I am beginner computer literate returning to the workplace after a long absence looking for a NO FEE work@home .Been scammed out of small fees to me livelihood ,living in shelter situation .Your site / work is a life saver . I hope I can find my small / leitimate work@home soon.

Simple entry of information seems best in my current situation /state of mind –having been overloaded with information and thouroughly jerked around in my efforts . I spend F/T hours in the same , did I mention I am a senior as well .

Please throw some light on my specific situation .

A: Hi,

Thanks for writing. The first thing I would say is make
sure you follow the rules I’ve posted here:
http://www.workathometruth.com/Rules.php

Probably the biggest thing to pay attention to – and this goes for the WorkAtHomeTruth site, too – is we
don’t always have control over what advertising shows up on our site, so don’t assume that something that’s in an advertisement is legitimate.

Now on to the other information that might help you:

Legit data entry work is nearly impossible to get, but I do
have a list of legitimate companies up here:
http://www.workathometruth.com/data-entry-work-from-home.php

Along with an explanation about why it’s so tough.

Telecommuting work (home jobs) are tougher now just as regular jobs are, but we do have a page that includes lists of OTHER sites that provide reliable job leads or lists of companies that hire on a regular basis here:

http://www.workathometruth.com/work-from-home-companies.php

& a list of companies that hire workers for home phone jobs on a regular basis here:

http://www.workathometruth.com/work-at-home-phone-jobs.php

Unfortunately I know that several people who got jobs with some of the companies from those lists were laid off recently.  But they are legitimate lists.

I’d also recommend you check http://www.ratracerebellion.com and http://www.katieshugs.com

Also, if you’re not a member of the http://www.wahm.com forums, I’d highly recommend that as well. They have a telecommuting section there where people are incredibly supportive and share leads with each other and help each other avoid scams.

You should be able to read the PDF with the
Adobe reader available for free here:

Look to the right for the button that says: “Get Adobe Reader”.

DataEntryCapital question and answer…

Q: Can you give some information about DataEntrycapital.com? I am thinking about joining this program. Thank you

A: We have it on our “not recommended list” as it appears to be a program designed to get you to promote the program itself.

Instead, we recommend you try some of the following following links to free job search/leads resources:

http://workathometruth.com/work-at-home-phone-jobs.php
http://www.workathometruth.com/data-entry-work-from-home.php
http://www.workathometruth.com/work-from-home-companies.php
http://www.ratracerebellion.om
http://www.katieshugs.com

There are a couple paid databases that are legit, but you’re fine with the free information if you follow
the rules here:
http://www.workathometruth.com/Rules.php

Unfortunately, there’s no doubt that things are significantly tougher now. I’ve noticed a few people
posting on my blog that they recently were laid off by companies listed on this site due to the economy.

If you’re not a member (free) of http://www.wahm.com or http://www.vanetworking.com (also free) I’d recommend you join both of those to start networking with people.

V.A. (Virtual Assistant) jobs typically require some training, but the http://www.vanetworking.com site will give you a good idea of what that field is all about.

At-HomeProfessions question

Q: Just attended a seminar presented by At-home Professions for a medical transcriptionist course.  What can you tell me about them? Total coat for the course is about $3000. Thanks for your input.

A: In general it doesn’t have as good of a reputation in the medical transcription community as some of the other programs.

You can read more here:

This one of the better medical transcription forums and in general they don’t recommend it. You read a discussion here:

http://forum.mtstars.com/medical_transcription/v/3/8821.html

http://www.mtecinc.com and Andrews are usually considered better.

You can read a discussion here:
http://forum.mtstars.com/medical_transcription/v/3/6879.html

MTec has an open forum here:
http://forum.mtecinc.com/default.aspx

Andrews site is here:
http://www.andrewsschool.com/

It’s also not an the AHDI approved school list.
http://www.ahdionline.org/scriptcontent/mtapproved.cfm

AHDI is the main standards-setting organization (it used to be http://www.aamt.org – but they’ve changed over to the new site.

AHDI provides guidance on choosing an MT school here:
http://www.ahdionline.org/scriptcontent/mtschool.cfm

You’ll see “At-Home Professions” listed on the “Educational
Members” list here:
http://www.ahdionline.org/scriptcontent/edumembers.cfm

BUT as they mention there that doesn’t really mean anything
regarding the quality of the program. It just means that they
paid “membership dues” to be a member of AHDI.

I would definitely recommend you join a few forums first and get a sense
of what other people are saying there.
