The BBB has issued a warning about a product called Affiliate Training Academy
The AffiliateTrainingAcademy.com website claims to be “the #1 Online Business Resource Using Google” as well as claiming that “There has never been a more effective method of creating a successful online business than combining your website with the ability to post links and advertise using the number one search engine: Google!”
However, according to the BBB the the company behind the AffiliateTraining.com site has developed a history of complaints concerning their supposed “free trial period” that the BBB states have gone unanswered. most of the complaints about AffiliateTrainingAcademy.com claim that consumers are incurring credit cards charges of $89, despite the company marketing a free trial period and refunds. The BBB goes on to report that many of the complaints state that customers are never get access to the site’s training material.

Update: 11/25/2009
Looks like a lot of people are in the same boat with this Affiliate Training Academy organization. Here are a few tips as to what actions you can take:
#1 of course is to file a dispute with your credit card company. You can usually find out how to file a dispute with your credit card company by looking on the back of your monthly statement. You may want to point them to the BBB report if they ask you if you tried to work things out with the company directly.
There is also good information about how to work with your banks and credit card companies at HelpWithMyBank.gov
#2 is to file a complaint with the BBB using their complaint form here. The BBB may not be able to help you directly in this situation, since it seems that Affiliate Training Academy has been nonresponsive so far, but BBB complaints are sometimes used by the Federal Trade Commission in cases that they bring.
The following two steps won’t get you any direct help, but could help law enforcement should they decide to file charges against the company behind Affiliate Training Academy:
#3 is to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission here.
#4 is to file a complaint with your local Attorneys General office and the Attorneys General office of the state Affiliate Training Academy is operating out of.
You can find a list of Attorneys General’s offices here:
NAAG | The Attorneys General – Information Related to AGs
#5 – Contact your consumer protection office
You can find a list of State, County, and City Government consumer protection offices at the link below:

I signed up for this offer yesterday. I thought is was a purchase for .99 cents. My credit card was charged twice for 1.00 each. I also did not know it was a trial offer, which leads me to believe I am going to have to pay more. I want to call customer service. Can’t get in the websight. They gave me incorrect login. also no terms of service info.
Case Description: Hi. I’m a college teacher who has been led under false pretentions that my total charges would be $2.99. Today I have 4 posted charges for $19.99, and $87.99 plus two other charges which has caused me $140 of overdraft charges. The person Ivan was quite rude with me upon this subject and that is why I’m contacting BBB. This company is a scam and needs to be shut down. I thank you for your time and patience.
I have #’s if anyone wants to get their money back!!! I think they should be reported so everyone knows how they work!!

I’ve also updated the original post with some action steps people can take. Some of them won’t help them directly, but can be of assistance to law enforcement should they decide to pursue a case against the company behind Affiliate Training Academy.
Hey Susan,
You said you have numbers or just the one you have listed?
I have lost 266.91 from my account from these people. I have received nothing in the mail like I was supposed to and ever since I signed up I can not access anything. These people must be stopped now! I would like all names and phone numbers of those who have been scammed. If anyone wants to step forward and stop these crooks by class action PLEASE call me or email me at 309-369-7537 and sctt_ddy@yahoo.com. Also, please call your state office and the FBI. We stop this now.
Master Internet Profits 426 E. Shields Ave. Fresno, Ca. 93704-4633. This is the address of these crooks. I strongly urge everyone who has lost money from these crooks to file as many complaints as you can and follow up on all information regarding this matter.
I purchased this offer for .99 cents, got sick, and was admitted to the hospital. I was released last night, and although I never used their product, I was charged $120.95 by Master Internet Scammers DO not let these people have your credit card number!
It is funny, I am going through the SAME thing with this company and I CHECKED the BBB before I did this and NO complaints, so I tried it out,I got a guy named “Tony” when this all went south. My question is why weren’t there ANY complaints on this company with the BBB? I looked up the number(just put it into the search bar) and all these complaints came up. I have ALL my emails to back this up. Almost $250.00 out of my pocket now!
