J – fake news sites starting with the letter J

You may have seen fake news stories promoting questionable money making products on sites such as The Huffington Post, Slate and other well-known sites. The typical example is a fake news site that sounds alarmingly similar to a real news site and promte some sort of story claiming that you can make some amount of money posting links on Google. While the amounts the sites claim you can make vary, the result is typically the same – you end up taking a trial offer and don’t realize that you will end up getting hit for expensive monthly charges.

If you’ve ever wondered about the sites that claim you can make easy money posting links for Google I suggest your read Michael Brown’s article about the Make Money Posting Links on Google scams here.

Hopefully you won’t get caught getting your credit card charged monthly by some product that these sites promote. And don’t be fooled by sites that claim you are just paying for “shipping” or for a “trial”. Make sure you always, always, always find and READ the terms and conditions to see exactly what potential charges you may incur.
