183+ Websites To Avoid

I first started warning about many of these websites as far back as January of 2009 and many of these sites now have the following message:

“”Product Name” has been happy to service our clients and help them to succeed online. We are no longer accepting new clients at this time, however we will continue to provide services for our existing clients as stated in our terms.”

Here are a few of the warnings about many of these sites that WorkAtHomeTruth has posted over the past year and a half:

November 18, 2009: Weekly-Consumer-Newsletter and HomeJobPlacement.org warning

Red flags included:

  • Making a business opportunity look like a job
  • Had a fake prequalification system (I put in the zip code “99999″ and other bogus details and I still qualified for their “positions”.
  • A similar site called WorkAtHomePositionPlacement is likely owned by the same company or a closely related company and claims to have been seen on NBC, USAToday, CNN, and ABC – WorkAtHomePositionPlacement also includes a video clip of a real NBC news report about working at home which makes it seem as if the video is about WorkAtHomePositionPlacement – it’s only when you scroll WAY down to the bottom of the page that you find their disclaimer (which is greyed out) that states:
    • “Work At Home Position Placement is not affiliated with, endorsed by or in any way associated with Apple, Coleman, Adidas, Compaq, The New York Times, Esquire, America Online, CNN, USA Today, Forbes, Yahoo. Work At Home Position Placement does not have the express permission of Apple, Coleman, Adidas, Compaq, The New York Times, Esquire, America Online, CNN, USA Today, Forbes, or Yahoo logo”

Note: The website WorkAtHomePositionPlacement.com is essentially the same set up as HomeJobPlacement.org

January 12, 2009: Warning about Automated Wealth System

Red flags included:

  • Stock photos were used for testimonial images. Note: nowadays you will see many sites claiming that “Stock Photos” and fake testimonial names are used to protect the testimonial givers privacy. While this may be true at times, the use of stock photos and fake names should still be construed as a red flag to be combined with other red flags when doing your due diligence.
  • At least one other site related to the Automated Wealth System there were reports of people trying to cancel and then getting asked what “they’re credit card limits are” (which is PROBABLY related to a questionable sales practice for trying to sell people additional information based on how much money they still have available – although salespeople who are SLICK at doing that can get that out of you without you ever knowing it’s going on).

November 5, 2008: Warning about UnderGround Cash Secret

Red flags included:

  • The product creator’s photo was a stock photo.
  • Numerous complaints about not receiving access to the product
  • Numerous complaints about aggressive telemarketing practices

October 8, 2008: MakeMoneyTakingSurveys.org warning

Red flags included:

  • Potentially fake testimonials (I found the exact same testimonials used on sites for other products – and the same testimonials used different names and photos)
  • Unrealistic income claims which based on a misrepresentation of how the market research industry works (the site assumes you will qualify for every survey you apply for which isn’t true at all)
  • Promise of easy income with no work

In the following list you’ll find many variations of the above sites that WorkAtHomeTruth has already put out warnings about:

Paid Research Program sales page review

Here’s a quick review of the Paid Research Program sales page and some things  you might want want to consider when debating whether you want to invest in the program sold at PaidResearchProgram.com

Note, I’ve updated this based on Ahkmid’s comment. Even though Ahkmid didn’t even READ what I posted, this should really be in a “proceed with caution” category instead of “not recommended”.

Here’s why:

First of all, the photo used with the testimonial for Mike Peterson is part of the Getty Images photo collection:

Mike At Getty Images

Mike At Getty Images

Second, the statement that PaidResearchProgram was seen on Google, Yahoo, YouTube, MSN, and Twitter is completely meaningless. For example, even this CAT has been seen on many if not ALL of those places:

PaidResearchPaper.com says it was “Voted #1 Legitimate Opportunity For Earning An Income From Home”.

Who voted for it? Mickey Mouse and Pluto? Donald Duck and Tom and Jerry?

And who exactly is buying these research papers?

I highly recommend you read this information about “The Term Paper Artist – The Lucrative Industry Behind Higher Ed’s Failings” which includes some no-holds barred statements like the following:

“The term paper biz is managed by brokers who take financial risks by accepting credit card payments and psychological risks by actually talking to the clients. Most of the customers just aren’t very bright. One of my brokers would even mark assignments with the code words DUMB CLIENT.”

WorkFromHomeNews6.com Sales Page Review

You might not know that WorkFromHomeNews6.com is a sales page since WorkFromHomeNews6.com doesn’t SAY it’s a sales page or advertisement anywhere at all – at least not on it’s page with the URL “workfromhomenews6.com/online6ng.html”.

Now, some of the other pages on the site disclose up front that they are advertorials.

AmericanJobs2 promotes something called WebProfitsClub although the link it uses on the page says Google Home Income and the page itself shows a story about a woman named Michelle Richardson and claims it’s story was seen on ABC, CNBC, CBS, CNN, USA Today, and Forbes. It also promotes the SMC program listed at the SMCBigprofits.com website.

Note, the fact that the AmericanJobs2 site promotes WebProfitsClub and SMC doesn’t necessarily mean anything about those programs.
