Google Pro Kit Complaints
I've been helping people who were sold into getting the Google Pro Kit by OTHER sites. Imporant: WorkAtHomeTruth has NEVER recommended the Google Pro Kit by Michelle Valdez and NEVER will.
If you already bought Michelle Valdez' Google Pro Kit, click here for our write-up of the Google Pro Kit and why we do NOT recommend it.
We've also seen a new twist to the fake websites we posted in the comments of the discussion called BradsMoney – Where's that Government Check. Now it seems some of these fake websites with fake photos and fake stories are making quite dubious claims that the Google Pro Kit is recommended by Oprah and has appeared on CBS News.
After you read it you'll begin to realize how many checks you see promoting "Google Kit" type offers are fake and how many photos of those happy-go-lucky people are STOLEN. It's pretty stunning.
The other type of program that has been promoted aggressively through these sites are programs claiming that they can help you to get government grants.
Of particular interest is what's called the "Prenotification Negative Option Rule":
"The Federal Trade Commission enforces the Prenotification Negative Option Rule. The Rule requires companies to give you information about their plans, clearly and conspicuously, in any promotional materials that consumers can use to enroll. If the sales presentation for a plan is made orally, say on the phone, the terms and conditions still must be disclosed clearly and conspicuously during the presentation. For example, companies must tell you:
- whether there's a minimum purchase obligation;
- how and when you can cancel your membership;
- how many announcements and rejection forms you'll receive each year, and how often you'll receive them;
- how to reject merchandise;
- the deadline for returning the rejection form to avoid shipment of the merchandise; and
- whether billing charges include postage and handling."

I ordered a google pro kit which never arrived but I found myself suddenly "subscribed" to a number of things and charges appearing on my card. I was able to stop them. Is there no legal recourse against any of this.

By all means stay clear of Google Pro, Google Money Tree, Google Treasure Chest. They are all a scam and they totally are silver tongued sales people, but oh, so nice. These "come-on Google materials" are leads for Infusion Media…the sales floor feeding all their deceptive clients into Thrive Learning Institute. I received a phone call from the Google Pro Kit representative on the evening of the day I went online to order the free trial Google Pro Kit.
I know from first hand experience…they sold me on a working at home Internet Education Package and Marketing and Coaching Package. Don't die when I tell you the amount…$6725.00. I still don't know why I fell for it. I am a very level-headed, think through everything kind of person. I guess it sounded so good because they were going to help me all the way. That's really what I needed because I really don't know a whole lot about the internet. So I was a "ripe" unsuspecting soul ready to be devoured by the vipers.
I knew I was duped within the first 3 weeks. They will not issue a refund and my credit card, Citi Card, Mastercard Card Services sided with them because "they are willing to provide the services. Even though Thrive Learning/Infusion Media didn't provide what they had promised to do in the first place. They broke the contract and now Citi Card is letting them try again? I have asked Citi Card 3 times now to send me a form to report a fraud and they still haven't sent me one. I wonder why not?

I was one of the call center representatives of google pro before. At first,I thought it would be nice being in a company that provides great stuffs to people.. However, after several weeks,I found out that it is indeed a scam. I posted this comment to make an apology to those whom I had convinced to join in this scam. Just dont let yourself get hooked with those sweet voices that you may hear on your phone….god bless

I received the Google Money Pro disk as a mystery in the mail. I had not ordered it, had never heard of it, wasn't sure what it was. I carried it around in my backpack for 6 months until I got around to popping it into a university computer (wasn't going to put an unknown disk into my home computer). It did not have a user friendly menu, and then when I clicked on a file at random in the ebooks section, the antivirus went crazy and blocked 3 trojans! I have no idea how these people got my name and address, but I am now going to look back through my credit accounts for any mystery charges. I know they didn't hit a checking account, I would have noticed that straight away, but I need to double check my credit cards now.

I would definitely double check your credit card statements.

Thanks you all for posting this info. My husband & I almost signed up for the google work at home today. I decided to "google" the business before starting it and found this. I definatly will not be signing up with them! Thank you!

I was considering to sign up; $3.99 isnt too expensive. However, I always check the URL carefully before I decide. Compare the URL with those that truly belongs to goole, such as adsense:-
https://www.googleprofusion.com – It is NOT GOOGLE.COM
It is GOOGLEPROFUSION.COM . If it is truly from Google, the the URL would have been google.com/XXXX . Eg, take a look at Adsense, which is https://www.google.com/adsense
I was quite suspicious about it after seeing the URL and decided to do some research and that's how I arrived at this page! Phhewww…lucky me!

I signed up and they took the 1.94 out of my account. I know more money will be taken and of course I didn't get the kit. How can I cancel this before I have anymore money taken from my account?

April,
I suggest you read the information at HelpWithMyBank.gov

GK I just saw your post about GoogleProfusion which seems to be sold by the same company that sells TwitterProfusion and has a site called ProfitProfusion.
Something that the FTC highlighted in recent negative option lawsuits had to do with companies writing out the monthly charges after a trial period in words instead of also including them numerically.
GoogleProfusion.com and TwitterProfusion.com both do that as of today.

To Mr. August 21, 2009 Anonymous @9:46AM:
Calling people stupid does not hide the fact that you can't write in freeking English!!! Perhaps if you could muster enough brainpower to form a readable paragraph your opinons would be taken seriously.
Many intelligent and well-meaning people fall for Internet scams. It preys upon those who need work, who are seeking quick profits, the elderly, and those who are just uninformed.

hey,
I was almost a victim of this work at home google business. However I received a free taster and watched it thoroughly. From what I can make out they just show you how to do what they have done to you but to someone else. So it is pretty much like a vicious cycle. I also noticed the man on the videos kept on talking about trial offers and follow up monthly charges, which is how you make your money. So I had a closer look at the website I got it all from and yes it did say a free trial just pay 3.99 or however much but further down it mentioned that monthly bills will commence 7 days later at 83 pounds a month. Well as soon as I was aware I was sure that I would not do it. I hesitated when I saw that I would be doing the same to others then when I knew I was going to have to pay so much I was sure. Lets face it as many people have pointed out if it is so great why wouldnt everyone be doing it. Also if it wasnt a scam then why would you have to pay if google was going to pay you so well, why couldnt they just reduce your pay out by a couple of hundred a month. If you can make 900 or more a month then instead of you paying them they should have just reduced your monthly profit or pay.

I don't understand how Google can allow themselves to be involved in a scam of this magnitude? Furthermore, isn't there a LEGITIMATE way to make some money at home? I'm not saying to be wealthy, I just want some extra dough to pay off bills with.

I'm so upset with myself, because I fell for this scam. My credit card was showing charges I never authorized, so I called my Bank and they pulled the phone number, so I called and it was a disconnected! I cancelled my CC and was able to stop all charges," thank god"! Don't fall for this
