My Real Income review of Red Flags

My Real Income review Update – 11/16/2011

I spent last night recording the entire sales process for another version of My Real Income. I still have numerous issues with the sales copy. However, the version of My Real Income I reviewed had an order page with monthly charges of $77 clearly disclosed.

My Real Income CCBill Order Page

My Real Income’s Refund Policy:

I also took a look at My Real Income’s Refund Policy which was linked to at the bottom of the sales pages. The My Real Income Refund Policy states that the initial trial fee is non-refundable. And also states:

“If you wish to claim a refund for the $77.00 monthly re-bill charge, then you must have completed the below steps:

  • Used the My Real Income program correctly for a minimum of 14 days
  • You must upload a website using the instructions contained within the My Real
  • Income programme and provide the My Real
  • Income Customer Support team with a valid URL.
  • Contacted Customer Support via [email protected] for help and advice
  • Follow the advice provided to you by Customer Support.”

There are still plenty of sales tactics that the new My Real Income uses that I have issues with. Here are some of them.

My Real Income Issue #1) “As Seen On” Claim

My Real Income uses the following “As Seen On” image on the second page of with no explanation:

My Real Income

My Real Income "As Seen On"?

The only thing I can see that possibly references the asterisk used there is a statement at the bottom of the 2nd sales page which says:

“My Real Income is not associated with CNN, People and TIME” (People and TIME) aren’t even mentioned on the second page of the My Real Income sales process.

My Real Income Issue #2) Security Seals That Don’t lead to The Proper Verification Service

My Real Income uses the following 2 security seals:

  • Verisign Secured
  • McAfee Secure

However, when I clicked on them they led me to the CCBill Order Page. I checked to see if CCBill was secured by Verisign and/or McAfee. Here’s what I found:

What follows is the original My Real Income Review

When doing this My Real Income review of potential red flags with the program one thing jumped out immediately. The hidden terms of My Real Income’s “Risk-Free Guarantee”.

Here’s what MyRealIncome.com says on their main sales page:

“You are completely protected by my unique, risk-free money-back guarantee. Give the My Real Income program honest try, and if you are not satisfied for any reason you can request a full refund at any time. Can’t say fairer than that!”

However, if you dig way down to the bottom of the My Real Income page and click their “Refund Policy” link, you’ll find this:

“Before requesting a refund the following conditions need to be met: Used the My Real Income program correctly for a minimum of 14 days

  • You must upload a website using the instructions contained within the My Real Income programme and provide the My Real Income Customer Support team with a valid URL.
  • Contacted Customer Support via [email protected] for help and advice
  • Follow the advice given by Customer Support
  • You are asking for a refund within 4 weeks (30 days).

This is what’s known as a “conditional refund” and I suggest you AVOID any product that makes their refund conditional. Why? Because there is too much room for interpretation as to what you have or haven’t done. In fact, this sort of refund is typically used as a way to deny refunds to people.

Here are more red flags you might want to consider when reading through the My Real Income sales page:

Red Flag #1) MyRealIncome claims that Robert Nielson is one of the internet’s “top home job consultants”.

I have two problems with that claim:

  • Everything on the sales page has to do with running a business – and nothing to do with a home “job”.
  • How exactly is “Robert Nielson” one of the internet’s “top home job consultants”. Just posting it on a website doesn’t make it so. as a matter of fact, that claim has been used with NUMEROUS questionable home business products.

Red Flag #2) My Real Income states “As Seen On” the following websites:

  • Google
  • Yahoo
  • USAToday
  • MSN
  • twitter
  • YouTube
  • facebook

Those are sites that ANYBODY can “be seen on” either through advertising on those sites or opening up a free user acount. The My Real Income “As Seen On” claim is completely meaningless.

Red Flag #3) My Real Income states that one of its bonuses is “Personal 1 On 1 Coaching!”.

Here’s the problem. More often than not, these “free” consultations are used to try to hard-sell you expensive products and services that either you don’t need or at worst are completely worthless.

Red Flag #4) Security Seals that don’t lead to the site they claim to.

MyRealIncome.com is using security seals allegedly from “Web Guard”, but when you click on them they go to the payment processor “CCBill”, but there are no Web Guard security certificates on that order page either.

Red Flag #5) Use of the payment processor CCBill

According to Wikipedia and CCBill is a payment processor which primarily services the adult entertainment (porn) industry and other “high risk” markets. This should really send of some big alarm bells.

  1. Gregory Crapanzano says:

My e-mail address has been SPAMMED by My Real Income.com, or one of their associates, either way, someone is soliciting my entire address book with this alleged opportunity. I have not tried it, nor would I try any business that resprts to SPAM to get the message out. I did send an e-mail to everyone on my contact list that the advertisement is SPAM and that I do not recommend or endorse the product or the company. When will SPAMMERS get the message that they are pirates and their secret is out.

  2. I agreed to pay the £4.95, to access further info, and realised that this is borderline legal in the UK and decided against going further. OK so I lost £4.95 However ccbilling then took £77.00 from my account, using the ebit details from the first payment. I am currently on Social Security and Disability. This means that I would not and could not afford to sign up to a Scheme that costs £77.00 a month. This is more than a Full Weeks Income. 1/4 of my monthly income. The money they “Stole” from my account was for my Direct Debits, due this week, before my next payment of “Social” was due. This in turn would cause Bank Charges, so I had to cancel my D/Ds but will now have to pay by cash, which creates more admin charges. My Bank say that they cannot stop anyone claiming money from my account if they have the Debit Card Codes. So I also will have to close my account and suffer further charges, because I can’t be sure that CCBank (Thieves) will not continue to STEAL money from my account. They need to be stopped!

  3. Andy(continued), they have not replied to any of my e-mails, either to myrealetc or ccbill. Also I can not access the log on site, to use, my unused “username” to post complaints in the “Members Room” or whatever it’s called. I paid £4.95, they sent me a username(VIP), but I had already read enough to worry me. Therefore, I have never logged on. Now I don’t know how to. I am furious!

  4. Yeah. The price is now 49.95 to get involved. Fyi

  5. Stuart Calladine says:

    Hello,

My name is Stuart and I work for My Real Income customer support.

First off I can advise that the spam emails are from a fraudulent affiliate who has now been handed a lifetime ban from promoting our products online.

Please accept my sincerest apologies regarding this matter.

If anybody requires a refund/cancellation you should send an email to [email protected] with your name, email address and order ID.

It does state VERY clearly on the billing page if the product you have purchased has a subscription. The payment processor for this product is CCBill who are an extremely reputable company. They actually INSIST on making re-bills CLEARLY visible on the sign-up page so you can see the terms.

We also would NEVER condone hidden charges and this is why we clearly state if it is a re-bill or not on the sign-up page.

We actually have thousands of customers and have very few complaints with regards to anything like this.

As mentioned earlier, if you require a refund, cancellation or just have a general question, please email us at [email protected]

    Kind regards.

  6. Actually, STUART CALLADINE, your site is FULL OF SHIT and i have sent 3 emails to [email protected] with my username and id number as told, a day, since last monday AND STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANYTHING BACK. there is no PHONE NUMBER, and none of you pathetic money stealing assholes even get back to them. BECAUSE THIS IS A SCAM. As a matter of fact, I went to the store yesterday and got denied and had no idea why. Then i remembered! MYREALINCOMEDOTCOME-SCAM NEVER ANSWERED MY EMAILS THAT WERE OF ME BEGGING THEM TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES AFTER I GAVE MY CARD NUMBER, EVERY SINGLE DAY. STILL NO ANSWER.

I WENT TO DEPOSIT A CHECK AT MY BANK AND MY ACCOUNT FREEZED WITH $-77.00. NEGATIVE SEVENTY SEVEN. I DOCUMENTED AND SAVED ALL INFORMATION/TIMES EVER SINCE I MADE THE PURCHASE RIGHT DOWN TO ALL THE ID NUMBERS AND EMAILS I SENT OUT.

TODAY I GOTO THE BANK TO F*CKING PAY THIS SHIT AND CANCEL MY CARD. ANDREW NIELSON IS A CONARTIST PIECE OF SH*T AND MYREALINCOME IS FAKE AS ARE THE PEOPLE WHO SEARCH THE INTERNET BLOGS REPLYING TO THE COMMENTS SAYING THEY ARE SUCCESSFUL AND REAL… YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL IN STEALING MONEY. PATHETIC. FUCKING PATHETIC.

$4.95 FOR 5 DAY TRIAL AND THE THEY INSTANTLY BILLED ME $77.00 ON THE 6TH DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS FUCKING RETARDED. ATLEAST WAIT 30 DAYS AFTER THE “FREE SUBSCRIPTION, DOESN’T EVEN MAKE FUCKING SENSE. NOW WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE BILLING PROCCESS, STUART CALLADINE, YOU PIECE OF SHIT?????????????

If you’re reading this and terrified of getting charged the 77.00 in a few days you’re in luck!!! I looked for a few hours on how to cancel my membership with no results. I was about to get a new credit card when i found this number in fine print on the original signup page.
This info is nowhere to be found ANYWHERE else. You can find it if you go back to the original sign up page. In tiny white writing at the very bottom of the website it has this exact information. I’ll attach the information here and you can cancel the membership by just calling this number!!!! Thank god for persistence!

    Sincerely,
Poor College Student On A MISSION!

  9. Spamming here too and Softlayer openly covering for them instead of actually doing any abuse against them, this should be reported to BBB and FTC

  10. Tim Snyder says:

In reading the above posts, I see that I am not the only person to get caught in this web. They have hacked into my email accounts and I am now getting all kinds of email bullshit about other opportunities. It took me a while to figure them out but I think I’m ahead of them now. They got me for $231 (3x$77). I too tried to cancel the very next day in my trial period. Never could and they have never answered an email from me. This is bullshit and I’m getting on every web site I can to blow the whistle on these pieces of shit.

  11. Montego -bay Jamaica just now thay got me for the 4.95 , on 5dys trial
