Automated Profit Package sales page review

The Automated Profit Package sales page has the look and feel of a lot of other questionable sites that WorkAtHomeTruth has reviewed in the past. But while that may be a clue that Automated Profit Package might be worth avoiding I try to look for other potential red flags before making a final decision.

Update: AutomatedProfitPackage.com Now Redirects To The Following Two Sites:

Update 5/31/2011: There is a new site called Home Wealth Solution which looks VERY similar to those sites.

9/3/2011 Update – The NEWEST version can be found here: Online Income Solution review.

The first page of the Automated Profit Package site presents another BIG RED FLAG right off the bat. It is using a “TRUSTe” privacy certificate – but the certificate on the AutomatedProfitPackage.com website is NOT clickable.

Not only that, but for some strange reason AutomatedProfitPackage displays the following URL on the first page:

NOT secure URL at AutomatedProfitPackage.com

NOT secure URL at AutomatedProfitPackage.com

The AutomatedProfitPackage.com page puts the word “secure” in the URL even though the page is NOT secure. A secure page will always have https:// at the beginning of it’s URL like the following:

Google secure earch

Google secure earch

Automated Profit Package uses questionable testimonial photos

Right now AutomatedProfitPackage shows 3 testimonials. Each photo can be found on iStockPhoto:

  • Click here to see the stock photo AutomatedProfitPackage.com uses for “James W.”
  • Click here to see the stock photo AutomatedProfitPackage.com uses for “Albert B.”
  • Click here to see the stock photo AutomatedProfitPackage.com uses for “Isabel G.”

What sites like Automated Profit Package often do once their stock photos are exposed

Once a site like AutomatedProfitPackage has their stock photos exposed they often start using a disclaimer which says something like the following:

“For purpose of privacy, testimonial pictures have been adapted and are not their actual photos.”

Automated Profit Package makes a questionable “As Seen On” claim using an image like this:

Automated Profit Package "As Seen On"?

Automated Profit Package "As Seen On"?

Now, I suppose Automated Profit Package may have “been seen on” these sites if it BOUGHT advertising on them. If so, then it should make the claim “As Advertised On” – not “As Seen On” CNBC, USA Today, abc, Twitter, CNN, and AOL.

Bizarrely, AutomatedProfitPackage.com put’s an asterisk next to “AS SEEN ON” but there is nothing that the asterisk references.

Actually the site also puts an asterisk by $379 and never references that asterisk either. I guess someone was just asterisk-happy that day.

Automated Profit Package claims that it was “Voted #1″ by Entrepreneur Magazine

I’m going to go out on a limb here and propose that Automated Profit Package probably was NEVER “Voted #1″ by Entrepreneur Magazine or any other respectable business magazine for that matter – although AutomatedProfitPackage.com actually doesn’t say WHAT it claims to be voted #1 for – so I suppose if it was “Voted #1″ product to AVOID maybe it could be true.

Potential relationship between AutomatedProfitPackage and the Top-10-WorkFromHome.com “review site”

Of possible interest is the fact that Top-10-WorkFromHome.com recommends AutomatedProfitPackage as it’s “#1″ pick AND both AutomatedProfitPackage and Top-10-WorkFromHome.com are hosted on the same IP with only 3 other sites as you can see below:

Reverse IP Automated Traffic Package

Reverse IP Automated Traffic Package

Why is that important? Because often when there are a limited number of websites on the same IP address, it can be an indicator that the websites are owned by the same company or person.

Automated profit package is a well come development for people like me to have something to do so that the can work and earn their leaving. Thanks

    • Philip,

I find it odd that you want to get involved in something that other people apparently can’t get AWAY from fast enough and are COMPLAINING about. You do realize this whole page is warning you to AVOID Automated Profit Package, right?

      • dima says:

hehe, seems like no one gets the idea of this page!!! people read things the way they want.
i just wanted to know what exactly is the job you are going to do at autoprofitpackage, and they dont give any discription!!! so i think there is not a real job in this whole process.
they wont give this amount of money unless they are making the double or triple out of this thing…

        • :-)

Glad to here someone gets it (you).

          • hoda says:

Well ,i really don’t know what to say i’m really embarrassed to say i was fooled evn though there was a voice in the back of my mind told me all of what you guys wrote about the spelling and the grammar and no number and no specifications for what the job is. I still wanted to believe it was all true .I did pay the 20$ fee which only proves the scam ,cause when you work you’re supposed to get paid not pay in addition they are still sending me emails to even pay more for getting the money making software
Well i was fooled and hope no one gets fooled like me ,i’m trying to get my refund from clickbank thanks paul for confirming my suspisions

          • Hoda,

One thing about your comment. Paying for business training is OK – but NOT in this case obviously.

What you’re thinking about is “never pay for a job” which means never pay an EMPLOYER.

        • Dirk says:

Glad you said there is no job description, saves me a lot of research ;)
I don’t trust any job where you can earn a lot of money but nobody tells you what to do, you might as well have agreed to kill someone :P

  4. Sorbis says:

Just FYI I did a search on Entreperneur.com for this automatedprofitpackage.com and no matches found was the results. Take this for what it is worth. One more thing is this page does not convience you then just read the fine print on their website.

  5. Wilfred says:

Agree that the “automatic profit package” website is a fraud and is just one of the many phishing websites in the net.

Finally! Someone who uses brains. I admit, the gleam of Aut. Prof. Pack. got me thinking for a few minutes.

    Love the article.

My thoughts about “Philip Nuhu” commenting here: it’s a bot, not a real person. I ran a blog once and received 10+ similar messages from various bots per day. Their purpose was to look real and to promote their website – hold your mouse over “philip nuhu”. Perhaps it’s a person – the author of the system – and he only “succeeded” to enter his website address correctly with his second attempt, that would explain the 2 nonsene posts.

  10. Rogy says:

Because my family needs, I was unfortunately to fast misleaded to Automated Profit Package. Yes, and I have already spent $150.

This scam promoting article is hilarious. I also tried posting a comment there and surprise surprise, it’s waiting approval. All other comments were pretty much praising the program and were posted on the same goddamn day all within 3 hours.
Although I must admit, it had me fooled for a few minutes.

Here’s what I tried to post on the article:
“If you’re a sane person like me, you won’t buy into this, at least, not as easily as the ones commenting before me. Although, I’m starting to think they’re just part of the scam.
First of all, is this news? Or purposely promoting automated profit package? It talks about how “wonderful” it is, or implies, unbiast right? Then goes to put up FOUR links to the website along with a guide how to sign up.

    —————-DON’T BUY INTO THIS——————–

I visited their website, which by all rights is shady as hell.
For one thing, they claim to have been featured on entrepreneur.com, which I checked and not surprisingly turned out to be a false claim. Nothing of the sort exists.
Second, I suggest you read the fine print on the automated profit package site. The one where they state where they’re definitely not affiliated with any of the websites they imply they’re working with, that is, by putting their logos on the head of the site.

Bottomline is, you’re giving them a “small fee” in return for them giving you free money for doing jackshit on your computer. Does that make sense to you? Honestly, if it does, you deserve to get scammed.”

  20. Christian says:

At the risk of looking like a spammer, I’m gonna post what their representative emailed me:

Just a quick note to say Thank You for your interest in our program.

    Here’s my reply:

    ———————————————-
“I sincerely hope that you’ll give this up and find a proper use for your time. Because I sure as hell know that scamming people, whether it’s online or the old fashion way is NOT legal.

Supposedly, by signing up to your “program” I’ll get loads of free money for jerking around on my computer. But hey, I get all that for what, 20 dollars? Yeah, that seems fair. At least to you people. By putting together all the twenty dollars you trick out of people, you might make a hefty sum. Or go to jail, but hey, maybe you get to keep the money. Interestingly I discovered that when you try to leave the page, the price drops by 10 dollars! I guess that means, by being smart, I pay less! So, I was smart enough to stay away altogether and pay nothing, how ’bout that?

Also, would you mind explaining to me, why your website claims to have been featured on entrepreneur.com? Because I sure as hell never found anything related to you on their site. It’s kinda like the logos of all the websites you feature on the front of your site. Youtube, google, facebook, yahoo, etc. And in the fine print at the bottom, it says that YOU’RE NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY OF THEM, so why would you sport their logos for any other purpose than to mislead people? Really, I’d like to know.

    Then there’s stuff like this:
    http://newsdaily7.com/app/?&t202id=300051&t202kw=newwwcpa&match=&c3=
Which, in my honest opinion is pathetic. How retarded do you expect people to be? I could make more money from selling lemonade on a street corner than what that fake news site is trying to sell.

Bottomline is, your website is a scam, instant money has always and always shall be a scam, you should be strung up for trying to peddle your shit. Good day.

Oh, and one thing, you forgot to add the most important details, this site here will show you which ones:
    [removed]
    Just throwing you a bone!

  21. sp says:

thank god you are providing advice and common sense like this! i am a broke mum of one and for a second i entertained the idea of this. unfortunately these kinds of websites are praying upon the truly broke and poor people of our communities, people that are so broke that they allow themselves to believe they might be able to dig themselves out of a hole with this kind of crapy site.
its so sad, and i urge everyone to be VERY VERY wary. save that $20 in a bank account – at least you have it as handing it to these guys makes just one person rich – and why is that person – behind the smoke screen of this website. they are scum, and swindlers. nasty.

  22. ruel says:

I just bought a position with APP 3 days ago and now I found this article. Too late for me to realise that I won’t make any penny out of my $20. This sounds odd. But this is how online businesses work. I wish WorkAtHome can provide the exact and truthful sources of legit and honest sites to invest/earn.

  23. Afuru says:

Thank you very much for this insight. It is not easy for lay people to understand some of the ‘red lights’ identified here.
I can confirm that I was almost convinced about ‘investing’ $20 until I read this article. When I went back to the site, the I even found the registration cost slashed by $10 and was now required to just pay half…
Automated Profit Package need to be more clear if it’s genuine product they are offering. The main question though is, just exactly what will I be doing from home to earn such bucks?
I would be happy to give up my first payment as ‘registration’ fee instead of asking me to pay the initial $20 just to clear any doubt about this offer.

  24. John S. says:

I believe the authors of this system DID think about the few people out there using their brains – and they are not interested in us.

They know there will me “smarter ones”, but I believe, they are still able to put a nice pile of money together by the “regular” people quickly falling for this piece of sheet.

The real idea to entertain here is to get rich by building a similar business :) Nah, I wouldn’t be able to do that – it takes a different type of personality.

I hope one day, when Internet won’t be a new thing in people’s lives (10-50 years from now?), the world recognizes the importance of creating Internet Police offices, where crappers like this Automated Profit Blamage can be reported to and shut down within 10s of hours from reporting.

  25. shawnny says:

thanx to you all for the wonderful advise..you guys are awesome cuz i almost paid the $20 to dick suckin lips,@PAUL thanx Dude for this wonderful site.@Christian nice one,u give’em hell they deserve…….

  26. Marvin says:

Thanks a lot for putting up this site. My wife just got ‘scammed’ yesterday and I was also fooled by the website thinking that it was legit. Anyhow, I managed to find a way to refund your money back. Check this website –> http://richinwriters.com/clickbank-refund-request-number/ there’s a number that you can call or E-mail to refund your money back. I just called their hotline @ 1-800-390-6035 and was gladly answered by a tech and informed me that my $19 will be returned!

    Hi Paul,

I am from Pakistan and am quite unfamiliar with workfromhome web sites and scams. While surfing on google I somehow landed onto AutomatedProfitPackage web site through some news website named newsdaily7

    http://newsdaily7.com/app/?&t202id=300051&t202kw=newwwcpa&match=&c3=

I was quite attracted by the scheme and was about to pay online but suddenly got an idea to first investigate the authenticity of scheme by searching the facts through google. Thanks GOD I found your website, you surely have saved 19US$ for me; thanks a lot. But I have given my secondary email address on that site! will it be causing any problem? I will appreciate a reply.

thank you for this, i was about to pay almost $20 but then I thought i have to research first,I found this, you saved my money haha, thank you

I begin to doubt their motive because when i open the site”Offer Promotion Ends Tomorrow: Sunday, February 20, 2011″ its a common strategy of some salesman who want to dispose item immediately.
Correct me if im wrong.THANKS A LOT PAUL.Coz im about to pay them but decided to search an answer and i found you.In my mind it its only 20Dollars.Just a question Paul ..If it is not beneficial to users, can someone act on it to be remove or banned from posting advertisements like that?

Thank you.You helped me to save money, but it was late.I spent 40$ on Automated Profit Package. It is a pity.I am glad to find your comments.I had to look for them earlier.I wanted to earn and I was with pink glasses.:(I will be careful with such propositions.

  34. Jorge says:

Excelent analysis, it indeed looked as a scam; it’s always a good thing to verify before taking the credit card out of the wallet.

    Congratulations for the serious work.

  35. soph says:

Well, I just have to repeat what (almost) everyone else here has said: thank you for clearing things up. Although the site looks suspect as hell and my head says that it’s obviously a scam, there’s still a part of me that wants o believe everything they say. Of course, life would be sweet if I could make a few hundred dollars extra a month only by doing something else in front of the computer.

    Cheers, keep it up!

  36. Galvin says:

    How do we believe you?
You not the same as others?
That website Nitchling or whatever cant spell Imagine…….

    • Typos are an issue sometimes and sometimes they aren’t. It’s definitely good to pay attention to even minor issues like that – but within the context of EVERYTHING else you can find about a particular opportunity.

One thing I believe (and I think many would agree with) is that it’s important to look at a MULTITUDE of red flags. One red flag doesn’t necessarily indicate a potential scam…but if you start seeing 10 or 20 all together, then it’s time to be pretty suspicious.

Also I’m not here to ask you to believe me. I’m here to (hopefully) improve your ability to do your own due diligence when doing your OWN research about whatever opportunity you decide to pursue – whether it’s Niche Blitzkrieg or something else. If you need help on one in particular after you’ve tried to figure out if it’s legitimate, you can always contact me via the feedback form to see if I can help you determine if the opportunity you’re looking into is legitimate or not.

I guess I could point you to things I’ve done, but I think that’s actually robbing you of your chance to analyze matters for yourself.

However, that being said, here are some things that might help you understand more about who I am:

      1) I provided extensive research to the Federal Trade Commission on the In Deep Services case here which in involved one of the top 100 spammers in the world at the time.
      2) Business.gov did a power user spotlight about me here: Power User Spotlight: From Computer Programmer to Home-Business Scam Expert
      3) The BBB has used my research: List of Fake News Websites from WorkAtHomeTruth.
      4) I’ve provided documentation to other law enforcement (at their request) through Eagle Research Associates. You can read about Eagle Research here – Eagle Research Associates has an Assigned Federal Agent from the Secret Service as well as three assigned U.S. Postal Inspectors and law enforcement officers from 3 other agencies I can’t disclose at this time.
      5) I contributed the chapter on Work At Home Scams in this book:
Robbing You With A Keyboard Instead Of A Gun – which, as it turns out, has a few typos and grammar errors that I’ll need to fix on the next printing. O_O

I could list more, but I think that’s enough for now. But again, I’ve resisted listing that kind of information for a long time, because I love to see people come and point out red flags that THEY see so they can help other people develop their own scam-fighting eyes. :-)

  37. Galvin says:

Thanks Paul for that detailed reply. My head is spinning a bit with all the sites for online business setups. Are you associated with the NBlitz. business or just tried it and happy. I am anxious to get out of my long hour professinal job and give this a try. You certainly have given me enough to trust your judgement and after watching the video I think it is worth a go. However after watch the video they said a cost of $47 but I cant seem to find that…only trials for 4.95. How do I get started. Thanks again..Galvin

    • Galvin – yes, I’m an affiliate – which is why I put it under the “Store” section…anything I actually am compensated on I put under the “Store” logo to make that clear. That being said, I could make WAY more money promoting some of the crap products if I really wanted to. I suppose in an ideal world there’d be no affiliate programs on this site – however, it takes SO much work to run.

However, I know some people (not many actually to date – on this site at least) feel that compensation could influence my opinion, so that’s one reason I put this page up:
      http://www.workathometruth.com/blog/2010/12/02/real-money-making-ideas/

That page contains a list of OTHER sites (not mine) that fall into one of the following categories:

      1) They are run by people who’s opinions I trust AND who won’t screw people over or promote crap to them.
      2) They are scam-fighting, fraud-fighting sites.
      3) They provide REAL reviews even if they are or could be an affiliate of a product they’re reviewing.

Niche Blitzkrieg is a modified version of how I first started to make money online years ago – very, very similar, but MUCH less expensive to get going (I used SiteBuildIt at the time – which is good, but expensive). What I do now is different (larger sites) but what I like about Niche Blitzkrieg is that helps newbies focus on a simple process – plus it provides full access to the forum and updates without a monthly charge.

That being said, there are PLENTY of places to learn niche marketing and basic principles of niche marketing – so it’s not like Niche Blitzkrieg is the “holy grail” of making money…all legitimate programs are based on core principles. There’s “The Niche Blogger” training by Amy Bass. There are several niche marketing products by Andrew Hansen, and one of the more recent products was “Google Sniper” (however, I recommend you stay away from that product – mainly because personally his marketing/sales tactics leave a bad taste in my mouth).

The other problem is that a person might put out a good product…but then they’ll promote really questionable/scammy products to their customers after that initial sale. I know for a fact Michael Brown won’t do that…and I would be surprised if Amy Bass did that.

I did buy the domain name swindles.org (it’s not up yet) where I’ll make it a completely non monetized site so there isn’t even the PERCEPTION of a potential conflict of interest.

  38. D.C.S says:

I googled the damn thing and the first two on my list were their promotional sites (one from the UK apparently). When it is too good to be true it’s not true. Always check. I still dream about what I could have done with the 500.000 Euro I won on the Dutch lottery which I never entered.

Hi. It appears that Automated profit package is a spam!!! But is there really a genuine way to make money online? and what do they really sell and who would really buy the ‘products’?

    What a con!

Pay you $20 dollars first, up-front.

THEN i begin to earn serious money….. doing what? Selling what? Sitting on my backside looking at the computer doing what?

FIRST OF ALL, get your spellings correct on the website. Any website that cannot ensure that it is free of spelling errors raises a big, big RED flag.

SECONDLY, why is Google seemingly unaware of your existence? Go to google.com, search ‘Automated Profit Package’, and you get

“So what EXCATLY is the Automated Profit Package System? The Automated Profit Package course focuses on teaching people how to make money online by promoting….”

You get EXCATLY what you deserve! EXCATLY!

Send ME that $20. I will send you $200 immediately, right back to you….

It seems like you’re English is good enough that you wouldn’t have a problem understanding the training.

As to how you get paid. Typically you’re paid by companies via check, direct deposit, or PayPal.

      • Franklin says:

Paul thank you for your answer. Regarding my original question about language, what I meant is, can I make websites in spanish for the spanish market?? or a site with a translation button or something?

Regarding deposit, can it be made directly to a US issued visa card??

        Regards,

        • Oh, I see.

Franklin, let me do a little research about your Spanish Markets question. That is certainly an increasingly important market, however I’m not sure if Niche Bliztkrieg would be the right approach for that. I’ll post back here within a couple days after doing some research.

The direct deposit would have to be made into your Bank Account. I know in some countries you have to get that approved with your bank first.

Thanks Paul I will be expecting you info.

Wanted to let you know that a couple of minutes ago I tried to buy the 7 day trial with my international debit card, Everytime I hit the submit button after I put in al my info and card info, it kept bringing me back to the same page asking me to rivise my info, I see nothing wrong, but I had less than $47.00 non my debit card, could it be that?? still I only needed $4.00 bucks for the trial.

          • Good question. That’s a ClickBank processing issue – they’re a 3rd party processor. What country are you in? I do know that in Serbia for instance there are certain credit/debit cards that actually won’t work with online transactions.

I got scammed!!!@#$#@#$ I payed $20 before doing my research… Will not fall in the same trap again… I hope… So, is ClickBank legit? I provided my credit card info… Would that have serious consequences?

    Paul,

I live in Honduras but my visa debit card is issued in the US and have used it plenty of times to purchase on the internet. So you think it has nothing to do with the fact that I only had $42.00 on the card at the time even if I needed less for the trial? I see that I get charged for the trial, but after 7 days I get charged for the rest, maybe the systen checks if I have the full amount to make a charge after 7 days??

    Hi Paul,

In order t warn us you say :”A secure page will always have https:// at the beginning of it’s URL” right ?

So why, when I click on the advertise on your website “Top 3 home businesses recommended by Workathometruth” on the right of the screen, do i have this url :”store.workathometruth.com/must-watch-video.php?tid=bfmain” with no https:// at the beginning which is using yor own words an unsecure website/url….

I may be mistaking but i would like you to explain why this url after what you told us …

    • Hi French Guy,

Yes, you’re mistaken about the intent of a secure page…However, it’s probably not your fault – I should have explained that better, so I’m glad you asked the question as other people can benefit from your question as well. I’ve both written an answer to your question and also made a video which I’ve included below.

You want to make sure a page is secure when it is asking you to ENTER SENSITIVE information into a form – such as your credit card number or your passwords.

The page you reference from WorkAtHomeTruth ISN’T collecting sensitive information. However, if you CLICK OFF of the page you reference – you’ll notice that once you reach the ORDER PAGE for the product you will see the https://

Secure pages currently are used to primarily to protect your financial information – so you know it’s being sent to the company it SAYS it’s being sent to instead of say, some sort of criminal organization. That page and billions of others on the internet are NOT secure, because they aren’t collecting private, identifiable financial information from you.

So, anytime a web page asks you to enter sensitive information – such as your CREDIT CARD information, for instance – you need to be able to identify if the page is secure or not.

Here’s a video showing HOW and WHEN to check for a secure page. It also shows HOW to verify the security seals such as McAfee Secure and Verisign are REAL security seals (many fraudulent sites use FAKE security seals):

Thank you for the explanation Paul it totally makes sense actually… my mistake.

I didn’t take the time to tell you how great your website is in my first post so i tell you know it’s a really instructive website as we should see more often…
I was sceptical about this kind of making money method but i think that with “your help” i will take a shot now.

        Thanks again for your professionalism

    Hi Paul

1.Come across this blog. Should have done some research before joining APP and lose money! Its quite complex for newbie to understand the whole process of APP. Has someone really gain money with it and all thes testimonials, have they been created?

    2. What’s the difference between APP and Niche Bliztkrieg?

    Thanks to answer.

    • It sounds like the big difference is that Automated Profit Package wants people to spend a ton of money and offers no support at all, whereas Niche Blitz training costs very little and wants people to bootstrap their business – i.e. the idea is to spend minimal amounts of money initially until you are actually MAKING money. Plus, you get full support via a forum, online ticket system, and if necessary phone support.
