Internet Profit Success System Sales Page Review

The claims at the Internet Profit Success System website are highly questionable (to put it politely):

Here’s what the InternetProfitSuccessSystem tells you will happen with their “system”:

  1. Get instant access to Home Income Software
  2. Use simple typing skills to fill out forms online
  3. Watch the cash start rolling in

I filled out the form to see if “I qualified” – although I was a bit leary of doing so because the site uses non-clickable Truste and Verisign seals which completely violates those companies’ terms of service.

I also checked InternetProfitSuccessSystem.com at Verisign’s “Try before you buy” site and got the following message:

Internet Profit Success System Fails Verisign Check

Internet Profit Success System Fails Verisign Check

The terms of the offer seem fairly conspicuous as they are directly next to the order button and state:

“This order includes all of the items above for a $2.97 trial. If you enjoy the trial and want to continue on your path to making real money, you will be billed a one-time fee of $139.95. You may cancel anytime by calling: (877) 863-3088.”

However, the terms of service page includes an additional $4.95/month fee that isn’t mentioned on the order page – and there is not even so much as a checkbox next to a confirmation statement such as “I agree to the terms of service”.

Internet Cash Machine is an online web development tool that makes it easy for you to jump start your online home based business. It effortlessly allows you to activate customizable websites stocked with products in just minutes. When you submit your order, you agree to pay the shipping and handling fee of $2.97 for your Road Map to Success; please allow up to two weeks for delivery. After your 3-day trial period, you will be charged a ONE TIME activation fee of $139.95 that will not be billed again for access to all of the features above. Thereafter, a $4.95 fee will serve as a monthly website hosting and maintenance fee until cancelled.”

Notice that the trial period is only 3-days – another important piece of information that is NOT mentioned on the actual order page.

I also noticed something interesting about the legal forum mentioned in the terms where it states:

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any legal action arising out of this Agreement shall be litigated and enforced under the laws of the United Kingdom. In addition, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom, and that any legal action pursued by you shall be within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom in the United Kingdom.”

I couldn’t find the actual U.K. address for the company behind internetprofitsuccesssystem.com – but I didn’t locate a completely different terms of service on the internetprofitsuccesssystem.com domain that had the following information:

My Online Cash Secrets

Athinodorou 3,
Dasoupoli, Strovolos,
P.C. 2025 Nicosia, Cyprus”

A couple other interesting observations. The following three domains share the same name servers with only a total of 6 domains according to RobTex:

  • InternetRichesGuru.com
  • MyOnlineCashSecrets.com
  • TheInternetProfitHouse.com

You can see the details here in the image below:

Robtex - domains showing nameservers

Robtex - domains showing nameservers

There are 3 other domains listed there that seem to be completely unrelated to the offers discussed here.

By the way, in case you’re wondering…I qualified for instant access to Internet Profit Success system. Big surprise there. ;-)

I also signed up for this and got scammed with the $139.95 extra on my credit card. How to I get them to give that back and take it off my credit card?
I am calling them asap and cancelling and demanding my money back!!!

  2. Paula,

You should file a dispute with your credit card company. The instructions for filing a dispute are typically on the back of your credit card statement.

  3. Liz says:

I have reported to FBI for this company since ICM is a total ripoff. The customer reprentative even would not let me talk to some one else. My credit company said that they can not help since 3 days trial versin is over.
The problem is : the charge would not appears on my credit card days!

  4. Who’s your credit card company Liz?

  5. daryl says:

wow.. thanks alot for this heads-up.. i was about to sign up for this scam… then made me think to google the website 1st before signing up..
    thanks alot for the heads-up..

  6. barbara says:

so i got scammed the 2.97 – didn’t have the 140 in my account – disclaimer said u would be charged after trial. how can it be a trial if they charge you at the same time. so i called them and they hung up on me after i pointed this fact out.

  7. Tina says:

I too would have been a victim of scam for this outrageous income opportunity. I’m glad I researched this because it does seem too good to be true.Besides, it seems fishy when a company states “no expirence necessary”. If looking for a work at home opportunity, why pay? We don’t go to simple places like burger king, the hospital, etc. and pay money up front just to work. Home income profit system is included among the list of fishy, greedy scammers.

  8. Brenda says:

I was burned too, charged my debit card received no info what so ever. 180.00 latter, and trying to cancel on ECSUITE.COM site. I don’t think I’ll be getting money back, my husbands laid off, and I’m in school this was to try and help us out a little bit, make a little cash surprise him with it, ya right . It is a hype to suck people in , know I have to break the news to my husband that I stupidly lost 180 bucks, he won’t be happy but luckily he will understand but… so this not only cost you just in cash, it hits emotionally too. I wish I knew how to blacklist them on every web sites I’ve seen them on. I should have of been as wise as Tina and researched it more. My lesson learned… If its to good to be true than its to good to be true.

  9. brandi h. says:

I was so happy that i found this website because i was about to sign up for this once in a lifetime career opprotunity and then something told me to go to the bbb, and look up this company to see what they’re all about. NOTHING CAME UP….so i went a head and googled it and thats when i found out about this blog…look, even a scammer can put what we think is legit on the dayton daily news online and even other websites that offer assistance for employment help. but again for every1 out there i totally agree u shouldnt have to pay upfront for a job…if that ever happens and your unsure go to http://www.bbb.com and research that company, there is a lot of ppl scamming other BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Roy says:

I signed up for this scam under the Internet Cash Machine and got the same rip-off of 139.95 even though i cancelled within the 3 day time limit as required by their disclaimer. I knew it was a rip-off when I called to get a website activated and the guy started talking about using $5000 to
$ 10,000 to get these sites noticed. My warning to you I from Grand Rapids, Mi and there is no Marie Thompson in this town as i have researched to find her. I filed the dispute with my credit card company with the false cancellation # they gave and blocked any further transaction from this site and I strongly encourage any of you who gave out your card # to do the same, they can block any transaction from these people as I have been told by my card company….

  11. Brian Laskey says:

I was also scammed by this company. The whole setup is designed to scam you out of that $139.95. I even received an invoice for $2.77 for shipping with no mention of the 139.95 charge to my card. Repeated calls to them at 877-863-3088 i was immediately put on hold then disconnected. Finally was able to get a hold of someone and get the “trial membership” cancelled. Also to be mentioned in the fine print which is not on the invoice they claim your credit card will not be charged during this 3 day period. *** DO NOT JOIN OR GIVE CC# INFO TO THIS COMPANY**

    • Bob McDowell says:

I’m not here to pass judgment on anyone, as there are MILLIONS of very intelligent people out there who get duped every day of the week; we’re all looking of that “pie in the sky” and want to make a ton of money…more money in week than most people make in a year, and not have to bust our butts to achieve our financial goals.

What I have to pass along however is nothing you haven’t heard before: “If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is,” and most likely it’s a scam on some level !

  12. Brian Laskey says:

After numerous calls and posting complaints with the better business bureau i finally received my money back but only after they kept it for 5 days. If i had not paid very close attention to my online banking i would have been duped out of my money by this unethical company and their deceptive immoral practices. This was a lesson learned. I will tell anyone who listens how awful this company is and urge everyone with bad experiences to complain with the better business bureau. Here is the link for everyone.

  13. Kim E says:

My fiance pointed out this “news” website and an article in the Finance section http://www.dailynews7.com/jobs/internet-aiding-economy2.php# about working from home. After reading the article and not thinking to triple check the “news” site, I signed up for what I thought was just a $2.97 charge to get started. There was overwhelming information needing to complete, like hosting, etc. which I didn’t have the time for because we were heading out the door. I had to check my online banking statement for something and not only noticed a $2.97 charge but a $139.95 charge as well that I did NOT authorize. The automated email they send out confirming your “membership” states that it’s a 3 day trial. It hadn’t been 30 minutes let alone 3 days. Their phone number 877-863-3088 is not a working number and when you try to email them, there is ANOTHER automated email that states “Please note that NO cancellation requests will be accepted through e-mail. If you would like to cancel your account or for immediate support, please call customer support at (877) 863-3088″. No I can’t even log into the system that I supposedly paid my membership to and when asking for a password retrieval it ALSO says to call that same number that does NOT work. ICM WEBSITES is the culprit and who is charging to the credit cards. There’s a number of other “faces” in the forefront to try and confuse you. I am BEYOND frustrated. BE CAREFUL AND STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SCAM!!!!

  14. Jeff M. says:

Once I was forwarded to the sign up page, a red flag went off. The page was to simple!
I am so glad that I searched the website and found this “Work At Home Truth” article.
Buyer beware. Do your homework and research everything that seems to good to be true. Go with your gut feeling and if you have any reservations, do your research first. You will not be sorry.

  15. jenny p says:

i too was a victim of this scam less than eight hours ago. i am highly upset. i provided my cc info at 2am for the 3 day trial and by 10am they had charged my credit card the $2.97 trial fee and the $139.99 at the same time. needless to say when i called them one number said that they do not accept calls from my area (virgin islands) and the other number said that they only work on weekdays from 7am to 7pm (today is sunday). immediately i called my cc company and changed my account number and made a dispute claim. i hope i get my money back because i am not paying them that money. i should have known better than this. should have done my research. PLEASE BE CAREFUL THIS IS A SCAM.

  16. rebecca b. says:

i would have been scamed to had i not listen to my spirit within was about to give my credit info. when i decided to look up the website again and see would it take me back to that same page and it did but i kept reading and saw the complaints and that it was also taking more that 2.95 out of hard working moms account and i instintly decided not to summit my infor. thanks alot !

  17. Michael C says:

I had the same thought that rebecca b did and I’m so glad I googled a BBB report on these guys. All of you save me a hassle. Thanks!

  18. sandra h says:

I am so angry at myself for falling for this scam!!! They fail to tell you instead of $2.97 being deducted they also take $139 out of your acct also even after you have cancelled within 1/2 hr of applying. Please do not fall for this scam from ICM marketing!!! I am contacting my lawyer

  19. Kate A. says:

Yeah I just signed up in hopes to make some extra cash. After putting in my credit card info for the $2.97 payment, the next page is to set up your site. It includes putting in your personal information and I stopped when I saw they wanted my SS# and the link wasn’t even secured!!! http instead of https. I called them up to cancel, but their hours are 7a-7p. I’ll definitely call them tomorrow morning to cancel. I should have done my research first …

  20. Amber D says:

I signed up for this being told I was going to pay $2.97 for shipping and handeling, the kit I would receive in the mail would be free. I went to my bank account today realizing that I was charged not only the $2.97 but also a charge of $139.95. I called them and they told me that my 3 day free trial period was over but I never received the kit in the mail. I was also never told that they would send me an e-mail with the same information that would be in the kit. How can you have a trial period when you don’t have any of the informaion to start it? It is infuriating me! I was also told when I approved the $2.9 that on my bank statement it would show up as “Internet Income House”, this was not the case it was billed to ICM, Anyone thinking about doing this please don’t! When I called to cancel she kept repeating herself and didn’t want to cancel my service, it took me telling her that I was calling my bank to stop all transactions through that company and my bank account that she finally said ok.

  21. You’re all right – this is a TOTAL rip off – they snatched the 2.97 AND the 139.95 within SECONDS of me signing up! E-mail they send says 3 days – HA – immediatly is more like it. Called the bank since THEY are on my time and cancelled over draft protection so this co. can’t get any money – once it “bounces” I can go to the bank and they will handle the fees etc. since this happened at 6:22 am and I called at 7 when the call center at the bank opened – this RIP OFF web site doesn’t even open until 10 my time – they are in the Pacific time zone – I will be recording the calls with them so hopefully in the long run this will help. I will NEVER sign up for anything like this again! I can only HOPE this will not be an expensive lesson learned – just a “scary” one!

  22. Sherry E. says:

The same thing happened to me. I am so mad. I hate being taken advantage of. I just got off the phone with a representative, that said that I cancelled within the 3 day time frame, even though it is not mentioned anywhere when you first sign up. I just got a bad feeling about this…whenever something seems too good to be true it usuallly is. I am praying that I blocked this in time, but I am going to the bank to make sure no other transactions get added on in a few months time when I let my guard down. They did say they would only refund 139. and that I still had to pay the 2.97 as a handling fee. I said what ever just cancel the order!

  23. Adriana C. says:

I wish I would have done some research before signing up. These SCAM has taken most of my morning by calling the company twice and being placed on hold both times and after canceling the account with them and when they tell you that they need to transfer you to another person to work on giving you a credit for any other charges that may have already been charged, while on hold the call just goes dead. I called my credit card co. and put a dispute on the $2.97 and was credited. I just hope that “ICM WEBSITES” gets the message and they wount charge anything else in the future.

  24. Trish P says:

I’m so glad I found your site. I was in the process of filling out the form to get the information then a nagging little voice inside told me to check it out before I did. Thanks for posting all of this information and keeping a watch out for all of us.

  25. michele says:

I also got scammed for the $139.95! I called them, they hung up on me two times when I asked to speak to a manager

  26. Brett says:

Glad I Googled the info first, I was just about to order it and give it a try!

  27. Kino says:

Thanks guys , i nearly placed an order!. You saved me!. Unfortunate how people can be so ruthlessly dishonest and cheat for gain.

  28. Dot Dot says:

Did you guys mention, that ….Marie Thompson of “YOUR City/Town, YOUR State”…
Well made web page. Takes your location and substitutes the field.
If I could, I’d post contrary-www.page, but it’s time and money consuming.
Hope, more people will google this “profitable” opportunity before pay.

  29. Good observation.

We’ve mentioned that in the past, but not on this one.

  30. jennette says:

Yeah, I feel stupid, and tick right off!!!! I have been trying to do this internetprofitsystem for over a month now! I have not made any money because I was thinking wow, they make it really difficult to make any money because of all the stupid pages you have to do and seperate websites, and advertising! I too got scamed 3 day trial crap! $2.97 and yes, the $140! I called and they said it says it in the terms and conditions page about the $140! Screw that! I wanted my money back and they said I couldn’t have it back! I have had problems loging onto set my items from the sites up on ebay and there was a transfer problem for a week, they said they were cracking down on there compu fix it guy and I actually bought it, it was fishy but yah! It was fixed but for as many hrs that I have spent and the money I have spent on this SCAM, trying to make money when I was never provided enough info to do really anything, I have not made $1 ! and I am severely angry and believe they need to be shut down and go to prison! I never got a kit! I called, they said it was mailed, I waited…..I never got it! I called, and they said they would send it out and I would have to wait another 2weeks! I wanted my money back they said no. I am now going to call and demand my money back or tell them that they better expect a call from my laywer or a police report will be filed, or something will be done to make sure they are revealed and put away for their crimes! What a great way to make money, to target the poor and single mothers! **cking **sholes!

  31. JB says:

My wife wanted the kit to read and review. I thought $2.97 I’m sure it’s a scam, but at that price what have I got to lose? The answer $142.92! They don’t tell you it is the Internet Cash Stealing Machine. I wish I would have done a little research frist. ICM never did mail the kit if they do it goes right in the trash where it belongs.

  32. Kevin Stafford says:

Thank you Paul for this site. It saved me $142.92 and from all the aggravation the above posts describe.

  33. kathy jones says:

i was a sucker need to cancel now

  34. Jemma says:

Thanks, everyone. My gut told me this was wrong and you all confimred it. Was lucky enough not to fill out anything. And…yes the VeriSign and Truste logos do make you think it is legit. NOT!

  35. joann robinson says:

i am so glad I researched this first, my checking account could not have taken a hit like this. Thanks so much for providing this information to me. I should know better, it seems there is no legitimate work at home program out there, just people looking for ways to take advantage of people looking for ways to improve their life. thanks again

  36. M. Lopez says:

Thanks so much for all the comments. I almost got suckered into this scam. I was about to join, when I just had that feeling, not too! I then went to the CNN website and read the article & comments! Wow, so glad I didn’t do it. Another catch that also caught my eye was the woman advertising is from Seal Beach,CA. which is exactly where I’m from. Ha almost scammed me, but didn’t work…..PLEASE DON’T GET SCAMMED!!!!

  37. Fonzie says:

I still have open the page and about to sign, when I did a quick search and found this info. Thank you guys!!! I wont be scam!!

  38. BETTY says:

I WAS ALSO SCAMMED BY ICM WEBSITES. I PAID THE INITIAL 2.97 FEE TO LEARN MORE INFORMATION THEN DECIDED I WASN’T INTERESTED. THEY CALLED THE NEXT DAY TO SEE IF WAS STILL INTERESTED AND WAS POLITELY TOLD “NO”. THEY CALLED AGAIN WITH MORE PRESSURE SELLS AND MET WITH THE SAME RESPONSE. AFTER RECEIVING YET ANOTHER CALL WANTING TO KNOW WHY I WAS NOT INTERESTED I LOST MY PATIENCE AND ASK THEM NOT TO CALL BACK. WHEN I GOT MY JUNE BANK STATEMENT I SAW WHERE THEY HAD TAKEN 149.95 FROM MY ACCOUNT ON JUNE 1ST AND ANOTHER 149.95 ON THE 17TH!!! I CONTACTED MY BANK WHO INSTRUCTED ME TO FILE A DISPUTE.

  39. BETTY says:

I NEED TO MENTIONED THAT MY BANK HAD MY THAT DEBIT CARD CANCELLED THEY ALSO CREDITED MY ACCOUNT FOR THOSE CHARGES SINCE FILING THE DISPUTE. I LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON. NEVER TRUST ANYONE WITH YOUR BANK INFORMATION IF YOU DON’T KNOW THEM, AND ALWAYS DO THE RESEARCH FIRST!!!

  40. leila says:

im so lucky, i use the gift card so they cannot charge me $140^^

  41. Connie Gay says:

I feel stupid for getting scammed. I have been out of work sick a couple of times this fall season and wanted a chance to make some extra money to make up for what I was missing by being out of work. I really wished I had thought to check out this site. I got taken for the 2.97 and the 130? dollars. When I told my husband that I had signed up for this opportunity he said “I hope this is not some scam to get your credit card info.” funny huh. That is just what happened and he found out when he checked our checking account info this morning once he got to work. It made my account overdrawn and that is not good. I need to know how to get my money back since I’m not rich and don’t have that kind of money to spare. Please help me if you can. The only reason I was such a sucker was that I had received the e-mail offer several times and thought I would give it a try. Thanks, Connie Gay

    • Connie,

I don’t think you should feel stupid. These people go to great lengths to design their sales pages to trick people.

If it was through a debit card, you would need to work with your bank directly. There’s information at http://helpwithmybank.gov/ that you might find helpful.

Ideally in the future, though, if you are unsure about making a purchase online, you should either use a credit card (its MUCH easier to file a dispute and win) or buy a temporary debit card.

With a credit card, you’ll usually find the dispute procedures on the back of your statement.

And if you have questions about any sort of home business or bizop and aren’t sure about, you can contact me to check it out for you first.

  42. Tru says:

Holy Crap, thank you all for the heads up. I was so desperate that I was about to shovel out the money to check this system out and try. With a wife and child to support and no job, I think it best not to join. Because I would be taking it out of our food money with the hopes of seeing immediate cash. I dont see one positive review here and I don’t need to make my family go hungry. Thanks you all for preventing me from making a mistake and I thank God I read everything before jumping in

  43. Robert Shokoff says:

Its a terrible world we live in, when a person goes through life, literally stealing money from
their fellow man. These people should be forced to fight on the front lines without ammo. I do not wish them, “well health”. I trusted them and ” signed up”, paid $ 139.99 ($ 142.91 US) and notified PayPal to cancel my order the same day. PayPal said they would, but Visa billed me, $ 142.91 a month later. When I finally tracked down Profit Success Kits phone number and talked to Matt, his
answer was just, “too bad, so sad, nothing he could do”. Three months later, I’m still being charged,
$ 10.33 on my visa bill. each month. Its really a ” crime” when human beings have to go to another country and die, for our “freedom”, and our government allows “crime” like this business to operate.
The only reason the government won’t close them down, is they make money from them, with taxes.
Lifes lessons can be rough, but eventually I learn, as I did in this case. I feel the pain, for all the individuals, that still have to learn, that ” Profit Success Kit ” is born from BLACK & EVIL!!!!! WARN YOUR FRIENDS & RECCOMEND THEM TO YOUR ENEMIES…

  44. Diane says:

    Hi Paul,
I researched this opportunity, and was very skeptical of it. Therefore, I didn’t sign up and after reading comments from others, I’m sure glad I didn’t fall for this scam. I just don’t know how these scammers can sleep at night knowing they’re ripping off people that are desperately trying to find an opportunity to feed their families.
I’ve learned to search through every bit of information I can find before trying anything out. I have found two legitimate opportunities one that is zero dollars to join. Even so, I’m still hestitating in fear of everything I’ve read here and on other review sites about all the scams out there. The two that I’m checking on, I’ve checked and everything I’ve read says they are legit. Neither opportunity claims you’ll be rich in 6 months. I’m not looking to get rich over night, but looking for an opportunity to make a decent income online. If you have any legitmate opportunities that you know of that don’t cost an arm and a leg to get into, please share.
