NewsDaily7.com review and analysis
NewsDaily7.com has been up to a lot of mischief lately. I've previously posted videos showing that they've:
- Hijacked the BizyMoms.com domain to use in an Adwords Ad for News Daily 7
- Hijacked the MothersWorkAtHome.com domain to use in an Adwords Ad for News Daily 7
- Run ads for NewsDaily7.com through multiple adwords accounts
- NewsDaily7 sometimes puts their Advertorial disclaimer at the very bottom of the page AFTER the reader has scrolled past EIGHT (8) order links (2 of them are on the images).
Note: Unless you're a geek, you can skip the following and Click here to jump down to the LONG list of sites you should probably avoid (Unless you're a real geek…then you might want to read the next section)
I've been shocked to see the HUGE NUMBER of other sites to which NewsDaily7.com may be connected and some of the strange things going on with many of those sites.
Here's the strangest – and maybe scariest thing – I've seen a site associated with NewsDaily7.com doing:
It appears that either the company behind NewsDaily7.com or a company closely associated with NewsDaily7.com now controls the following 2 sites:
- MicroSoftCustomerCare.com
- MicroSoftcustomerCare.net
The following video shows why I believe that to be so:
Although the above video shows what appears to be the domain MicroSoftCustomerCare.com owned and hosted by Microsoft – when I used a different tool to check the ISPs of the nameservers shown in the Whois listing for MicroSoftCustomer.com…
…they didn't match the actually ISP and location listed for MicroSoftCustomerCare.com which at the time of this post is:
The video below also shows that the company behind the MicrosoftCustomerCare.com & MicrosoftCustomerCare.net domains is using them as tracking domains through Prosper202:
Both Whois history and Archive.org records have been blocked for MicrosoftCustomerCare.com I was able to find an old PowerPoint presentation that references the MicrosoftCustomerCare.com domain (see the video below):
After doing a bit of research I learned that it is in fact possible to inject false IP information into DNS records through something known as "DNS Cache Poisoning" and that one of the steps to prevent DNS Cache Poisoning is to make sure that DNS servers are not fully open to recursive queries.
I ran microsoftcustomercare.com through a name server report and received the following information which shows warnings about recursive queries being allowed for ns1.msft.net, ns2.msft.net, ns3.msft.net, ns4.msft.net, and ns5.msft.net
The image below shows that the company behind NewsDaily7.com appears to be operation out of the same area of the world.
Several sites show that they are registered to a company called "Relevant Global Marketing" (more on this when I update the post)
Note: I have uploaded a diagram in PDF format of the likely connections between NewsDaily7.com and other sites. You can download it by following the instructions below:

Great job. That is some list too. I recognise some of the sites like LA Sentinel which was used last year for the "Google Kit" scams.
I also found this in the source code of LA Sentinel:
affiliate.c2mclicks.com/rd/r.php?sid=1274&pub=514462&c1=lad7pop
So we know the person behind all these sites is an affiliate of Convert2media and their affiliate id.
Relevant Global Marketing Ltd comes up a bit too – it is mentioned here: http://stopmalvertising.com/malvertisements/another-work-from-home-scam-advertised-by-yahoo/all-pages The London address in the whoisinfo is a house according to Google Maps and an accountancy practice according to Google search. There is also a linkedin page for Relevant Global Marketing Ltd Israel which says the owner is a Daniel Treisman.
Thanks John,
I have a diagram I did in MindMeister that does a better job at showing how everything is connected – I'm trying to think of the best way to display it – I may just have to put it up for download.
Also, there are two names I came across during the research that I can't find in my notes.
One was a company called Keyword Marketing, Inc. which seems to be somewhat nefarious but I can't remember how or if it is actually connected to the sites above.
Then there was a name of another individual in the Whois history records.
I downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials and my Spyware StopZilla and Norton have me a message that it was a threat to my computer. I ignored it as the message said it was "rogue". My computer continued to have many problems and then I had a trojan horse attached to my computer. Once I removed the Microsoft Security Essentials the problem ceased.
When I tried to download the pdf, I get to a page that says either it has been removed or was never there.
Thanks for pointing that out, Bea.
I fixed the link in the original post. Here it is again:

Thanks for this information Paul. I actually discovered this scam by clicking through an ad in the SERPS after recognizing the ad as one being displayed on our website through Adsense (just before reading your message). As always, you've done your homework. I blocked the bizymoms.com and mothersworkathome.com domains from displaying ads on our site for now. Damn shame because we both know bizymoms is a legit site, and mothersworkathome appears to be as well. Hope they get these scammers shut down sooner rather than later. Please keep us updated.
Hi Tony,
Nice to see you posting here again.
I had to block them as well and agree that it's as I would actually WANT people to go to BizyMoms.
Thank you Paul.
I started on the internet Feb 2010 and have been inundated with scam this and scam that.
I've had a gut full of this.
I'm glad I get your emails as you are helping me avoid even more scams.I wonder if they prey on new email addresses. Since all these scammers have come through yahoo, I was wondering if yahoo gives out all your details?
Is there a way to police the internet?
On my yahoo email there is a part which asks if there is anything that we want to share. Well I did. And since then the scam crap has stopped. This I wrote for all to see, maybe others can use this also. I wrote to inform all that send the scam emails that I send them all to the cops. I stated that my email address loves cops. Since I have done this the mongrel scammers have stopped, and yes the police do get all my emails.
I even linked facebook so it hopefully will get around that my email address is honest and that includes my web site and I have no problem sending their crap to the police. Thanks for the warning lists of dodgey web sites
Maryann,
There's no practical way to police the internet fully – or even close to fully. There just aren't enough resources.
If you're saying that the scam emails came through the Yahoo email system – no Yahoo doesn't share your email address with third parties.
My computer was recently attacked by a virus that completely took control of my computer. I called a phone number for Microsoft PC Security which connected me to techs in India. They remotely took control of my computer & removed suspicious programs. After four roughly 90-minute sessions, they finally seem to have removed the virus. But after reading some bad things about Microsoft Security Essentials, I'm still worried as this is the program they installed on my computer. Does anybody know whether this virus protection is legit? With so many scams going on in the virus-protection business, it's hard to tell what's safe and what's potentially dangerous! It's getting so I'm afraid to surf anymore!
David,
If you got it through Microsoft then yes, it is a legit program.
You can see the information for Microsoft Security Essentials here at Microsoft:

I started researching 'work at home' and other such money making schemes back in 1999 and stopped a few years ago—-should have kept a list, but is was sorrowful enough just knowing that there are so many low-life's out there who will rob you of your last dollar without a second thought.
However, some of the scammers went to jail—-even a retired judge from Idaho was recently sentenced to six years for running some sort of 'inventory-backed'ponzi—he and his partner (Bryant E. Behrmann and Larry "Buck" E. Hunter) who operated Global Online—-They got 8 million. And six years in the pokey.
Keep up the good work, Paul. I know how tedious and disappointing it can be—-but, hey, look at all the good you are doing by saving a lot of your readers from scams which only take their money and offer promises.
Thanks, John
I appreciate it.
Thanks again Paul,
I do not bother opening any e-mails that are not relevant any more and it saves me time in having to read them. thanks for your stirling work again.
James
Thanks, James.
help me i want to know of a real money making site. what do i choose
Justin,
I recommend you watch this video to see what it really takes to make money online.
Thanks again Paul for a job well done. I am so glad that I found you on the net. You are sort of like an internet sheriff exposing all of the bad guys.
Tam
Thanks, Tammy.
