Master Internet Profits Warning from BBB

The BBB has issued a warning about Master Internet Profits claiming that Master Internet Profits is charging consumers credit cards despite a pitch of a “free trial period”.

The BBB also cautions that The Fresno-based company behind MasterInternetProfits “has a pattern of unanswered complaints regarding their supposed “free trial period.” and that BBB complaints specifically reflect that credit cards are charged $89, despite the company marketing a free trial period and refunds. Complaints also reflect that customers never get access to the site’s training material.”

Update: 11/25/2009

I just posted this under the Affiliate Training Academy discussion and thought it might be helpful to post it directly in this Master Internet Profits discussion:

Here are a few tips as to what actions you can take:

#1 of course is to file a dispute with your credit card company. You can usually find out how to file a dispute with your credit card company by looking on the back of your monthly statement. You may want to point them to the BBB report if they ask you if you tried to work things out with the company directly.

There is also good information about how to work with your banks and credit card companies at HelpWithMyBank.gov

#2 is to file a complaint with the BBB using their complaint form here.  The BBB may not be able to help you directly in this situation, since it seems that Master Internet Profits has been nonresponsive so far, but BBB complaints are sometimes used by the Federal Trade Commission in cases that they bring.

The following two steps won’t get you any direct help, but could help law enforcement should they decide to file charges against the company behind Master Internet Profits:

#3 is to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission here.

#4 is to file a complaint with your local Attorneys General office and the Attorneys General office of the state Affiliate Training Academy is operating out of.

You can find a list of Attorneys General’s offices here:

NAAG | The Attorneys General – Information Related to AGs

#5 – Contact your consumer protection office

You can find a list of State, County, and City Government consumer protection offices at the link below:

  2. Luana Lee says:

I also was scammed by them. They did 3 unauthorized transactions totaling over $100.00. I actually got through to their customer service department and when I complained the guy laughed at me.

  3. Linda Seever says:

I have called them many times, the phone puts you on hold and then disconnects. There was nothing mentioned about a trial period. And all of this was done under the name of Google, I thought I would be working for them. They just charged my account $90.00 and bounce the account.

  4. Debora Rock says:

Yes this website is a scam. I got through on call, and guy kept telling me the same thing over and over about clicking the box I accept this terms. Oh wait they don’t say they will charge you this much, until the bottom of that list. Remember those that have been scammed to call the number and cancel so you don’t get charged anymore.

  5. Susan Sprague says:

I was just scammed by google also! They trick you into thinking that you only have to pay .99 and then they charge you $100.00! I couldn’t believe it was happening to me. I could never get on their website either! The CD was a bunch of crap too! I wish I saw this on BBB before I gave them my charge card #. What a victim I became that day.. I tried to call them and they directed me to email the company, and they responded with that I clicked on the agreement and I only had 3 days to cancel!!? I didn’t know that!! Why would google do this?? SCAMMERS!!!! I’m trying to get my money back through my bank..

  6. Melissa Bousquet says:

I am dealing with this right now. I recently moved am unemployed and tried the free trial . I got billed over 100.00 my account is in overdraft and I now owe my bank over 300.00. I called and they laughed at me to. They then said they would handle this to my satisfaction but I have not got a response yet.

  7. Susan, it’s not Google. It’s a company using Google’s name without Google’s permission.

I just posted additional information in the original post of some actions you can take.

  8. Marie McGee says:

They also took over 100.00 from me.I was to pay 2.97 after they got my debit card # they went shopping. No wonder they say they are millioniares they still from a stupid person like me!!!! I am so upset i was just trying to make extra money from home. They are even advertising this on TV.

  9. christy says:

they charged me to im gonna change my account and everything

  10. Cathy Baker says:

I was scammed through yourblogprofit.com (same company apparently) I signed up for a 1.99 disk and less than seven days later, $74.99 was taken out of my bank account. When I called and told them how upset I was, they cancelled my “subscription” which I didn’t even know I had subscribed, and would refund. After hundreds of calls, all with different responses and promises to my problem, the phone number was disconnected.

I thought this was legitimate since it was on the evening news as well as Oprah Winfrey. Was I wrong, six months later and I still have nothing for my money. I still need to make extra money but afraid now of doing anything. Does anybody out there know any legetimate at home businesses that I won’t have to pay them to let me work for them?

  11. Terri Foulkes says:

. This company is a mess they stolen money out of my account and I cancelled the first day after they tookn $3.99 out which they said only $1.95
On the cancellation they said we will not charge your account any thing else. Wrong did it 8 days later and now I have to deal with email where they are so screwed up. We will send your money back in a few days then you did not cancell within the 3 days yet they tell you it will be 3 – 5 days to recieve the disc. then they charge you for some other thing and say you did not cancell that. Well I just hired a lawyer to take care of this scam company. And to think they are using google I am going to get in touch with them.

  12. Customer Support says:

Home Job Placement does not operate the way described in these posts. So much so, that it is difficult to confirm that these posts even apply to us because they are not characteristic of how we conduct business. The program works, and we have happy, satisfied customers making money using it. We do not charge or take any monies from anyone that are unauthorized. We back our product with a 90 day refund policy, and we honor it completely. Anyone that decides that the program is not for them is able to get their money back from us. We can be reached by phone at 1-866-261-5415, or support@homejobplacement.org to assist anyone that needs help.

  13. I’m confused. Homejobplacement isn’t mentioned in thisparticular post at all. Why are you even referencing it here? Are you connected to one of the companies listed in the BBB report?

  14. Diana Rico says:

I have been scammed too. They have taken $88.97 3 times so far and $19.99 also 3 times. I had called and canceled back in October, the guy said that by ordering the cd I had agreed to a membership. I never saw that on the website all it said that I had to pay the 1.99 shipping fee and that was it. Still to this day they keep taking funds out of my account. I am so upset why is’t anybody doing something ? All I kinow is that I am letting my local Fox news channel know about this so they can dig up dirt on these guys and also let people know about this so they don’t get scammed to.

  15. Jaime Johns says:

All of these stories is my story , same thing happened to me and my husband and after several emails since there support department that handles the refunds does not have a phone number , what company doesn’t have a phone just email , no response except now they are offering a 6 month free membership for there scam , I don;t want a membership , I WANT MY DAMN MONEY BACK . 16. LYNETTE says:

I too was scamed $118.00 I called a spoke a young man by the name of Isach and he flately refused to refund my money. I asked to speak to his Supv. and he refused. I called back to verify the info I have and give him another chance to refund my money before I filed a complaint with BBB and he again REFUSED!! I feel like these people stolled money from me and should not get away with it. I would never get away with stealing money!!! I am retired and can not afford this and I told him and he could have cared less. I will call again just to let him know I have complained to everyone including Google (which he denied they were affiliated with) I figured Google was a reputable company and would never allow dishonest people from useing there name. Why are they??????? The number I called is 877-743-5304 Thank you

  17. james b crampton says:

SCAM lost over $100.00 would have been charged more it I did not call # on bank statement

    somebody i’m sure is laughing

  18. Ellen Cmar says:

The scam is that there are two websites, not one. The website from the link goes to Google Master Internet Profits which makes no mention of a membership fee or a monthly fee. They get the credit card number.

Master Internet Profits is the second website, which looks very much like the first one, but it states there is a membership fee and a monthly fee for Affiliate Trainer. Master Internet Profits makes the credit card charges with the number they obtained through the guise of sending information for $.99 shipping charges on the first website about getting checks from Google.

They are not a business because they don’t even come up on Google, Yahoo, or bing. What business would not register with those search engines? They are scammers! They get credit card numbers and use them fraudulently!

  19. rochell says:

what I have learned in little time about stay at home jobs. I’m a stay at home mom and I feel like when you go to a job and fill out an applications to see if you meet the requirements, they call you for an interview. In the interview they ask you questions to see if you meet the requirement of the position. when a job hire you, you don’t pay them they pay you. So why would you pay for material for them to train you should they be paying for you to get train. You have to look at stay at home jobs as if you’re applying for a job that is not a stay at home job.

  20. Hello, I’m a business reporter with The Fresno Bee newspaper, where Master Internet Profits is based. I’m looking for anyone who feels they’ve been scammed by the company who lives in our coverage area – Fresno, Madera, Tulare or Kings counties in California.
