hen we first started this site about how to find legitimate work at home jobs and businesses we had no idea exactly how many scams were popping up every day.

We are Paul Schlegel & Mark P. Quinn and between the two of us we have expertise in home job scams, fraud detection using advanced internet tools, many online business models, computer and web-based programming as well as website traffic generation techniques.

Yes, we knew there were plenty of scams involving work at home jobs and businesses - but we've been shocked by the sheer volume of questions about obvious scams we get every day. Sadly, many of the work at home job and business scams we see people asking about or falling for are the very ones that the FBI and FTC (Federal Trade Commission) aggressivley warn consumers about every year.

We try to get as much good and free information to you as we possibly can through our free newsletter, listings of reputable companies with home jobs, lists of reputable websites that list companies that accept telecommuters, and explanation of how various scams work.

We love running this site and people really seem to respect it, but we're the first to admit that we could be doing much more. However, since we generate most of our income from other projects (mostly in helping colleges find students) it takes us a bit longer than we would like to get new information and tools up (we just put the Telecommuting tool up, but as you can see it's in kind of a raw format right now).

You should be able to tell that we believe in getting out as much free information and as many free tools and resources as possible to help you find work at home jobs.

In fact, the only thing we strongly recommend people invest a small amount of money in is the book InYourPJs which should give you a tremendous edge over other people looking for work at home jobs.

We're not crazy about the sales letter for InYourPJs, but we can't deny that it's one of the best books we've seen about how to really land work at home jobs.

Finding work at home businesses

Finding legitimate work at home businesses probably isn't nearly as hard as finding legitimate work at home jobs. But finding the right work at home business for your personality and risk-tolerance can prove to be equally challenging.

Our big breakthrough came when we realized that in order to get a good "read" on the people selling home business opportunities we would have to meet them in person.

Se we did.

Paul (the home business expert of our team) spent over $10,000 flying to various locations to sit face to face with many of these people selling moneymaking opportunities online. He called people on the phone. He asked them hard questions.

He also spent thousands of dollars buying every hotly recommended moneymaking program and software product he could get his hands on.

Paul quits his job

The good news is that through all this research, study, and hard work, Paul was able to quit his job and work from home full time to support his wife and two kids.
