other programs on the list

There are also programs the ScamFreeOnline.com recommends where WorkAtHomeTruth has pointed out some questionable things going on in the sales process. These include:

SixFigureYearly.com – analyzed here
